legitimately how it feels to be offered coffee at someone's home when in Britain. Either it's going to be the best most painstakingly crafted drink you've ever had.... or undissolved Folger's crystals in chunky lukewarm Thames water.
Are you guys for real? I always thought Brits generally like some good home-brew coffee (like the rest of Europe, and most coffee drinkers, I guess?). Is it seriously not common in Britain to have a nice coffee blend at home?
@@Lunathiel_ Like a say, it's a fifty-fifty prospect. Either they do drink coffee and they have very high standards- or they don't drink coffee and just bought some instant crystals for guests.
Watching this when I was 13, I remember thinking 'Wow, David Lynch is really sick of all the talk about coffee!' It feels like the old bellhop (?) is mocking the infatuation.
The last time I watched Twin Peaks was about 6-7 years ago and revisiting these scenes gives me super weird feeling, because I literally have dreams like that now. I didn't before, but now I do. It kinda feels like I finally got the same mental disturbances that Lynch had when he wrote this stuff. IDK if I like it or hate it.
@@adannielsen2442 Lol, it can be seen as a blessing, but it can be pretty disturbing. For example, today I woke up remembering a scene of present-time me sitting in my high school's cafeteria (mind the fact that I finished said school in 2014) and talking to past-me. And I was telling her (me?) some weird things, like "Look, these girls there - they will not like you. Stay away from them. And what's the price of a cheeseburger in this place near the school now? It's SUPER low, it's gonna be double that in a few years, so remember you're kinda lucky" xD
@@Lunathiel_what the fuck?! I had the same dream! Only I was sitting in a school cafeteria(I didn’t even recognize it! It was grey all over and the table I was sitting at was closest to the stage since this school had a cafeteria with a stage) and there were people in front of me. A woman in a white dress and some others that wore blood red suits. I said “aw man I want to wear that!” And they replied “you will soon…” and suddenly everyone started making hand fart sounds with their hands underneath the table while laughing maniacally. There was a red wine glass In front of me and I said “I’m too young to drink…” VERY LYNCHIAN! Even the dialogue was Lynchian!
@@nerdyworld938 Oh boy, that's SUPER Lynchian indeed! 🙃 That's exactly the kind of dreams I was talking about - they're random and weird as fuck, but at the same time, there's enough structure to make it seem like a scene from a movie. It's what makes it so creepy, that it has a realistic timeline and theoretically could happen, but also, it doesn't make any freaking sense xD
Honestly, the effect on the screwed-up coffee (when The Arm mentally turns it gelatinised and solid) is really good. Everything I see and hear of Twin Peaks makes me want to watch it even more.
Oh, yeah. Deadly Premonition, that Resident Evil 4 clone with a plot inspired partly by the game it copies, but moreso by Twin Peaks. Coffee was apparently one of protagonist York's means of experiencing the titular premonitions in the game.
Alex Summers: You, Val Cooper, seem to be enjoying this tremendously. Val: Oh, I AM. I have a brother who's an FBI agent. And I am so tired of him telling me about these exciting cases he gets. Like, for instance, this girl they found. She was dead... wrapped in plastic... but that stuff will be tame compared to what X-Factor gets involved with.
If you want to get deep - Agent Cooper shows the dwarf 3 phases of the moon: New/eclipse, first quarter and waning crescent - the same combination, I believe, Andrew packages uses to open the puzzle box. Always sad that Cooper opened more than he bargained for ;_;
@@bloodorange6713 as long as david lynch explains nothing, there will be theories about everything. i wouldn't say it's sad though, it's a good show. nice to see a self titled fan these days
Unfortunately, this sequence can no longer be found on the Internet, although it existed until recently. If by chance you find it, can you let me know ?
This is very much of its time. Had it been made in 2023 it would be scripted as “A Caramel Frappuccino Blended Beverage with soya milk and extra caramel”.
