Yeah well they have a habit of doing that so they can fool you to think that the game is different than the one before it, legit Vanguard and MWII are the first 2 cods I don't buy
@@basictrolle4246 no argument there about Vanguard, but the new MW games have been amazing, and it brought cod back from the dead it was since BO1, since everything between that and MW (2019) were shells of what cod was, even including the games that were underrated in themselves. As someone who loves the OG MW games today, so far the new reboot lives up to the hype, if not surpasses it to some degree. I know the whole point about this vid and your comments is about spec ops, which yes, the new games have screwed up into glorified survival with objectives, but you shouldn't miss out on MW2
It's a bit jarring that he needs to say something EVERY single time the player manages to kill a group of enemies so the player is aware they've succeeded and haven't missed an enemy but the dialogue is actually varied enough that you don't notice first run through
I miss old cod special ops. I loved memorizing the spawn positions and speed running each level. I spent over a hour once memorizing every single spawn location on the Chernobyl spec ops mission and could jump shot spawn points from across the map it was just so fun
I did the same, I actually had the #1 time in the world for PS3 on this exact map in the video, only for the first week or so before the run got optimized by better players than myself, but I was super proud to get that #1 spot
Fun fact, for some odd reason the RSASS in this level has a Thermal Scope without the thermal. It's exclusive to this level because even if affected by an EMP in Multiplayer with an RSASS w/Thermal Scope, it looses the reticle too.
Another fun fact, canted sights made their debut in this game. In the campaign, the default RSASS comes with a red dot on the side that can be switched to, similar to the other hybrid sights
@@ahmadsuleman9045 i remember that shit. I remember being absolutely stunned at the idea you could just...mount an optic on the side diagonally and have close up sights with a sniper scope.
i genuinely was hoping for classic spec ops with MW2, and with the teaser of "after release content updates for Spec Ops" my expectations were way too high. What we have now will never compare to co-op in any cod before WW2
sad but true. they really need to break the cycle of greed they’re stuck in and actually put effort into a game. otherwise idk if i really want the series to continue. not as a shell of its former self, anyway.
MW3 Special Ops was the best. You had the regular spec ops missions we remember from MW2, plus they added survival mode which was some of the most fun I had during that era.
Spec ops doesn’t get the praise that it deserves. It’s genuinely such a genius way to add more content to the game. Its objective based mission design is reminiscent of games like goldeneye and its spiritual successors (TimeSplitters perfect Dark) but it’s call of duty’s version of it. I’ll never forget the memories I made trying to beat all spec ops missions in Mw2 on the hardest difficulty with friends. The difficulty can be incredibly cruel, but there was nothing more hype than beating a tough spec ops mission with another person. It brought people together and made friendships stronger. I genuinely like Spec Ops almost as much as I like Zombies
You just brought me back memories, when i used to play it alone or with my older brother, at friday fresh out of school, i complete it at all difficulties, and was fun, but as you know, you miss some peolpe there; 1. At the beginnig of the mission you save the firts one, then looked right and kill 2 spetnaz inside the building, there were another soldier to rescue. 2. When you do a double kill with one shot, then the 2 russians and 1 dog, then when yoy go straigh to turn left and find the 2 soldiers coming out of the apartment, before you go there, at your right will be a alley way close with a cage door, there are another soldier to rescue. 3. When you go through the apartment and knife that guy and thr exit, and kill the squad of 4, when you go out the building, get inside of the next building at your right, that the other soldier to rescue. That all of the guys you miss, but you have done good the mission. GG my brother.
My guy thought he turned his radio off at the end And for those wondering, the majority of the rebels he saved were killed right before the mission ended, so it triggered a different voice line, also he missed so many rebels 😭
MW3 had the best spec ops package hands down. Ever since Infinity Ward seems completely averse to the idea and prefers to dip half a toe into another saturated PVE genre before abandoning it shortly after. Call of Duty needs to stop desperately chasing trends and stick to its strengths.
They won't, the AAA gaming industry is now completely dominated by talentless-soulless-executives and empty suits who've never touched a controller in their entire life . . You got big gaming developers with studio heads that have only been in charge of mobile game companies, you got executives and CEO's of publishers who don't give the slightest fuck about video games or the actual products they're releasing, it's all being ran like virtually every major corporation and conglomerate in existence now-to please shareholders and rake in as much money as humanly possible (while simultaneously expending as little energy-i.e. long game development windows/funding for proper DLC even if it's paid content/hiring actual talented and creative workers)-and it's genuinely depressing. With the technology available now, the standard of video games should be infinitely higher than what they currently are, and we should be getting FAR more; from 2000-2013 I was easily buying at least a half dozen different games a year (but probably way more), Activision itself used to publish like a dozen games year round from New obscure titles to all time hits, Rockstar used to make multiple different games that weren't Grand Theft Auto, COD used to be (for lack of better phrasing) fucking awesome-and also designed with the M rating in mind hence the badassery and gritty violence in WaW/BLO1, now I've purchased only about six games in the last four years . . It's devolved to asinine levels in every aspect other than pure graphics, which mean little and less when a game from 20yrs ago has you beat in every other category 😒 Alright my rant nobody's gonna see is over 👍
But if they don't chase the trends, they don't made the big-cash-money-right now-bucks. Their short-sightedness doesn't allow them to see that despite being decades old, people are still fighting to buy much older games. Same reason why things aren't built to last anymore. Instead of making a reputable product that will make people want to come back and buy more, they make a shitty product that forces the people to buy another one to replace the first one. I get that they want to make money, but for people who supposedly have degrees in business, businessmen are pretty retarded.
