Yeah- really hot on the Coiltek- thx to your suggestion. Ran it for a year. Referred back to the Minelab stock coil for a short spell. The Tek kills it hands down for low weight, target response & pinpointing.
I love your videos....I ordered my Coiltek 10x5 April 28th and they are still only filling orders from mid-March! Patience....hope to use it before there is snow on the ground~!!!
Thanks hopefully things will pick up and they will start coming in faster. You are going to love it. Hopefully they will get the coil cover figured out by then but just in case remember the zip ties. All the best to you!
Hey guys thanks for watching. I'm really liking this coil. I plan on using it more but if you have any thoughts on it leave a comment. Besides the coil cover issue its something to have in your tool box but of course that is my opinion. What's yours? Thanks for your support. All the best to you. -Scott (MentalMetalDetecting.com).
Didn’t have any problems still holding good on mine Coiltek 10X5 that I got 2 months ago and I do use it often in river water. Two thumbs up on your video.
@@MentalMetal I'm in my last two years of the Air Force over at Martin State. Glad to see you are doing well. One morning on my way to work, I was listening to WBAL Radio, the C4 and Bryan Nehman Show and Bryan mentioned you on air (not by name) but he gave two clues and I knew exactly who he was talking about. He was talking about metal detection and mentioned he knew someone who was a professional metal detector. Small world.
@@teddychalgren Huh never knew anything about it. Hats off to you staying in this long. I was torn when I left. I never wanted to but did 4 years of active reserves after 9 active duty. Still miss it but have fulfilled the calling in other ways. Happy to see you doing well my friend we need to catch up sometime.
Hey thanks I'm glad. I am getting about 8-9 inches but some targets hit deeper. I made a chart based on air testing which isn't the greatest but it gets you in the ball park. mentalmetaldetecting.com/coiltek-10x5-review/
It does appear to be a good coil but I don't see where it would have an advantage over the minelab 6 inch coil which is excellent and I already have. I'm going to hold off for now I think.
Totally up to you on that but I can tell you from my experience using the 6" you have to work that coil slow and it just feels weird to swing. Don't get me wrong it works well and you can get into some really tight spots. For me I wanted something with a little more coverage and I'm in the water a lot. I really enjoyed the 5x8 coil on my old Garrett AT Pro. The Coiltek 10x5 is exactly what I was looking for and it gets great depth. Totally your call though.
@@MentalMetal I totally agree. Had the 6" and am selling it. Loved the 5x8 coil on the AT pro. it stayed on that machine. So far love my 10 x 5 for all the same reasons.
I have seen some videos that say the sweet spots on this coil are in the front and back. They say there is a dead spot in the center. Have you found this to be true with this coil?
I haven't paid too much attention or heard that. It might be true but it hasn't diminished its ability to find good targets. That is my favorite coil for sniffing out coins in trashy areas.
I bought the Detect-ED Carbon Fiber Shaft. Here are the Amazon links for both the Red and Black. I would have chosen the black but the red was the only one available at the time but I'm glad because I like the red better: RED: amzn.to/3CZXvUJ BLACK: amzn.to/3ldxGKZ
Since you failed me by not getting a coil for me (that I would have paid double for, why don't you send me on of those XL shirts you can't fit into anymore...hahaha (I can't talk, trust me)
Damn the Covid 15 got you too haha. I'm working on that as you talk smack bubba. Call Keith and get on the list. They trickle in but only a few at a time. Supply chain is all jacked.
