There was back in those ancient times a band that got some radio play for a while, the song(s) I don't really recall anything about, tho I might if I heard it/them again; and the name of the band was The Butthole Surfers. And as you do when you're young, or at least as you do moreso when you're young, because to some extent you probably never stop entirely, I just accepted the band's name as FACT, whole and inviolable. (This was also back before 1337 speak, txt type, and the acronym-i-zation of language.) It wasn't until one morning on the ride to school when their song started playing, my mom came over kind of funny and said "you know, I was thinking about it...what this band's name means... butthole...surfers." and she just kind of left the thought hanging in the air like that. The thought finished itself pretty naturally in my head, it's not like I had to think about it and then later had a "eurika! I've got it!" moment later in class. What surprised me most was how long I had gone without even once dissecting the words for meaning.

You really believe that? Lots of women say that until they have the child and want to give the the best life they can. There are over a thousand cases in the USA in which the woman had signed a contract not to seek child support if the dad gave up rights the child and all but 3 won the case.

@SmolBee the system isn’t perfect but the only unfair thing about that scenario you mentioned is that she changed her mind. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Shit happens. Men are fully capable of using protection or getting a vasectomy if they don’t want children. The state I’m in grants the potential father the opportunity to sign over rights to the child relieving them of child support. And since the 90’s no one is allowed to add a name to the birth certificate if that person isn’t present and/or willing to sign it themselves. (Literally fraud & the hospital can be sued). Sounds pretty fair to me.

The sad part in those stories is that those women were married and fooled by their husbands. Their wives thought they wanted their baby, they had no reason to think differently. In this case she wanted the baby even though he didn't want children and they weren't even together. It by no means gives him an excuse to murder her and its wrong, but she also was moving forward with having a man's baby who didn't want nor supported it. I wish women would stop picking shitty men and get stable relationships or get therapy.. It only hurts the child regardless and the man ends up hating the woman.

In 20- 30 years he'll be free again and in the meanwhile, 3 hots and a cot, a job he likes (cooking in the prison), reading, watching TV, whatever else, and Kassanndra and her baby/ies go on being dead. Justice would be trading his life and resurrecting Kassanndra. Since that's not possible, the death penalty for him (and anyone else involved, because there is NO way he worked alone), will suffice, and nothing less than that.

Kudos that they caught Colin, but I think they've stopped with him while I don't believe for a second that the gf (whom he moved in 1 1/2 weeks prior to the murder), his roommate, and his brother (who lives only a couple blocks from where he dumped Kassanndra's body & where he hid out while cops investigated his house), aren't complicit. In fact, considering the gf's past (her daughter was removed from her custody for physical abuse), I suspect she might have done the planning, or at least encouraged him. She and the roommate continue to happily live together in the house where Kassanndra was murdered, to this day.

Kassanndra was raised in the PNW and taught how to stay safe from psychos. I will never understand why she couldn't see him for the poisonous reptile he is when I saw it in the first instant I met him. When I was 13 I was in AZ & nearly bitten by a rattlesnake, but my dad saw it & threw a knife, hit & killed the snake, pinning it to the ground at my feet. I was freaked out & said "it didn't rattle! I never even saw it!" and my dad told me, "sometimes snakes don't rattle, you've got to see them even when they're silent. I saw this one, you'll have to see the next one." He dried that rattle and gave it to me, I have it to this day. I should have done the same for my daughter when I spotted the snake at her feet. I will never forgive myself.

Yes!! When she said that they found the car at the dome and the phone pinged at point defiance I knew she was already gone. I remember how long it takes to get to point defiance from the base, there’s no way she would have went by herself

It’s not that simple sadly. You can’t just sign your rights away without someone to take their place.

Not that easy. If the mom goes for state assistance, the father can pay for it because they don't want to pay for a kid the mother wasn't stable to have on her own in the first place. Also, the court can still make you pay depending on what county it occurs in and what the state laws are. They might slightly reduce the amount at first but it won't be much. They will also keep trying to raise the shit out of it as the kids get older.

In MI if a woman has to apply for any kind of state assistance(medical,food) they are required to give the name of the childs father, then the state orders them(if they wont willingly) to take a dna test and then the state sets up a child support order (the state takes out fees from the support for processing and medicaid ect). If you will not give the name or tell them you dont know(possibly could get away with "not knowing" if you lived in a larger area but in a small town everyone knows everyones buisness)they will consider you non compliant and deny you any services. Known of situations like this where the father did not want the child but if he is the father and ordered to pay support he has rights to the child and shared custody... And the mothers fear for their children's safety as the father does not want the child but takes them to spite the mother. Scary situations MI creates for children.

But I wish they would have better laws regarding having children such as having written documents that either the father and mother will support and want that child or not but everything is about religion in this country *sigh*. Such as if you sign the document at the court house with your ID, it is game over. If a woman has a baby and he said he didn't want it, you're on your own for support, if he says he wants it and changes his mind, he's sol and stuck financially paying for it for 18 years. At that time the mother can choose to have it 100 percent alone, abort, or give up for adoption and people can't abuse the system and try to spite their partners. I think it would also make people more accountable in their actions as well. It should also be a law that the parents have to be identified. If the mom sleeps around with 20 people, then they go down the list until the DNA confirms it and the mother should pay the legal fees for the tests. Women have all the power when it comes to children and it isn't right. Some women trick men into having kids and vice versa and it is absolutely disgusting. Obviously rape is different, but thats always been an exception that needs its own support and needs to have laws revisited.
