Some of you have requested to see how to code the G20 to start in Sport or Sport + Mode. Thankfully it’s any easier mod and you can do it fairly quickly. Should work with any new 2019 + 3 series and likely the 4 series as well. All you need is Bimmercode and an OBD2 plug. Feel free to ask any questions below.

Great channel. Thanks for all the help! Quick question though..is there a way to get the three m stripes (next to 0mph) while in sport mode if the car is not an m sport package model? I was able to get this coded but the ///M logo appears at the top which i feel is a bit overkill. Is there a way to code those m colors in without the ///M logo? I know it sounds trivial but it’s the little things i guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

I believe there is, there’s in an option I believed called only Msport when choosing to change the dash. I would need to look more into it to confirm but what you describe is what my car has.

Hi, I have a question. I started using bimmercode to coding my vehicle (2022 x4). I purchased vLinker Bluetooth OBD adapter, and using bluetooth to connect to bimmercode. But it is really slow to load up coding data. Initial loading takes more than 5 minutes, and coding takes more than 5 minutes. I'm afraid what if my car battery die during coding. So would you mind to advise me how to load up and coding fast as your video? Thanks for your help.

Its the Bluetooth adapter you’re using. Those are known to pretty slow. The MHD Black Adapter I use codes in under a minute. You can also try a wired connection if you want to spend less.

is sports plus a difference vs normal sport mode? Im driving 320D G20, not having sport+. Is it a good mode ? And is this mode save for your engine / motor? can it affect warranty? thank you

It does make a difference. Sport + will hold higher revs before shifting gears. Will also shift a bit more aggressively. I enjoy it but it’s all personal opinion. It shouldn’t affect the warranty in any way since it’s a mode that is offered in some countries default from the factory. Not sure if it’s offered on diesel models though.

Sport is kind of like comfort with just the valves opened and a lil faster throttle response.

Warranty will only ever be voided if something you added to your car or modded in can be identified as causing the issue. For example if you added Bootmod3, went stage 2 and blew out your stock chargepipe they can say that’s been voided from the warranty because Bootmod3 likely affected it. Not 100% they will say that but it’s very possible. Alpina gauges and sport mode are things created by bmw and used in their stock cars from factory. They can’t blame them for causing issues
