Panzerfaust26 I think majority of CodeVein is based on Greek Mythology from what I heard. If that’s the case then, it would make sense as to why a Greek Tragedy would take place.
@@drpottymouth Save at least one Successor to at least get the To Eternity ending, save all Successors to get Dweller in the Dark ending. You can "save" them by finding all of their Vestiges. I was only able to Eva on my first playthrough...
Hey, im not doing it because im perverted, if you gave me the power to spin the camera around when my character is having a conversation i will spin the camera around
i like the ending where the player character SPEAKS, i was like "wtf he can talk?" when i saw my character speak at the good ending path XD also, Io best waifu, shes with you at the beginning and she sticks with you on the end, i think her AI is the best one of them all, best girl lore and gameplay wise
@Waldel Martell I only ever got neutral ending. I wasn't going to do the others until I had every Weapon and every Blood Veil to +10, and all Gifts I could possibly get (excluding what I missed throughout the story) I was going to use every partner for the good ending, and play the whole thing solo for the bad ending. I would grind Cannoneer and Bladebearer in the Void District for the +10 materials, and was VERY close to achieving my goal. I had everything that wasn't +10 up to +9. But then I realized that not only was Lv.230 too close to the peak of my power in that game, but also finding out that from the second DLC onward, it was all just "cookie cutter" from the first, only with a different element. Loved the fight against Hellfire Knight. I kinda quit the game after killing him for the first time, though. But nothing the game could ever do to me can compare to the Gilded Hunter. Fuck that guy. Hated every moment of it. Especially when I noticed Poison wasn't working towards the middle.
@Waldel Martell It was fun, at first. The Lv.300 cap was pretty depressing when I heard about it. I loved how it mixed Anime with Dark Souls. I guess that's what kept me going for the longest time. My friend happened to have DLC beyond Hellfire Knight, And told me it was all "cookie cutter". I saw an image for myself, and it looked just like Hellfire Knight, only on ice. Even the attacks were the same, from what I was told. Then he told me about the lightning reskin, and I about had enough. Not gonna lie, though. I was dedicated while my spirit lasted. The journey was fun, but I would have to agree with my friend. If the cutscene has played already, the game shouldn't repeat it, especially within the same playthrough. My favorite Boss was Queen's Knight. He seemed unrelenting and various in his attacks. I also liked Cannoneer and Bladebearer. Kinda gave me an Ornstein and Smough feel, only more of a couple than a brotherly bond. They actually absorbed eachother in the Void District. I have soloed them killing Bladebearer first. I haven't done it yet killing Cannoneer first. And I was HEAVY on Poison usage. My Character, for the most part, was extremely mobile and toxic (biologically, not morally). She had what I like to call the "blue dodge". She wasn't very good with damage, but she hits really quickly, and dodges like a fly. Great for Poison. She was also built for Stamina to keep up her insane mobility. My friend had the opposite approach. I feel like if we ever played together, we would be unstoppable. If PVP were ever a thing, I see myself being a VERY cheap fighter. I like Jack's sword and the Queen's Bayonet. I also like the Blood Veil that gives you "wings". Besides, my timing with that is better than any other Blood Veil. Even the claw one. I think it's because I spent so much time dealing with lag in other games, I'm just more attuned to a slight delay in a parry. It's similar to SSBU, DBX2, and SC6. Dodge, Perfect Block, and Guard Impact are pretty instinctual to me.
i had no idea the vestiges could cause different endings. i restored aurora and eva but realizing now that i could have restored nikolai and emily, im pretty damn upset. yakumo is one of my favorite characters so realizing i could have saved emily is especially depressing
Same bro, I restored Aurora and Eva's, but didn't do the other two fml.. Heard people say start over, but im not good at the game so i pushed forward and got the 2nd ending.. it was at least bitter sweet, my next run I'll make sure to get the Perfect ending :D
I think I missed Nicolas because the prompt didnt show up, so I ended up walking out... I only missed his I could have had the good ending on a blind playthrough (I got neutral ending)
I didn't know either but I try to be thorough when exploring so I thought restorations were an obvious thing players would have to deliberately ignore.
