This piece is absolutely beautiful now and that key is fantastic, not ugly. I am 100% stealing your method of using the kettle to steam wood. I have the same one and would not have thought to use it that way. Thank you for sharing this project with us. See you in the next one! 🏅🤙😃
That table has much charm, and is sympathically restored by you. I like your simple tools that you use too, the plastic sheeting/ electric kettle steaming tent etc, and your handmade brackets to re-attach the table top are so much better than hammering in nails too. Congratulations.
The amount of work is staggering. You don't simply polish up the table; you remake it. This table will go on making people happy for many years thanks to you.
Ace! Well done for saving that little table dude, and giving it a second shot at a functional and decorative life 👏👏👏. Thank you very much for sharing. 😎
Very nice restoration, I was surprised that you didn't totally disassemble the table for cleanup, but the end result showed it really wasn't needed after all. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much, dear Paul. I was surprised myself that I didn't completely disassemble the table. But I couldn't find a very valid reason to disassemble :)
Two weeks to straighten!😮 I would be hard pressed (pun intended) to wait that long, too! I am completely amazed how well that turned out! For sure, most people would have thrown it away! ❤❤❤
Another great saving of a poor little piece. I especially loved how you made the key for the lock. Brilliant thinking. And I love the honey like color of the stain. Beautiful job.
I really like your videos, you are a true doctor of wood, your explanations in the subtitles in Portuguese make it much easier to learn better and which subject we can use thanks for sharing your knowledge❤❤
i love your work, i dont have alot of fancy tools but i still like to fix n make old furnature pretty again. the coffe table is one of my favorites because you kept its personality💜
Thank you very much, dear Sibylle. Lucy and my other cats have been at home since I moved into my new workshop. I tried to take her to the workshop a few times but she is not very keen :)
Wonderful attention to detail, but to my eye it's over-restored, all the table's character has been removed. Almost looks like a recent shop bought item. Just my opinion, but definitely will use the kettle trick. Thank you for uploading, very calming to watch - and learn.
Hey RM Hope this finds the 2 of you doing well and a Happy Weekend. What a great little table to save, I really like the rough cut wood and the fact you saved its look. I forgot...how far away is your shop from home? Take care my friend 🙂
Thank you very much dear Tim. Yep, I'm going to be in my fifties soon and I can't stand to see something look brand new. It seems to me that it must show its age and flaws. I think it's very related to my age :) If you noticed, I applied oxalic acid to all the wood as you said and the result was better :) My workshop is very close to home, about 50 steps :)
@@Restomaniac You are very welcome. Welcome to the 50s club (soon😉). Great that your shop is so close to home. There are a couple of great furniture repair channels I watch and learned about the acid treatment: •Thomas Johnson Antique Furniture Restoration •Dashner Design & Restoration Oh and •Restomaniac 🙂
I like it! Repaired to a usable extent, gotten rid of the hundred nails, a simple finish, just the way an old pine table should be handled. Would have used an iron drawer pull to match the lock, and new top hold downs, the brass seems misplaced.
Beautiful table! Although the Table it looks very nice in the End, why sanding the beautiful original patina away ? A tip for making a table top straight and without any effort, I put the wood early in the morning on the lawn and let the sun do the work. the wood will absorb the Morningdew and throughout the Day the heat of the sun will make it flat again.

You did a great job! This table is similar to one from my in-laws. The top was also bowed. The story was the table top is where they slaughtered chickens. 😮
You did such an Awesome Job seeing the before and after was so Amazing. Worth every bit of the $40.00 you gave for it totally worth it. Now you can tripple your money back if not more. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
