It's so stupid not to say the name Iga. It's jealousy. Interviewers and Coco are just pathetic. IGA IS THE BEST, whether you like it or not. Your lack of respect doesn't hurt Iga, but it shows your lack of class.
Thats why I prefer Jessica Pegula. She always say nice things about Iga and use her name. Even last year after Cancun final she was joking about Iga's bakery. And this drama about sip of water... Its not the right way!
It's so stupid not to say the name Iga. It's jealousy. Interviewers and Coco are just pathetic. IGA IS THE BEST, whether you like it or not. Your lack of respect doesn't hurt Iga, but it shows your lack of class.
For anyone to beat Iga Swiatek, including Coco G., they are going to have to at least match if not exceed her Tennis IQ. This Tennis IQ is why & how she's picking those statistically high yield shots so often. It's not a random shot, a guess or just a reaction. She's seeing the balls clearly; she's seeing opponent's movements to the balls she strikes & the opponent's STYLE of hitting the balls back to her from where she placed the ball. She's adjusting her shots during the game/match. As great as Coco Gauff is becoming, she needs more mental & physical maturity, experience & vision to beat Iga S. Brute force alone will not get the job done.
Iga is an AMAZING PLAYER. SHE HAS PROVEM THAT SHE IS THE TOP PLAYER IN THIS GENERATIONS. EVEN SABALENKA H2H IS 7-3. Coco is in the semifinal in both singles and doubles. She had achieved alot..... I would say that Coco needs to create a game specifically for Iga if she is going to defeat her overall she is doing well... congratulations to both Coco and Iga for creating great women's tennis and keeping the game competitive
Even Osaka is blown away by what Iga is doing and that's saying a lot. Because she was number 1 and won 4 Majors but was never as dominant as Iga and she admires that and Iga.
Not so good. She can't return a drop well because she expects the ball to come fast and she gets caught standing far behind and she doesn't play a variety like forehand slice, backhand slice, drop shot. That's why Ash Barty was no.1. These top two WTA players are all about power which obviously could be exploited by players who play a variety of shots.
And when Coco starts talking about Daniel, she said "Danielle" names 5 times she's starting smailling. So Coco if u not show respect in your mind to champ like IGA you always will be loser
@@leszekkraszewski4669Don’t think disrespecting Iga. But, Danielle is also from US; so, Coco knows Danielle more on a personal level to address her by first name as Coco mentioned in press conference that they’ve gotten to know each other more via Billie Jean.
I’d say she believes but not fully but I agree with you, I also hope they are planning on introducing someone in her team that will deal with her mental game, if she fixes that, she will be unstoppable and EVERYONE knows that, that’s why they use every opportunity to try and kill her confidence
The hate Iga has got is going to make her even a better player b'se its Iga against the world people have started watching Tennis with emotions some feel she wins by chance like in Madrid last week my question how abt in Italy? Imagine Coco saying she lost b'se Iga was hitting the ball to the lines which she usually does! ! I feel like Iga has no pressure to beat anyone its the rest to beat Iga b'se they feel she's not the best player in the world
It's extremely important for top athletes to NOT decide to be your opponent's mental or physical enemy or adversary. One must embrace the entire match against your opponent - including WHO one is playing in a match and embrace that player with respect verbally & emotionally. To ignore your #1 opponent in any way is the first step in underestimating your opponent & then going down that road of losing to your biggest opponent.
Why are the Iga fans always here? I mean for someone who’s won most of the encounters you’d think they wouldn’t be worried or concerned about Coco🤷🏾♂️ unless they feel Coco is a threat? That if she works on her forehand and overall game she will be unstoppable? I mean it puzzles me ❤
She may think it was close, but if you look at all the stats that matter, it wasn;t close at all. The one area she she was better in as a percentage was break points, but, Iga had 13 of them, broke 4. So in reality, that stat is not close either.
Yeah it wasn’t a close match at all. Iga gets broken almost always in her first game so she wasn’t even worried there. Coco played better than usual and she might think she’s close but recently Elena beat Iga in Stuttgart and Sabalenka took her to three sets in Madrid. She can’t just assume she would’ve won against “anyone else” today because she broke Iga once in her first serving game.
@@citron1414Against Aryna, too? That’s a big question mark. I mean Coco has improved a lot, but I think no.3 is the right place for her at the moment. Congrats anyway for the fight against Iga.❤
She is deluded and overhyped like Shelton. I understand her will of winning, that's how it is in USA, but sometimes you just need cold shower of reality.
@@xyz_k6359 She said ”I could have won”, not ”I would have won” …..that leaves the space that she COULD have lost also against another player. But I think anyway that was too strong statement from her, with that second serve and the mental side of her game.
