Well if you are following along on this 1953 Chevy Truck project truck there are some big scary parts ahead and we handle the biggest one in this episode, dropping the cab back on the new frame! As you hopefully saw in previous episodes there were some complications due to the nose and cab being seam welded and painted so, getting it back on the frame was more than a little scary!
As for the Code 504 frame swap kit, and the engine relocation plates, we are extremely impressed! All the fitment and production is top notch and ready to bolt together on the S-10 chassis, it's honestly a shape all this awesome frame stuff will be completely hidden by the 53 Chevy Truck Body!
As we finish off mounting up brake lines, doing the engine relocation plates, and dropping the cab back on the chassis we are still struggling to find a set of headers that will work for our setup. Unfortunately this is proving to be a more and more complicated repair! But, big progress made in this episode!
Lucore Automotive is a small family owned independent business in Central Ohio just outside the Columbus / Dublin Metro area, our main business is in maintaining daily drivers and work vehicles but as you can see we get our hands on more than a few toys as well. Classic cars, muscle cars, muscle trucks, we have seen a wide range of them over the years and are always here to help!
As always thank you to all of our friends, family, fans, supporters, subscribers, and most of all our customers! Without whom we wouldn't be able to be here doing what we love to do! We hope you enjoy this video, more on this and other projects coming soon!

I just did a code 504 s 10 frame swap on my 51 chevy 5 window cab. very nice kit , I used the set back plates and cast iron manifolds from a 92 chevy truck. cleared but very close to steering linkage and control arms. I have the truck running and driving now but still working on small stuff. very glad I did it, lots of work but worth it.

Saying we are excited to see this project "close" to completed is SUCH a huge rush for us! It's been a pretty long involved process getting this thing done, and done right, but we think our customer will ultimately REALLY be happy with the end product! Hope you all have enjoyed this series so far, just a few more nuts and bolts!

Is that the original 4.3L s10 engine. I have a 1947 3600, I want to do the same thing. I understand an extracab long bed is just about the same wheel base. Great information, thanks.

What oil pan did you end up going with? Also I read that the hooker black hearts work really well on the S10 frame.

Did not see the set back plates on the website. Did you just call and ask for them?

I’m doing the same build with the 504 kit but I’m using a 6.0, has anyone done this swap or have any pointers?
