This is our 15th bedroom cover made with the support of Patreon. I’ve liked a handful of Rush covers. I like the Ninja Sex Party version of Madrigal better than the original and the Allegaeon cover of Animate is pretty great, as examples, but in general I agree, they should be avoided. This was awesome though.

…. Dude, there are Very Few covers of great songs that I actually love, and absolutely nail it on the head.. This right here is probably the best cover I have seen done ever by a conglomerate of highly talented, and well respected musicians.. This simply could not be any better, period… I’m still watching and listening to this years later, and still just as impressed… Just simply Outstanding!!! 😬👍

Lol, odd as Rush tunes are notorious for their multiple time signatures and insanely complex chord progressions (not to mention the most melodic and challenging basslines in music history and of course Peart's omnipotent rhythmic beauty.) Not easy to play, even in 4/4 time.

He talked about it on IG he wasn’t a rush fan growing up he only started listening to them when Coheed was being compared to Rush. Check out the video he posted he goes more in depth with it. Basically Claudio isn’t a big Rush fan though he likes some songs. He mainly did this because his friend/idols were involved.

Been a Coheed fan since Second Stage and this pleases me so much to see Claudio get more recognition from fans of these other talented musicians who normally wouldn't have given him the time of day. Do yourself a favor and at least check out In Keeping Secrets... and Good Apollo. Good Apollo is still their best work to me and nothing would please me more than to know more people might enjoy some of Coheed's music. Definitely their most progressive album today. This cover was amazing, btw.

@@austinhb99 When Geddy started playing through the PA instead of a stack of amps located behind him on the stage, he needed to put something on the stage to balance out Alex's stack of amps on the other side of the stage. For a while, he had 3 laundromat washing machines behind him. On another tour, he had rotisserie chickens cooking that would be eaten by the crew later that night. Someone would come out during the performance to baste them once in a while, lol

Even if he doesn't go nuts for Rush there's lots of Coheed fans who dig them because of their indirect Rush influence. I've never heard a band sound more like Rush than the verse of You've Got Spirit Kid.

Young Geddy is a difficult vocalist to immitate. By the time Geddy was Claudios age he had trouble signing like this.

That's probably because Geddy is a natural tenor, who basically was singing above his range in his younger days, trying to emulate vocalists like Robert Plant and Jon Anderson. You can do that to a point when you're young, but eventually you're just putting too much strain on your vocal chords and you risk blowing out your voice if you don't learn to sing in your natural range, which Geddy obviously did. (I was a wannabe soprano in my high school and college years who eventually had to quit deluding myself and accept I was a mezzo-soprano, so I've been there....) Claudio, on the other hand, sounds like he's a natural counter-tenor, a guy whose singing voice falls naturally in the contralto (or alto) range. It's pretty rare, actually. He'd probably make a good living in the classical/opera world if he put in the work and training, but he went into prog rock instead. (And as a C&C fan, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.) /end singing geek rant I can't think of any other male vocalist who could pull off a Rush cover like this. Bravo.

@@karlaallingham5103 actually Claudio is a much more lower placed tenor than you’d think. Just listen to an interview where he talks normally. Claudio also went through a period in the late 2000’s and early 10’s where his voice stopped being as limber in it’s high range and despite quitting smoking/losing weight and possibly getting voice lessons he’s never been able to get back to the voice he had in his early 20’s, but such is life, you can normally hear him struggling to sing lines in the upper fourth octave like he used to with ease and he gets a little shouty and uses distortion to cover up his limitations. He does amazing on this song though, he’s still got it at times for sure. Claudio has a very impressive low range too which showcases his lower placed tenor voice. Listen to a song like “Pearl of The Stars” if you wanna hear it.

No live music, ever. Places of worship shut down whilst you can still go to Walmart, small businesses never being able to return so that everything is funnelled through Amazon.