@@CommanderLongJohn I'm right there with ya man. I found my outlet and that's PC. All the games I loved growing up with get a new lease on life with enhancements and mods, like playing them for the first time all over again. Also just a huge backlog of games I never got around to. I haven't been "current" so to speak in quite a while.
@@CommanderLongJohn Yep, the golden age came and went and we didn't even know it at the time to appreciate it. the leaps that games made over the lifetime of one console generation used to be huge. Halo 1 to Halo 2 in 3 years. True next generation gameplay with Halo 3, after just 3 years again. GTA3 to Vice City in 1 year. 2 years later you have GTA: San Andreas. 4 years later you get GTA4 was incredible physics and simulation-based action. Metal Gear Solid 2 to MGS3 was another leap after 3 years. 4 years later MGS4 pushes the new console to do things not possible before, like the other examples. Now, 4 years goes by and games are indistinguishable between now and then. 2019, 2019, 2020, it's all the same. Just loot box bullshit. At least Capcom is making good remakes, if nothing else. And their new Resident Evil titles are creative.
@@CommanderLongJohn THIS. This comment succinctly sums up my feelings of the entire industry that my friends just don't seem to get when I say it's shittier now than 10 years ago. They'll rebute with bUt tHe gRaPhIcS aRe AmaZiNg and that is not even close to the point lol. So thank you 🙏🙏
The thing about this mission is that if you took the time to explore the map abit you could find more people to rescue, like at 0:22 it may look like two enemies just clearing a building but there is another guy inside if you go and check
This was my favorite Spec Ops mission of all time. I always played it on Veteran and tried to beat my best time while saving every civilian and never breaking stealth
@@pillowman3371 You are welcome, now get your brother and redo this mission and save that one last person. Go on RU-vid and search up all rebels in resistance movement or something.
I loved these. Just some sweet ideas that couldn't make it into the main campaign but instead of dumping them they put their cutting room floor content as a side mode. Legendary.
I had the PS3 #1 world record time for this mission during the initial week of release before it got optimized. Also had top 5 times on three or four other ones. This brings me way back.
I don't buy the new games because they don't have survival mode. I don't like multiplayer, and campaign is fun, but I'm not going to have a 100 GB game that I play once a year sitting in my library.
I'm not sure if anyone will ever play MWII 2022 in ten years, but I knew MW3 2011 was a value package from the start, it came in an era where games were meant to last.
You missed the second hostage. He’s back behind that desk where you shot the third and fourth enemies walking around in that building (before the dog runs up with 2 enemies to kill that one hostage)
I honestly just want something like this with skin, gun, and prestige progression, so I don't have to deal with the obnoxious online hacking bullshit anymore.
Pretty clean, like it :D Ye mw2 and mw2 has best special ops, mw 2019 was kinda fun too but I am not sure about mw2 2022 yet, didnt get a person to try them with (sadly mostly are just 1-2 like mw2 and 3 but also didnt get raid token)
I guess that the reason these were stand alone missions in Spec Ops rather than encoporated into Campaign is that they couldn't add them to the story for pacing issues or make them work mechanically; probably a combination of both. Raceyvick's video on MW1 talks about how 70% of CoD MW1 was cut after 3 years in development. Devs in the comments confirming it too. Add that they were churning these out every two years (revolving between Infinity Ward and Treyarch release yearly) and this theory doesn't seem far fetched. Now that they have a lot more people working on them, they can introduce then to the story better and make the free floating objectives like saving civilians or going between stealth and open combat more convincing. They don't have to seperate them into these minigames AS WELL as make them make sense for the story too. Not to say that I wouldn't like some Spec Ops style releases where perhaps we have dedicated Co Op missions which lead to some unlocks kind of like Battlefield 3's Co Op (though please don't lock gun unlocks there, unless they're just cool reskins like MK11 MOD 0 to M14 type beat.) I think we can credit Black Ops II for making these missions more story/campaign focussed and relevant? Like ops that were taking place at them same time but by different operatives.
Back when you wanted the feeling of being in the military or being a military hero and not a crack head with a camo that is supposed to resemble the galaxy while using a 4x scope on an ar with somehow 0 recoil and the ability to jump around like a rabbit in heat
Literally the reason why we don't have modes like this or spec ops from bo2 is because back in the day people claimed "We have too much content" ...... The irony of that
Game companies now do the bare minimum to get their games sold, depending on how popular the title is the less that minimum is, we'll never see love put into a CoD game ever again
U can find a rebel on the second building on your right side (behind the counter), i don't remember if he follows u or not, i've never passed this part 0:39.. I always fuck it up and quit the mission because the game at that time i played it in English and i didn't speak English but i only knew a couple of words and i didn't know how to switch the game's language to Russian or French so i missed a lot of the game's content. GG tho
