Ola Englund ..ola get "vogg from DECAPITATED"! "Machine-Head"..for coffee!! vogg is the best metal riff guitar player today's time!! amazing talent!!😈😈😈🔥🔥
Thx Ola... I requested.this a few weeks ago and never heard from you... but, I guess you did.. This guy is a monstrous guitarist.. Thx. My G series with Evertune Solar is amazing and, Frederik should use it
Absolutely loved this interview. Bringing Fredrik here was something huge. Loved to know that Ola was once a student of Fredrik. So Ola had to be a freaking good player. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you Ola for having Fredrick with you. He is so goddamn underrated. His name should be mentioned in any conversation involving the greatest metal guitarists currently.
I've never watched one of these episodes before but you got my favorite guitar player of all time on here and now I've just got to watch... I love Fredrik!
Paul Gilbert and Uli Roth. I REMEMBER THOSE VIDEOS! AND HOLDSWORTH TOO! I found my new favorite guitarist. Anyone saying Fred isn't fast doesn't actually listen to the music. Lol
I think Ola.......should do his OWN version of Perry Como's song Magic Moments for his Coffee with Ola episodes....Or Pedal Frenzy, or Testing Shit....It's MY hell Entrance song, and I would like to share it with Ola lol I guess the world IF he does it. Keep up the sick work Ola. Say hi to Louise from Canada!
Coffee with Ola has a double meaning for those who speak Greek. It could be translated as Coffee with everything. Great video. I've been an Opeth fan from their first album.
but then it wouldn't be this free anymore, be it for the topic, or the way it is presented. it'll be driven solely what the audience would want. no more freedom for Ola, I guess?
He's really laid back and easy to talk to. I had the honor of chatting with him at a record store signing while the rest of the band rummaged through LPs.
@Dylan Powell I downloaded some EOS and Moontower back in the days of Napster. Liked it, but never dug further. Hypocrisy piqued my interest when they toured with Soilwork in 05. Tagtgren had a great song on Nuclear Blast All Stars and the fact that he's working with Lindemann shows he's a really creative, diverse dude. Gotta bump those guys to the top of my listening list.
@@Doomchild2XL All the funny noises that would have to be added in editing to bleep out the swear words. Probably the only person who swears more than Ozzy. :D
@@Doomchild2XL Did he quit? Good for him, I remember seeing a video of him working out and heavily drinking beer while doing so. That did not look healthy..
This rules so hard. Thanks so much for posting. Agree about Åkesson being hugely underrated. Might be in the minority amongst the metal fans but I love the direction Opeth has taken since Heritage. Been a fan since My Arms Your Hearse but I love that they're doing what they love. ⚡
32:50: This reaction is exactly why Fredrik is IMO one of the most interesting players of this generation. The guy has his Yngwie and Blackmore repertoire but mixes it up with really cool sounding fusion-y passages that don't disrupt the overall melodic direction of his solos.
Fredrik is so good at widdly-woo playing. What a badass. One of my favorite things about modern Opeth is that when Fredrik and Mikael trade solos - their styles really come out and you can always tell who is playing which one. They are a great pair.
I actually get very confused as to who plays which solo at the end of Burden. I know Mikael is good, but there are some passages that I'm sure are Fred's but then the next solo is equally as complex and I wonder if that one was actually Fred.
Well, congratulations, you two Swedes speak better English than the majority of the UK. Actually, this is probably true of every Swede-from-a-metal-band I've heard in an interview.
@@Meshuggapeth thank you for posting Secrets of the Unkown by Fredrik Thordendal! I ve been trying to transcribe it cause i just cant find tabs anywhere on the internet. I love Fredrik thordendal's stuff and it would be great to see him on coffee with ola.
I’ve all the time in the world for Frederick. Not only is he a genuinely cool guy, but he’s an excellent and hugely underrated guitarist, which for me is really frustrating. Fred deserves much more credit than he gets. You rule Frederick!! Thanks for this Ola!🤘🏻😎💯
It is to his credit that Opeth is an amazing band. Obviously singer being the architect, but that by no means takes away from the contributing musicians. I am grateful that a younger friend of mine pointed me in this direction to check them out, I was reluctant to want to listen to new things, and boy was I a proven fool. I am happy they are not strictly METAL in the stereotypical sense, you know by the numbers, chug, chug, chug. I like every period of their career that I have heard so far.
