Thank you very much! Beliefs/ reality/ facts. So much to appreciate from this tutorial. Emotional Reasoning - feelings are not facts; identify feelings and separate facts so that we can be happy, helpful and safe. Cognitive bias can be challenged by relearning new ways, using positive feedback and encouraging people to look at objective facts. Thank you, ' life can be in the middle grey area ' neither good nor bad.

It’s a lot easier to help clients change the way they feel about situations than their thoughts or cognitive distortions
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes Год назад
Thank you for watching. When a person has difficulty changing their thoughts, it’s important to ask ourselves why that happens. Is it because there are other thoughts involved? Is it because they are scared? Is it because they don’t believe the new thoughts?
@Drvinnieboombatts
@Drvinnieboombatts Год назад
@@DocSnipes a hypnotherapist told me that, and also said that’s why CBT is difficult and doesn’t really work for many disorders; because it’s apart of our nature to have negative distortions as with positive ones too.

This is a great summary of CBT. As someone who’s previously trained in CBT the through USC MSW program, I can say this is a ton of info packed into a short amount of time for the entirety and complexity of cognitive distortions and core beliefs. It only scratches the surface but is a good review. I’m motivated to delve into the techniques of challenging core beliefs, the bread and butter of CBT. Are we able to log CEU from this?

I watch ur videos of lot I really get a lot out of them, I'm RN and a certified wellness coach, I thought about something with this video with CBT, when someone has PTSD it's different, device has altered their way of thinking their world has changed and CPT just straight-up Ikea video when apply to someone with PTSD maybe you couldn't have mentioned that, although clients have depression , & other emotions , that are underlying, that don't come & go, but I agree surface ones come & go

Having a certain belief about the world and the people in it because of unfair treatment is real🤷🏽‍♀️
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 25 дней назад
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s completely understandable that unfair treatment can shape our beliefs about the world and others. When we’re hurt or treated unjustly, it’s natural to develop certain perceptions as a way to protect ourselves or make sense of the experience. However, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) teaches us to examine these beliefs and determine whether they are helping or holding us back. It’s about finding a balance between acknowledging the pain and challenging the unhelpful beliefs that might prevent us from seeing things more clearly or moving forward.

Took myself from blind rage to being able to love myself took so many years of the hardest therapy by myself chemically balancing my brain. Making myself happy once a day, rewarding my inner child,going out of the way to pay attention to myself with positive reinforcment. Thirty years I am a sociopathic psychopathic serial killing blood lusting narcissistic goof that is able to be unmedicated a part of society almost at full functionality. I am a miracle. A travelling therapist I live in Maple ridge b.c. my claim is undocumented amazing multi million dollar life my dad said to write it I'd be rich lol Believe me when I say we don't have to be dead just hooked up to five different machines at once and boom that's all I know. Just full of ideas. I hope to show you an amazing unbelievable story. And give a method to make u a pioneer the first to break through to the other side alive I do all the time it's real and I can take u there not on a drop of a dime and it will take time. Doc Snipes, do you include cannabis under street drugs (in an intoxication sense) ?
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 2 года назад
Yes. Medical cannabis has much lower THC, and CBD has no THC
@georgevouros
@georgevouros 2 года назад
@@DocSnipes thank you for answering. However let me point out that THC and CBD are different cannabinoids. So one can not say CBD has no THC. It is a logically wrong statement. There are different strains of cannabis with varying ratios of CBD to THC, and each patient using would have to find what works for her. Dosage is important. As well as set and setting. The illegal status in many parts of the world, by itself is a source of anxiety, which triggers the fight or flight motion, it feels threatening to the user even before usage. That's the setting. Does this make sense?

Since it is done as a CEU presentation it has to be an hour. That is why nearly all the videos on this channel are an hour
@FrancesShear
@FrancesShear 4 года назад
Sorry if I seem haughty when saying that your presentation sounds way too oversimplified for about 99% of others today when it comes to their human identity core beliefs since the vast majority of people manage somehow to live on their own well into their old age until maybe about 2 years before death and sometimes none spent in a nursing home when for example falling off of their bicycle at age 101. Unless of course you are taking about someone avout 40 years ago who was racist while for example being in an emergency examining room alone with a patient from the race they feared so much they were prone to all or nothing thinking when making a tentative diagnosis of the patient in their care. Sendiing the patient home from the emergency ward with sleeping pills today while hoping that no one will notice the illogical way of doing diagnostics instead while in fear as a way of coping with things at work is not going to fly any more today because for example no doctor anymore instead would be able to get away with picking his nose in front of patients that he fears as a way of coping with his fears enough to avoid a panic attack during his rounds at the hospital because doctors are no longer today almost all male who come to expect unconditional defference to them. Believe it or not it wasn't until much later in a university english class after meeting more than one doctor like that in clinical settings with faulty core beliefs that a professor explained that sort of behavior I encountered to me. She said back then 30 years ago that a lot of men find women of child bearing age from backgrounds different from their own as being scary. Or was it because after the second world war a lot of veterans were given free education to become professonals after many of them were abused behind enemy lines by ethnic German female nurses as prisoners of war? I don't know. Maybe because woman's place was more in the home back then and so faulty core beliefs adult males hold about women are being challenged more often enough?
