@@dlingfasin6826 WM sold out without Rock, as did the weekly shows. TV ratings barely went up with the biggest movie and wreslting superstar in the world getting involved. They changed the plans because the match would have been dumped on by a large portion of the crowd.

@@L2DaK2Dap people already turned on cody literally on the first month and a half of his boring reign. He doesnt have it in him, he was always destined to be the runner up or the midcarder. WM included the rock and the bloodline who are actual draws people recognise. The people that turned on this were the hardcore smarks which Hunter listens more now without Vince. The show now has been absolutely carried by the judgement day stuff with Dom and priest etc. Cody needs to either turn homelander or drop the title

According to the documentary triple h himself said he talked to Cody just before the rumble telling him that there was a very good chance that they would go with rock vs Roman. It sucks it’s wrestling though. The only thing I hate seeing on the internet right now are those defending rock and Roman or whatever (I’m assuming a small majority) but I’ve seen headlines of like “was Cody wrong for going into business for himself” I hate that cause I don’t see how Cody went into business for himself. I honestly don’t see how anyone in Cody’s position capsule have accepted winning the rumble for a second straight year but then give up their spot at wm to the rock. I get it he’s the rock but but that still wasn’t right. Any writer whether it was geritz or any of the wwe writing team hell even triple h had to know there was no way Cody was going to go out there acting like an excited fanboy and say “here rock please kick Roman’s but for me and take the title I’ve been busting my ass for 2 years trying to get.” With a joyful smile. If he really went into business for himself he would have flipped the script he has that pull. In the end though wwe listened to the fans (sorry but the one thing I find hard to believe is that the rock all by himself decided to change direction I don’t believe that he had a vote I’m sure but he didn’t tell triple h to change plans.) also one of my favorite parts of the whole wm buildup had to be Seth’s “diareaha Dwayne” idk how something that ridiculous worked but I think that’s why I still find it so funny cause it seemed like Seth was shocked that worked lol.

It was such a special moment, from the brutal match itself to all the run-ins to Samantha Irving's voice breaking as she announced the dawn of a new era, Rock/Roman wouldn't have been anything close to that.

@@Triple-Four shinsuke and Auska were dealt with Vince’s hand i feel if it was under triple h he definitely would have them over especially auska who was undefeated heading into the main roster and Cody losing actually made it much more rewarding at WM 40 because there was more story behind the lost and on going feud with bloodline if he won at 39 fans would have turned on Cody much quicker than any other wrestler had they been in same shoes as Cody. That feud heading into WM 39 only had like 3 months of build up while Roman himself was champion for almost 1,000 days

The original main event for WM 30 was supposed to be Batista vs Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Daniel Bryan was supposed to face Sheamus to complete their WM trilogy that started back at WM 27.

I wish they had told us the plan…because that night cm punk wasn’t injured so the plan was Seth vs punk to main event night 1 and rock vs Roman main event night 2…so Cody wins the rumble and then dosent face the champ…what was gonna be his match at mania? They should have made punk win… but then he got injured so yeah but still they didn’t know punk would get injured

WrestleMania 29 match should've been a triple threat match. Everyone wins, Punk main events WrestleMania, Cena gets win over both the guys he couldn't beat. Plus, some feuds are better having just one match between them in one on one matches, which would've still been "Once in a lifetime" had it only had happened at WrestleMania 28. Maybe Undertaker faces Y2J, or Sheamus, or Orton again, who he hadn't had a pay per view match since Armageddon 2005?