I'm pretty sure I'd get the true ending since I did fully explore those areas for vestiges and stuff. And it's on my 1st playthrough, too. But at the moment, I am trying to get to max level cap of 300 (currently at 205)
@@thelibrarian7193 Yea way too freeform. I wouldn't say experimental since it has the essences of a traditional soundtrack of its calibur. The goal was obviously to make it standout but they got distracted and overproduced the fuck out of it. As a standalone soundtrack? Its really nice but overall it is pretty mediocre to the game itself. In other words, distracted is the best way to put it.
Honestly u can't get bad ending unless u really want it or try to speed run this game because u need to save atleast 2 successors ( for those who don't know : restore their vestiges before fight and restore their memories after ) to get normal/good ending and yeah none of them deserved what they got in bad ending
@@abrahmzp1304 Thank you game assumption for making me restore aurora vestiges under the misguided assumption that I have to restore them before crossing the ominous barrier...
So I got the best ending.. That isn't what I want.. I wanted IO to stay by my side. Turns out, there's no ending where IO lives.. *Thanks game.* *I'm not depressed.*
She didn’t turn into ash when she turned to stone, could be preservation method, so when the revenant wakes up again she could be their, but that’s just hypothesis...
When I accidentially killed Emily, I realized that there were alternate endings for each fight. Also that vestiges could have more than two pairs. I restarted that and saved Emily proper, and powered through each area after to be 1000% sure I had all of their pieces. To think I could have gotten a worse ending if not for a tiny bit of an oversight. But MAN does that Golden Ending feel good!
I got the good ending because I tend to do everything within the game. Ironically, I had Io as my partner in the last boss fight. I got to say this game got me by surprise, I didn't expect this game to have good mechanics and interesting story.
I originally intended to go back through the game and get all of the endings, but I ended up getting the best possible ending on the first go. After that, I literally could not physically bring myself to start a new game. Everything was just too perfect and starting over would feel wrong.
but they are not because in God eater the early ones died going berzerk during the first Aragami conflict this game is about a Queen and this guys are undead infected with a parasyte cloned from the queen so they can fight her but after her death a red mist covered the whole world in different parts also she caused calamity after another and humans were reduced to rubble there still is a human govermant and i guess a human city stil standing since they never said the govermant is dead or anything but they have to protect straggles and runaways and not allowed to touch humans but there is no one supervising the original red mist outbreak area so they are in charge
Probably they are a parallel experiment with Oracle cells. Fenrir created God eaters using bias factor derived from Oracle cell, and Cerberus created revenants using BOR factor. God eaters gained aragami's physical strength while revenants their immortality. Probably revenants were discarded cause of all the cons: memory loss, corruption and frenzy state, needs of human Blood. And they (probably) cant use God arcs, now the only weapons able to kill aragami. To all this add the frenzy Queen problem: it's not so strange to suppose that they simply were left to die and the project was abandoned.
