BIGGEST Learning MISTAKES That Hold Beginner Programmers Back
If you’re getting annoyed at the slow rate of your progress with learning to code, then even just making one of the mistakes I am about to talk about in this video could be massively slowing down how fast you learn and obliterating your progress of actually becoming good at programing.
And how do I know that? Well because I made EVERY SINGLE one of them, and when I stopped doing them, things changed…a lot.
I will warn you, some of these will not be easy to hit - learning to code is not easy - this is a difficult, and abstract skill that takes a lot of effort to master.
but they are the things I just wish someone had shaken me and screamed in my face “TUOMAS, STOP DOING THESE THINGS” so I might have actually paid attention.
So in this video, I am going to be hopping in a time machine to take you back to these mistakes...

Quick Summary : Mistakes when learning to code : 1 - Learn by heart (learn programming is more about understand core principles common to many programming languages) 2 - Learn everything at once (focus on what you need for your project / or future work and stick to it instead of looking for the "new shinny famous language") 3 - Expect to learn code by doing something else than writing lines of code … 4 - Watching without applying (better to learn by building stuff and applying theory/ new knowledge to your project)

I'm sure there's some flaws to my approach but what got me going to school for web development was the projects that I wanted to be able to build. Throughout school, following all of the online classes, instead of recoding the apps that the instructor was making I was coding parts of the apps I wanted to build as they went over the different concepts. This led to the course taking more time and me having to do a lot of independent research just to complete the project but I think that's where the learning really happens.

Your message rings very true to me, and not just regarding programming. I’ve been interested in computer graphics and ray tracing since the eighties, but haven’t done anything meaningful about it for decades. So, for the last couple of years I’ve been looking into Blender. And man, have I been watching tutorials. I’ve watched so many tutorials I think I could say that that has become a hobby in itself. And just like you said in the video, you don’t actually learn if you don’t apply your skill in actual projects.

You're automation tester bro?? Can you give me a path to learn automation tester and what is difference between tester and qa engineer?
@jackweaver5840
@jackweaver5840 Год назад
@@zaybmalik8149 it depends on what background you have, if you are a developer and you want to get into automation development and testing, you need to learn testing fundementals and hoe to automate testing sense you already know how to code, if your completely new and you want to break into the testing and automation world you can start by learning the application lifecycle and dive into testing fundementals and learn manual testing and learn different kinds of tests and how to think like a tester and to think of use cases and scenarios to test the application, and after that you can learn a programming language like Java to get a good grsap of OOP fundementals and then learn an automation framework such as selenium, after you have a good base, you can switch to another programming language and a more modren testing framework, the difference between manual QA and automation is that manual QA manually tests the software without touching code, tests inputs and outputs and focus on edge cases and user experience and find bugs, automation testing is writing code test scripts for the computer to test the software, automation development is developing the logic and code so you can write tests based on that framework, overall automation is part of the testing world because you develop code to test the application and it is a bridge between testing and development and little devops (CI CD) I hope i gave you a high level picture.

I think, to apply the third point, one doesn't have to get any 'important-market surprise-life changer' project. Just do anything that's attractive for you, or even stupid. If you want to learn C++, make an uneven programming language for fun or rebuild a videogame... plants vs zombies 2? Everything is not perfect, but when you've put in practice your new knowledge in something that's better than "nothing", you can start focusing on whats valuable. So make something random but that stills may challenge you.

Hey Tomas, i know some basic python from youtube, i practice in codewars, i am currently approaching 1kyu, i want to take it seriously, i mean i want to be job ready, and i feel i need to learn a lot, i don’t 've a mentor, neither do i have enough money/credit card to buy courses, can you show me a way, how can i learn enough python to get a job, i am willing to work for my mentor to pay him back, if he teaches me to be job ready,

Bro I stopped coding with my online bootcamp cause I couldn't memorize everything, and as I only have 30min with my mentor so nobody can explain me how to get my work done I have to look on Google or somewhere else. Bro I'm gonna learn I to code myself but AI is helping me with the codes and explanation is that a bad way of learning ??

We no worry about coding. We just upgrade our skills everything will come automatically. While learning anything or any new skills, take pen and paper note all points. Because upcoming days it will be very helpful for us. We can't able to remember everything!😇
