অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ সত্যি টা তুলে ধরার জন্য। আমি একজন প্রেসিডেন্সিয়ান এবং কফি হাউস আমার মতে একটি জঘন্য জায়গা। হ্যাঁ, আমরাও exist করি। আমার মতে আড্ডা দেওয়ার জন্য কফি হাউসের চেয়ে কলেজ স্কোয়্যার বেশি উপযুক্ত। কলেজ স্কোয়্যারের লেবু চা কফি হাউসের কফির তুলনায় অনেক সুস্বাদু। তাছাড়াও, টাকা খরচ করে ওখানকার 'বেয়াড়া'দের রোঁয়াব সহ্য করার কোনো মানেই হয় না। আমার মতে, পুরনো ইমোশনগুলোকে সম্মান করলেও (মান্না দে-র গানে) বর্তমান অবস্থাটা সবার জানা উচিত।
So if you're not a frequent customer there ,they instantly spot you. It's their instinct. They tell you to order fast and once you're done eating, they straight on tell to leave. Even though there are people sitting there for hours without ordering anything. Also they make you sit with other people if they find you new to the place, even though the other section of the cafe is empty. The waiters there are not nice. I know lots of emotions are attached to lots of people but honestly I don't really relate to that place. For me, it's another overhyped, overrated cheap cafe.
U know what me and my x was visiting clg street and was looking for few books so after shoping ... we felt hungry and I was like obviously coffee house, a place which I wanted to visit for soooo long and heard so many good things from my father.. after entering we opted for the balcony section and ordered the servers came and asked for our order I was like can you please give us some water we will be decided by then well he left came back within 5 min without any water and asked again so we ordered and ... and I asked for water again , then he brought us food(it was hedious ),, again no water..so I asked again so after 4 times of asking we got to have some water this was in mid April btw .. anyway as soon as we finished the food server came within a minute or so he asked if I need anything else(just a formality they know you won't order anything)and gave me the bill and after returning my change they litreally asked if you are done please leave to much rush today(rush with atleast 5 tables empty within my field of vision)... I mean what the hell man from entry to exit I felt like I was in a race...and my x asks should we leave some tip,, I was like we r the one who deserves the tip...never going there again..

আমি একটু পুরোনো লোক, তাই nostalgia, memories তো কিছুটা থাকবেই. But এইভাবে টাকা চাওয়া ta একেবারেই ভালো লাগলো না. Earlier Shahbaz of "Foodzpah" had also pointed this out. এই episode ta দেখার পর মনে হচ্ছে Coffee Houseএর সেই আড্ডা তে আর কোনোদিন বোধহয় যাওয়া হবে না.....যেতে ইচ্ছে করবে না.

Yes.....prochur overrated....and the food is like taka diye abeg kena😅......but for the ambience and the feel The Coffee House will remain the same❤❤....BTW Big Fan Dada😁❤

Don't know how coffee house is termed 'iconic' by kolkatans. There are branches of this restaurant in other cities, with better food and management, however, haven't been accorded the status of icon there. Think kolkata should be selective when granting any place iconic status. Other than history, this place has nothing special or differentiating to write home about. Presently, aantlamo aar baantlamo chhara kichui hoy na okhane.

I don't like the behaviour and service of Indian Coffee House, their behaviour is worst and so the food. Last time I went and it was during the month of March so it was a pretty warm weather, I was sitting in the same place at the balcony and since it was a hot weather and I went on a sunny day around 1pm so I went straight ahead and tried to switch on the fan and one of their attendant suddenly came and switched off the fan. When I again tried to switch it on, they stepped ahead and stopped me doing it by saying i cannot switch on the fan, when I asked why they just behaved so pathetic as if they are doing me a favour.

The manager ( the person who was misbehaving in the counter ) should receive a tight slap if he continues to behave like this.. He is clearly willing to harass customers.. Food quality is also pretty average.. All in all the standard of coffee house has detoriated immensely in last few years..

It's time to ban Coffee house because their behaviour not so good with coustomer and their food is ordinary with high price.They treat their Coustomer very bad. I am not a hater of Coffee house but I think it's time to change.
Coffee house is Known for their mutton cutlet and mutton sandwich..and mostly teenager or adult used to go there for gossip..they used to order their so called "coffee" and having cigrt..
We,4 friends recently went to coffee house this November after a long time.. because of being a student we didn't have enough pocket money..we just had one cold coffee for each.we had only 200 rupees bill... believe me..25 minutes hardly.. maximum..they told us" neben to na r kichu"!!!and told us to get out first as we .. people are waiting for their seats..but before that we waited for a long while..for a table.. Just disgusting behaviour they did..

I am also amazed that how can they keep their consistency(food quality) over 12 years(approximately) at the same level and still charge more. @Dipto, you should try their chicken pakora then you will know what is the meaning of overpriced for bad food quality. Tip is not a bad thing but they demand tip from students also but the usp of coffee house was that they only charge for food and refuse to take tip but now(over 5 years) they demand tip.

They have one more magic there, order for chilli chicken with bones and when the dish arrives at your table,the bones would have vanished and you get chilli chicken without bones without your consent. I guess this kind of magic might happen with other items they serve too.