@@notoriousbig3k dont forget the queen came after the great collapse, and the BOR parasite wasnt clones from the queen, Cruz happaned to be the most compatible with the parasite and became the queen once she frenzied
God Eaters really aren't much without a God Arc in hand. Revenants are more atonomous (and even the PC's ability to gain more abilities through blood is extremely similar to GE2). The frenzy is a serious problem but then again, their operation time as a military power are INFINITELY bigger than a God Eater (immortal, no Oracle Cell decay, etc etc)
Actually, Code Vein and God Eater is in the same universe but Code Vein's timeline is not clear yet. However, in the story, your character's are REVENANTS, which are technically artificially created vampires. In the lore that was established in game, research into bio-organisms was advancing technology, with new discoveries that they believed could be breakthroughs in medical science. One such discovery was the BOR parasite. This parasite could reconstitute itself but needed a form of organic matter to survive. However, not long after that discovery, an event called the GREAT COLLAPSE occurred. This event described the rise of being that ravaged the world, and Devoured everything in their path. This cataclysm led to the creation of revenants. Humans, injected with the BOR parasite at a certain level, which resuscitated the body, augmenting them with super human abilities while allowing the host to maintain control. Sadly, the process had one serious side effect--- the craving for blood. Now skipping most of the plot points, Queen and all that--- we come to one of the bosses and he reveals that everyone seems to have forgotten why THEY (Revenants) were created in the first place. He then shows that beyond the red mist are monsters, ie Dyaus Pita, (aragami) and explains that they were made to fight off those things. But while they were trapped in Vein, via the red mist, the monsters (they call them Horrors) proceeded to evolve and devour the world. It's a subplot that becomes A MAJOR PLOT point towards the end of the story. Edit: Also, do note that Louis and Karen have the surname of Amamiya (possibly just a coincedence) which is also the surname of Lindow and his sister. This is just a speculation but according to you guys what just said, Fenrir and Cerberus actually similar. Fenrir has the Bias Factor and Oracle Cells while the Cerberus has the BOR Parasite. Both are believed to be breakthrough in medical science. However, Oracle Cells grow and evolve much faster. There is a BIG blank slate in the past story of Code Vein and God Eater even though we suffiecient information. Let's just hope GE4 or CV2 happens and we'll get a connection and clarification for the story.
You want to know the bad thing about that everyone other than Lewis are going to wind up like the previous successors in timebut this time there will be no carrier the blood to help them.
I want to agree but im currently doing new game plus with the goal of doing that very thing. im not looking forward to it... maybe ill just skip the cutscenes.
Well there's a season pass, so there will be dlc, period. They're in a contract to create the dlc. The story is rather concise too, so I imagine (and hope) that the dlc will take place afterwards. Not sure how we're supposed to fight Aragami tho :l
@@AuthorityCat maybe new weapons. I mean ours apparently work wonders but it's possible we might have God arks that arent attached to us like they are to God eaters.
Though revnants may not even need god arcs since they can drain blood, jacks line "eat or be eaten. If those are our choices then i choose to eat" is also something that's true in god eater. God eaters eat gods to avoid being eaten themselves....
@@Ghghost43 yeah. We might not if that's the case. But honestly I kinda don't want to be in the GE universe and aragami just game through some kind of rift to get to vein and started a complete extinction event
I got the bad end first time, never knew if you got all the vestiges in a successors area and restored them you can help the successor and bring them back, also the “bad end” hurt BAD upon watching Io turn to ash and Louis sitting on the throne.
4:16 - 8:15 You made my husbando cry and have to sit on the throne, and everyone else go into an eternal slumber (even if the guys look adorable sleeping)...you broke my heart... I hate sad/depressing endings, even if happy endings are not guaranteed in life... Makes me also wonder, do Coco, Murasame and Davis know they took on the relics or did they just "disappear" suddenly??
Man! bad ending is actually the most emotional one... I would be soooo depressed... I knew I missed Nicola's memory on my very first try and then I restarted the game, kind of regret it now lol
I didn't even know I had to restore the memories in order to get a good ending, because I never really explored and found all the vestiges beforehand until the third successor fight. Now I have to go through the game knowing I won't get the best ending until I do NG+
Yeah, I second that! I also wondered if she IS the tree now, or if she just died creating it. I hope it is the former, then, perhaps there still is a chance....
@@Cyon2012 if you restore all of her vestiges, and get the good ending, the "IO" at the end sounds like its out of surprise/shock, so I am hoping she is there. I could be looking into it to much, or could just be wrong... But god I hope she makes it though
That's the one I got slated with. I can't say I love it, but it's better than the Hiers ending. At least I was able to save Eva on my very first playthrough.