I am always impressed with how Gauff can assess her game and overall progress in real-time. She could've easily allowed the emotions of this moment to overshadow the facts. She was able to break down what we were all seeing. That is growth in her forehand, first serve, and confidence in going for her shots. I think she is finally understanding that she needs to dictate the pace and if she doesn't Iga and Sabalenka will. And this matters because her real strength has always been her mind so if she can make this mental shift and continue to build on her game then she can have some serious battles with the other two. Either way Coco you are doing well and you are still moving forward. You have already made the top 3, won a grand slam and broken so many other records as a teenager. Your fans are behind you all the way. All the best for RG and the future!
Great comment ❤ let’s keep supporting her. Hope she finally starts to see and believe fully in her talent. If she fixes her mental state, she will be unstoppable
Not completely. She beat Iga last year after she improved a lot but then Iga went and also improved her serve and has become even more aggressive. It's not like Coco isn't improving. It's that she hasn't found the perfect shot selection against a player like Iga. Mind you Iga is 4-0 against Jelena Ostapenka. It's just a tough match up against Iga for Coco. She'll figure it out.
She needs to strategize whilst on court against a well-oiled machine like Iga. strategize all by herself without her coaches' input during the game. Coco needs to figure out Iga the way Iga has figured out Coco.....
I am incredibly proud of Coco! To be in the Semifinals in both Singles & Doubles. You can see a clear difference in the way Coco played today vs the way she played in Stuggart; the improvement is incredible. If she can keep the aggressive mindset and improve the 1st serve percentage, she will be unstoppable. Regardless, she should have no shame in losing to Iga because this was definitely Iga's toughest match this entire tournament.
I think she has improved a lot but I would leave out doubles, just to concentrate to singles and we will see exciting matches between Coco and Iga in the near future.
I predict that she will be number one one day. She is a huge 🌟 in the making. And she is so eloquent and mature for her age, which makes her so likeable. I like how she stands for herself with the umpires in a respectable but firm way! Lots of things about Coco that make me like her
@ryszardwychowski5941 well you dont need to write in polish, i get that u are an Iga fan in other way))... honestly i do not dislike Iga but her fans are barbaric
@@7troyfreundwhat do you mean? Most of you Iga fans are annoyingly disrespectful. But thank God Iga is a very sweet and humble girl and she doesn't want your stupidity 🙏
I like Coco. I like her spirit & her fight. Sadly she will never be able to stand up to Iga's level. It's just how sports works sometimes. But pls she deserves respect alot for her tenacity; her discipline; her self-control at all times in the face of adversity.
Everything you said is true, but if she continues to improve, she’ll prevail. I’m glad you and millions of others can see Coco’s good qualities! She never displays a bad attitude towards others. Since she been playing tennis, she tactfully stated her disagreement with one call to an umpire without raising her voice during the US Open. And for that, some said she’s mean. Now some haters are mad, because they said she didn’t verbalize Iga name enough! Coco is a beautiful person!😊
Of course if you try to hit the ball too hard returning a serve you could hit the net more often but Gauff got to keep the ball inside the court too. She has all the skills required to be number 1. Also she had her chances like early in the first set. To be number 1 there is very little room for such errors. Also she should lose those overwhelming emotions and shouting "comeon" on top of her voice but I notice all American players do that. Positive is she is beginning to play well this season in places where she is not favored by the crowds.
Actually, the loudest players are the Eastern European players. Sabalenka, Azarenka, former player Sharapova, Osterpanko, the top Brazilian player, and several others from Eastern Europe! Coco is one of the quieter players. She only says “come-on” if she makes a tough shot. So no, it’s not an American thing. Coco is improving, and she’ll get there in a year or so, because she’ll continue working hard!!❤❤❤
@@user-mc3js6kn9sHow? Did she refuse to shake hands? Break a racquet? Insult Iga in some way? She doesn't look happy here, but if she did it would appear fake. No one likes to lose.
Keep improving Coco. I know it sucks right now but you're improving. Iga's game has fully developed as yours is still developing against her. Just keep improving. It wasn't an easy match for both but Iga is just too good on clay and a little bit better especially on clay.
At first, I was like, who’s “she”? Then I read other’s comments. I was thinking, what in the world is going on? Why are players at this level (men & women) having all this drama. Picking verbal & emotional fights with your opponent is giving away one’s own mental energy space for thinking about your player strategy. A lot of it is being young. But really. Take care of your own mental strength and move on. Caddy foolishness is a waste of time and energy. Spread kindness. ❤
YOU WERE AWESOME COCO! YOU HAD THE GAME IN TOW! YOU ARE ONE OF THE FEW WHO CAN PLAY TOE-TO-TOE WITH IGA! YOU HAD THE GAME WON IN THE FIRST THREE OR FOUR SECTS! IGA'S TOUGH! I'M JUST CRAZY ABOUT YOU, NAOMI, AND IGA! YOU ARE MY FAVORITES! Y'ALL HAVE DONE TENNIS PROUD! WHAT I DON'T LIKE IS THE CRAZY SABALENKA AND ALL OF THE SCREAMING & YELLING! TENNIS IS NOT A GAME OF VISERAL AGGRESSION! IT START AT LOVE-LOVE! WTA NEEDS TO FIX THAT! A GRUNT! A HUFF! A HAAH! ETC IS OKAY! BUT VISERAL AGRESSION USING EXCESS LOUD SOUNDS IS CHEATING! Y-E-A-H! I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SPAIN COCO! AGAIN, YOU WERE A-W-E-S-O-M-E BABY! PROUD OF YOU! GET SOME REST!
