Different types of shapes and numbers are printed on coins. These mints are located in major cities of India, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Noida. Mint is said to be the place where coins are manufactured according to the order of the Government of India and keeping in view the market demand. What is mint called in English, you tell us by commenting. First let's talk about the Noida mint, friends, this mint was established in the year 1986. Coin production started in this mint on 1 July 1988. This is the only such mint that has been built in independent India, the rest of the three mints were made during the time of the British. About 40 percent of the total coins made in the country are manufactured in this mint. Foreign coins have also been made in this mint in the year 2006. Coins made in this mint have a dot mark on the bottom of the year they were made. First of all, here the mark of dot was made on 50 paise coins. Now whenever you see the mark of a dot on a coin, then understand that the coin has been made in the Noida Mint.
So now let's talk about Kolkata Mint, friends, this mint was established by the British in 1757. The second Calcutta Mint was established in 1790 with modern machinery brought from England. Coins made in this mint do not have any marks. This mint is the oldest mint in India. It was designed by the grand architect Mulk Raj Malhotra.
The third mint is Hyderabad Mint Friends, this mint was established by the Nizam of Hyderabad in the year 1803. Earlier this mint was established under the authority of the Nawab of Hyderabadi Nizam but later in the year 1950 it was taken over by the Government of India. Coins made in this mint have a star sign. Some of the coins before this mint had a diamond mark with a dot. But in today's coins only the star's mark is made.
Now let's talk about the Mumbai Mint, friends, this mint was established in 1829 by the then Governor of Bombay Presidency. Initially, the coins made in this mint used to have a mark of B because at that time the name of Mumbai was Bombay. When Bombay was renamed as Mumbai, the coins made in this mint used to have the mark of M. But now the coins made in this mint have a diamond mark on it.
