5-10 ounces a month is still a solid amount. Especially if you are closer to the 10. That's gonna land you 100 ounces per year anyway.

Last month I was at my LCS in Orange county NY, and asked the owner what he's seeing as far as precious metals. He told me he's seeing many business people selling, because they need money!

My LCS has had so much silver offered up for sale he quit buying. Then he had a customer service idea. He has taken it as an opportunity to repay his loyal customers. He bought more silver ( I do not know how much) to sell to us at spot. I bought two 10 oz. bars, one Germania and one Nadir for $31.00 per oz. and appreciate his efforts.

A lot of folks are forced to sell to pay the bills. Many longs are giving up. The day is closer than ever to a parabolic moonshot to $100+. Won’t anybody be buying at those prices most likely. Buy, hold and only sell in emergencies.

Want to know how the economy is doing? 1) Talk to a car dealer. New cars are not selling well. It is hard for dealers to entice used car trade-ins on new cars. This means there is not much money available even for important purchases. 2) Talk to a realtor. Homes are not selling well. People are not buying new homes with interest rates on loans being so high. Again, people are hanging onto an older home rather than trading up.

People have money.... it's just that the cost of surviving each day has gotten much more expensive... so the "extras" like investing in PMs is getting harder to do.... you have to put food on the table, keep a roof over your head, and keep the lights on first... all of which have gotten very expensive.

Call around and ask how much over spot can they offer you, to buy from you.. And find someone that will at least give you spot.. Though if your in a small town and there's only one spot in town... It's easier in a big city.

@@sunbeagle9769 usually they buy rounds about 60-80 cents below spot, but then their "spot" will be like 25-40 cents lower than it actually is at the moment. So... about $1 under spot on avg.

Not buying with the price hikes / volatility right now. The premiums are still 5%+ over spot despite the increase, especially silver eagles being an incredulous amount over spot still. Has to do with people being broke, sure a bit, but its mostly the metals increasing too high too fast.

I don’t buy from local shops. I buy online and are happy thus far with their service. Shops tend to overcharge and I’m not interested in haggling.

This. There are so many crappy shops that act like they have something special when I can just go online and get it for less. They should be matching or undercutting to generate trust and retain loyalty. They can make plenty of money when buying because all of the online sites have shipping costs and pay garbage rates.

For me it’s the hassle of driving there, trying to get waited on, to save maybe $5. Online they ship to me, I can purchase with ease, and nobody cares if you do it in your PJ’s. 😂.

Not so fast with your comment, all silver isn’t always created equal. The best time to learn about whether you made a good deal is try selling it in different scenarios. Anyway learn about coin grading and how it affects price, even your generic silver can be scrutinized.

Yeah, $19-20X face for 90%, (excluding Morgan Dollars) is what I've been seeing at my LCS. But, talking with the owners, they're still not moving too much at that price.

Wow! Yeah, screw them! My LCS had a $4.50 premium on generic buffaloes when spot was $21 last year & would buy them back at 50-cents back of spot when silver went to $23. I was just a bit incensed at their generosity. I was merely testing them and they failed.

I go to Costco a lot but I would never buy Silver or Gold at Costco, rather support my Local Coin Shops. I don’t pay Sale’s Tax at my Coin Dealer just straight paper money for real money precious metals but awesome low premiums!!!

Franklin Coin Shop in Franklin Indiana has been consistently selling Silver Eagles @ $3.50 over, generic silver at .50 cents over spot. Always the best prices I can find for a shop!

The situation is the opposite for one of the dealers I worth with. Like any other market, silver demand fluctuates. Summer is often a slower time for silver.

I don't think we just forget about silver in the summer. The prices are always far higher in summer than fall. Last 2 years I didn't buy any silver after January and saved cash until prices fell in the fall. Bought way too much last fall cause I knew prices would go up. Sold a chunk for $30 and now sitting on profit and will just save up till fall again.