I am a supporter no matter what. Coco played Iga close in the first set. The numbers are not a reflection of her effort. She really played well with the exception of one game. She’s had a great run. Iga is a very tough opponent. She will crack the code. If her serve had been there the entire match, I think the results would’ve been different. Best of luck in doubles tomorrow!
I think she should concentrate on the singles…she has made so much improvement with the best coach available for her. Iga is very good in so called “pressure points” and now when her first serve also have started to work well, the gap increases to the other players.
@@lucypedzinski1403 Lucy, There was a turning point on the first set at 4-4, where Iga was 0-40 down, but she managed to get even and win the game. After that it was all the way down to the basement for Coco. Did Coco choke as usually or is Iga just so good on those so called “pressure points” like against Aryna in Madrid final?
For real win or lose Coco is my player she's advancing in her growth. Just like the Williams sisters she is being treated, but they are tennis legends. Don't let your color determine your destiny. We know what's its about. Great semifinal game Coco n Iga
I'm fan of coco one day she will be able to beat IGa, but she should believe it and when she breaks IGa she should be able to hold serve but it's difficult for her to do that.
Do you think Iga is going to sleep, do nothing and waiting for the day ?! Anyway they don't read the RU-vid "comments" to not get sick of our opinions, advises etc.
I am Iga “fan” in the positive, in the sportsmanship way. For me Coci is on the right path with the best coach she can now get. She has improved a lot and we will see tight matches between them as Iga is also continuing to improve. Congrats to Coco even now it feels hard.
There's not much inside her head but a helluva lot going on outside... is it headlice? With here arrogant attitude and constant arguments with umpires, she'll never win another slam, no matter how hard she hits the ball!
Coco, you are doing very well. You are young and have a lot waiting foe you. PLEASE, STAY POSITIVE AND DO A LOT OF PRACTICE. FOCUS ON YOUR GAME AND PLEASE LOOK AGAIN AT DOUBLES. PLEASE, COCO THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMERICANS AND EUROPEANS, IT IS JUST A GAME. YOU ARE ❤️ LOVED COCO. WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOOSE YOU ARE NOT TENNIS, YOU ARE MUCH BIGGER AND IMPORTANT THAN THAT. GOD'S PRECIOUS CHILD.❤❤❤
“Anti- Coco” Idiots on here are forgetting that Coco has beaten Iga before. (U.S. Open) So to say Coco “isn’t at Iga’s level just wreaks of ignorance of the sport of tennis. Coco has very specific shot combinations that she is not executing against Iga. (Defensive backhand slice as well as inside out and inside in forehands) Iga is also physically stronger on the slower surface which matters on red clay. People are also missing the fact that Coco is still very young. You can also tell when people are just hating on Coco for whatever reason? ( Well I think I suspect but people would never admit the reason I’m thinking of) Let the haters hate Coco, you are still an elite athlete getting better… tennis will soon have more people of color so there is less hate.
I don’t know who’s ignorant here. Coco has never beaten Iga in a slam. She beat her in Cincy. She’s also very lucky to have had Ostapenko beat Iga at USO because she was on track to meet her in the next round.
@@gabrielametodieva8360 you are correct it was Cincy. But seriously, that makes me ignorant? Like I said she has beaten Iga. I rest my case. As to my ignorance, I’m a former ATP player,… so you would wish to have my “ignorance” couch potato… Also as to “ignorance, maybe you can tell me the TWO technical flaws that Coco has on her forehand? I’ll wait. 🤔 Yeah. I didn’t think you’d know.
@@Roadrunner65553you proved your own ignorance or at least the lack of maturity, by: 1. Calling other people idiots in the first place, whilst making a factual mistake. 2. Thinking that by the virtue of being former ATP player you are better than others and you can't be wrong. 3. Calling a person you know nothing about a couch potato. 4. Not nowing how to state your opinion without insulting others. I rest my case. Although I'm sure shorty we would add to this list no. 5 - Not knowing when to shut up 😅
Nobody is anti Coco here, everyone admire this young girl and what she has achived so far!! The problem here is that she is just disrespectful to her opponent and full of herself! I thought Coco was different 🤔, she comes in this interview as a bitter and jealous person with help from American journalists !
