The reason some tanks explode instantly when you put a bomb on them and not others is that the game *usually* waits for a couple allies to get on it and put grenades down the hatch, however not every place a tank can potentially die has enough space for your friends animations to play out properly so instead the game will intsakill the tank, if all these spots were found through speedrun science then any stage with roaming tanks and no panzerschrecks could be solved.
It also has to do with where you plant the charge. Planting it on the engine (back) destroys it always while planting it on the track can only immobile it until allies finish it off.
I know you probably won't be playing this again but in the world record for Red Army Training the only big thing I noticed him do differently was at the end you only grenaded the Commissar once, where as he grenaded the Commissar a second time after he finished running from the first grenade.
He also likely played on regular, making everything a bit more difficult, but also making the fuse timer 5 seconds shorter, but I still haven't watched it lol. And yeah I'm likely not really going to play cod 2 again for a long time.
P.S. Этот WR ещё долго не побьют. Разве что только ты сам, Kloog. Можешь теперь возвращать себе WR в CoD MW2. P.S. This WR won't be beaten for a long time. Unless it's just you, Kloog. You can now get your WR back in CoD MW2.
I am not sure if you know this, but it is actually possible to skip the bunkers on Hill 400. The trick takes a lot of (accidental) dumb luck, and I myself have only managed to do it once, and that was like fifteen years ago. When I was rushing the third bunker from the side, I threw a single grenade from a distance that managed to land inside, and I must have presumably killed every single occupant with that one throw because Sergeant Randall then raced up the hill without bothering with the explosives, which in themselves save a handful of seconds. Even though the game was allowing me to approach the summit without requiring the explosive on the bunker, I did it anyway because I actually felt kind of stupid in killing everybody with a fluke throw.
It's been a while since I ran this, so I don't remember everything perfectly. But I'm fairly sure I tried to do this with no success. Even if it were possible, grenades are really really inconsistent, and it would require some really amazing setup for it to be useful in a full game run. Definitely something people should look into solving though. Thanks for the input.
@@klooger28 After I did it once, I tried to do it a few more times, but I was unsuccessful. I also managed to do it from a distance, so I am not certain if throwing it at the right angle, added by the AI being too far away to react to the game script allowed a single grenade to wipe everybody out. What I do know, is that after Randall and the rest of the squad moved ahead, I planted the explosives just to confirm that everybody in the bunker really was dead. Sure enough, they were. The closest I have gotten to replicating that moment was a single grenade leaving one survivor, which does not help much when you have to wait several seconds for the door to blow open.
Next I'll be doing cod classic trilogy, which is cod 1, cod 2, waw, so I'll be de-rusting those games for a little bit, after that probably veteran something.
@@klooger28 it was by the time youtube was nowhere close like this now. I playt throught the entire campaign like 1000 times in every difficulty but never found this little secret.
Klooger, ты супер-пупер задрот! Жаль, что я не видел всё это в прямом эфире. Молодчина! Klooger, you are a super duper nerd! Too bad I didn't see it live. Well done!
I have a personal discord that's mostly for notifying people when I'm streaming, but there's also a discord for all cod games where runners talk about whatever, I can give you the link to either or both, whichever you want.