If you take a look at the heirs ending... Our character was taking way too long to fire the crystals. Could be that we're resisting every step of the way. The rest hesitated, as if too shocked to react. Jack was about to attack, having slightly been used to successors frenzying in front of him, but Louis stopped him. Its likely that if Jack stood and attacked upfront the queen's will to live would quickly overcome ours, leading to us killing our friends relatively quickly... Which Louis circumvented by sneaking up behind. Oof. Don't even mention that Louis cried, and that small huff at the end before giving our character a guarantee that he'll fix this, somehow. And that way of fix, haha, said friends probably had our death in their minds and a heavy burden on their shoulders as they resist frenzying. For eternity, le sigh. I have this very bad feeling that our friends that left us in there went 'jack mode'. As in, all "We will stand guard/keep you safe/not let your sacrifice be in vain" mode where they most likely deterred anyone from disturbing our character. Oh dear. Probably tons of times more protective since MC holds all, if not most of the relics right now, in which if you discuss the quantity of the will needed to keep sane would probably be around undertale's Frisk level of determination, if not more. Scary thought. If what they did in heirs was any indication, that is. The last ending, dwellers, came with the sacrifice of one cherished. Double oof. No analysis need to be made, everyone's obviously sad over Io in the ending. Arguably the most happy ending anyone can get, espescially since there's debate over Io being alive. Why I typed such a long comment? Because after getting the good ending and seeing the bad and neutral ones, I have this urge to just scream. TvT
Yep, the game is depressing enough as it is, and then the endings just rub the goddamn salt in. *sees the bad ending* Yeah, this is way too dark. Everyone's suffering and it's only a matter of time until they all frenzy. *sees the throne ending* Welp, I guess I'm the God-Emperor of Mankind now. At least Io will stay with me... wait, WHY ARE YOU TURNING TO STONE *sees the "good" ending* Did you people give us the best girl only to make losing her that much worse?
So... Ending one: Bad end Ending two: FF15 alike Ending three: True end going to God Eater area. Edit: WOW! Thanks for the like ya'll! Yes, there is a 4th ending. Sorry I never knew. Only got the 3rd ending.
I was curious because I heard there were multiple endings and holy crap I am so glad that since I'm such a try hard I got all the vestiges and the good ending without even meaning too, I must've used up all my good luck on that
Interesting touch that you never fight Virgin in the Bad Ending. Was confused when I first heard about this but seeing the ending now makes sense, to some degree at least.
I know how you feel, I got the same ending first. I was only able to save Eva, I didn't realize until then you could save the other Successors. From NG+ I was absolutely livid about pursuing ALL Vestiges, I will save them all.
I didn't get the bad ending but godamn... Io saying "Rest Well" and her crumbling apart.... she didn't deserve that kind of fate... that scene will be marked as remembered in my mind... still I hope no one ever gets the bad ending... because if they do it will leave them empty..
I really enjoyed the endings, the first one is so sad, you didn't acomplished anything just repeated the cycle, adding new successors to a new life of torment(our friends on that case). The second ending you supress the relics and becomes the new Silva, the worlds keeps unchanged, at least it is a little better cause your friends are safe, and depending on who had their memories restored that could lead to some interesting interactions and a sequel maybe. The third ending was awasome, i really enjoyed it and it was the one i got on my first run, there are no needs for the successors to exist anymore, everyone is back to what they are supposed to be, and are building their lifes again, in the hopes of a better future. Io is dead and that is a shame, but life is full of those moments, my grandma died recently and only after that i really understood the meaning of death, the person may be gone but the good memories and our feelings remains, it is sad and hard to lose someone important, but that person probably doesn't want to see you sad so we shall move on and never forget that person. Going back to Io, her sacrifice was so noble and significant, if it weren't for her actions the world inside the mist would still be a hell-hole ,but she gave hope to everyone by granting a great suply of blood beeds, and with the help of Aurora and Karen things are probably going to get better on the mist-world, plus the protagonist and his friends leaving the mist-world fulfill the objective on project QUENN, or at least what i understood of it, reavanents going out to fight the aragami so they might find a way to properly end them.
Devs: And the Third ending is the "good" ending! Me: Yeah right, tell that to Io and Cruz! You could miracle cheeze save all side characters but NOT those two?!
