I've been a fan since 1985 when I was 16, still liten to them, and will carry them with me throughout the remainder of my life ... and maybe even into the next. ❤
See when you get really old , like me, you get to claim them - it’s one of the few advantages of age. :) Seriously, it’s great to see younger people discover this. Great music is always great music and it belongs to everyone who appreciates it for that. Take it and make it your own, that’s what keeps it alive.
Ahora tengo 50 años y sigo pensando igual. Gracias Cocteau Twins.
Yep. I saw them live 3 times and feel truly blessed to have witnessed first hand the magic in that immense voice she possesses. I think it came from an unearthly source. I still get lost in the music after all this time.
I love this band since coming of age in the late 80s. Despite the cracks and Aid epidemics, most everything was still safe and innocent then because most people were brave, sane and respectful towards others.
So good to hear Liz singing live and going for it, rather than the ethereal "you get what you get" when she sings live elsewhere. I love the "thank goodness I got through that" at the end of Half-Gift 4:31🙂
It's interesting; I always felt "Golden Vein" to be a lullabye, but I was just playing it out over the piano, and the song in in the key of lullabys: A-major. Same key of Bach's "Goldberg Variations," which were comissioned by a Count Goldberg, who often could not sleep at night. Bach wrote 30 variations to a theme in A major. Bach chose that key for the lullabye. Also, The Cure's "Lullabye" is also in the key of A. I see the A note as an indigo blue, and as an fat oval shape (whereas B-flat is a tall, thin oval, and purple in color. Prince's "Purple Rain" was written in purple). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JjFMh1k9FHw.html (one of my visual note-to-color analysis' here on uTube for those interested)
She is not lip syncing, one of the very few tiny mistakes she makes is when she breathes on the mic and you can hear it (she also says something audible down the mic right at the end of the first song unless you think for some reason that's on the recording and she lip synced that as well). She is just so technically impressive that you have mistaken it for lip syncing. Please don't claim things as fact without double checking first.
@@mattelliottmusic yeah and one of the reasons they never went on TOTP was because they refused to lip sync so I don't know why they'd make an exception for MTV lol, definitely not lip syncing. Too much class.
We're all waiting for your mind-blowing performances to be uploaded on here, Ein-fuckin-stein of the musical world!! Guess we'll be waiting a while.....