My LCS had another blowout sale today: he was selling BU ASEs by the tube for $3.50 over spot. Tubes of impaired / off-quality ASEs were $2.50 over. I was very busy today so I did not get a chance to swing by and take advantage of the sale but these had to some of the lowest if not the lowest priced ASE across the whole country.

Hi Seeker. In response to your question on buying fireworks this year, I had booked the 4th of July as a day off work because we host a fireworks party every year, but this year Mother Nature forced us to cancel the party. People who were going to stop over were feeling sick and the forecast was calling for rain, so we did not buy fireworks this year. I used the money I would've spent on fireworks to buy some silver "ice cream cones" to cheer myself up. Another waste of money, but at least I get to hold onto what I spent that money on and not literally blow it up. 👍

This is why the whole world is a mess because we forgot about our creator and stopped thanking Him and praying to Him. I stopped in my LCS (Southern Idaho) and was told that they were buying a lot of silver. But, rather than sit on it and hope the price didn't go down, they were selling it to wholesalers to keep the cash flow moving.

Dealers are most likely over charging premiums to the local demand. It's probably geographical / economically driven. 20% premiums on common ASEs seems way too high unless you are a collector buying a one off for a set. Makes no sense to buy a tube for $120 over spot. Can just buy more silver rounds at a lower premium.

My dealer was acting like he had no inventory of silver today- very limited stock- I asked him for my favorite bars/ he said he didn’t have any- He is 2 bucks over spot right now. Eagles are more. I think some big whale came in and cleaned him out-

That's the real issue. It's the opposite of what those perma Silver bulls are promoting all the time. Ok, they are selling because they are broke. Uhm, if they are willing to sell at current prices then imagine how much more Silver will be thrown inn if the price rises further.

Why is a silver eagle worth more being "Shiny" There must be a million out there. Nothing special.... OK Sarcasm, but ya there's a million out there, nothing special. Sure is a lot of PUMP as silver being an investment, silver is silver. People even get on here and talk stacking "Special Shiny" "as if" there is something special about it. What I have notice that while the silver spot price was in a range they would pay silver spot plus the premium of about $8. Now that the price of spot silver has risen to about $6+ and the buyers are taking the rise of spot price out of the premiums.

Hey SS. I know your focus is primarily silver but…idea for a future video: consider calling coin shops to ask what they are paying for fractional gold (1/10, 1/4 or 1/2 oz. AGEs) and also pre-33 raw/ungraded quarter and half gold eagles. It’s hard to get a feel for what local shops pay for that gold (how close to melt). This is the gold that is most affordable to people now, not full 1 oz. gold coins. Thanks!

I hate hearing Minot's premiums they are always so much lower than right next door here in Montana. I was quoted 26USD per Dollar face for 90% just Tuesday, got out the door at 24 however because I'm a regular.

Bought a little silver in March - mostly for future gifts. Land of the Midnight Sun here, so 4th of July fireworks are not really a thing. However, New Year’s Eve is usually a big display across the valley and I happily firework watch. New Year’s Eve 2023 was one of the quietest I have witnessed. People are feeling the pinch.

Local shop is buried in silver right now. I had some (very few) Silver Eagles and a 5oz ingot. Told them I didn’t like the loss to go to rounds and, since the premium was down to $1.50 I might consider it. He offered 5 x 1 oz rounds for the 5 oz. Ingot. I now have no ingot and 5 rounds. Sorry, this is in Tucson, AZ.

The market and most shops are flooded with silver if your going to buy just don’t over pay one shop today $3.50 over spot for eagles clean blast white shops have to pay back so buy the cheapest rounds to spot if you can

… I think no one is buying from their local coin shop. Why would you pay the ridiculous premiums at an LCS when you can buy whatever you want online for the fraction of the premium? I’m not anti LCS by any means, but the bottom line is most people don’t want to pay more than they have to for bullion.