Little late, but you literally murdered Cruz (though I agree), so it's a bit harder. Also, some people are saying that Io might've lived and appeared at the end of the good ending
@titanium4082 Its quite likely that if you gather all the relics and don't put them in a person, that Cruz/Queen will reapear. The whole deal with the relics is that they learned she would not remain dead after we killed her. So they trapped and split her in the relics, rendering her too weak to regenerate.
Considering we absorb all the other relics one by one with no problem I always wondered what it would have been like if we had the chance to do so with all of them instead of getting the mass absorption of all of the relics from Silva. Like maybe the reason we frenzy in the heirs ending is because it was just too much all at once instead of one by one with time to assimilate the relics in between.
@@daviddelgadillo4502 ... Thank you. I didn't knew and just explored the last three worlds like crazy and just got the ability to save the two last without real explaination. I'm feeling dumb now.
I got the neutral ending on my first playthrough. I had a gut feeling to get all the vestiges early, and restored each of them every time, but I couldn't find Nicola's, so I decided to just do the fight and find his last vestige later. Little did I know, you have to obtain all of them and restore the vestiges BEFORE defeating the boss and entering the cutscene, because you cant go back. Once they're gone, they're gone. TFW You save a milf and your bros girl, (or at least sort of save them), but accidentally kill a child without realizing. I then proceeded to spend the next 24(?) hours grinding for both endings. ALSO FUCK THE CATHEDRAL.
My already depressed ass finds out there's multiple endings to this awsome game I just bought, so finds out how to get them them by looking it up, is then interested in what they are. Am now extremely depressed
well, she basically became a plant, and karen was also a semi-plant when she was a successor, so theres a chance Io could make herself a new body for a sequel (if this ending becomes canon for the sequel) besides the player character at the very end turns back as if he was looking at someone, so as far as my interpretation of the lore goes, Io is alive and well she just needs a new body by the same method the queen created all the attendants
@@Wolfrich666 The only issue is you're no longer a successor so you wouldn't *Get* an attendant, so it depends if she remembers any of it, if not then she'd not even notice you as important.
@@rockstar292 that's a flawed logic, the moment she decided to take the relics for herself she became independent of her original purpose, if you take her to the gate before the final boss and she talks to the other attendants they recognize Io as no longer a normal attendant as shes no longer following the directives the queen gave her, shes with the player character on her own will at that moment, so she no longer needs the player character to be a successor for her to want to be at its side
and technically, you don't *own* the queenslayer blood code anymore, so are you really a void-type, or was that only because of the relic of the blood?
it makes it pretty obvious that you should get the vestiges by putting an attendant before each successor, and directly calling attention to them the first time they appear
I got the game 2 days ago and I just finished and I got the true ending. I was sad when that happened to Io. Now that I'm looking at the other endings, I am so glad I got the true ending, but I'm still sad for Io.
If you chose not to go into enhanced difficulty for NG+, you’ll be incredibly over-leveled for most of the game’s content and one-shot everything up until the last few areas of the game. I missed 1 fragment for Emily so I entered NG+ on normal difficulty and beat the game again in like 5 or so hours
No way I'd do multiple playthroughs, or bust my ass trying to get all 3/4 endings. Such a unfulfilling end to a drawn out journey. Glad I got this free on PSN...
The ending depend on what will you do but there is one thing that inevitable..... IO will sleep forever and you may not see her again!I think even the best ending with players,it'll be the worst ending with our characters....
And as you guys can see after playing all God Eater series and CODE VEIN,the worst living creature in the world was not Revenants, not the Losts, not the Hunters...It is the human, human's desire!
First try, got the best ending... i felt something was off when Aurora survived and Eva died.. restated the game and collecte all the goddamn vestige even the unimportant..
notoriousbig3k might be true but they could left it off for the gamer imagination but it really up to them and the dlc yo determined about IO I can’t wait
@@notoriousbig3k the tone the voices use is more surprise than resignation so it seems to imply he saw Io alive there. Again julius from Godeater 2 became a tree and then came back from that so who knows
