Let us not forget the very talented and very underrated vocals of Linda Tillery throughout this entire LP. In my opinion Linda Tillery's vocals put this on the charts!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG... I PLAYED IT ON THE BUS EVERY NIGHT COMING FROM WORK IN VA HEADING BACK TO DC AT 10:30PM..EVERYONE LOVES IT EVEN THE BUS DRIVER GOT HIS GROOVE ON...
I agree with Barron Bailey. Truly the voice of this young lady at the time made magic with the music of Coke Escovedo. If any of the fans like or love this music, check out Pete Escovedo featuring Sy Smith. Make it sweet. I`m lovin` it big time. The music and her voice sets it off.
I searched the globe for this song. Now I can die happy. I was 19 when I first.heard this jam it never gets old. I used to love Coke Escoveto; still do.
1975.feel good .latin soul music that titilated the spirit..Coke Escovedo was on a roll with this west coast gem. I remember my beloved sister who was stationed in San Diego returned to the east coast with this album as part of her collection along with Roy Ayers" Mystic Voyage"Donald byrd " Blackbyrd", Stevie Wonder Introduces "Syreeta"..great year for music
Just wrote a a note about how great it was to be a child in Oakland during the 60's. This was one of the jams. In the late 70's Coke resided in the same cheap apartment building as my sister. In the 80's one of the most impressive local concerts featured Lady Bianca, Rosie Gaines and Linda Tillery (providing vocals here). These these helps me remember how good life is!

When I was in the military a girl started singing this, her and I were the only people that knew this song. To Naomi Bean where ever you are; make it sweet.
This was like one of the last songs played as we left a club called JACK AND TIMS in AC. I remember leaving the club after partying ALL NIGHT....6 am and the day light. That was the coolest thing EVER !! Good fun back in the day!!! What a SONG!!!
This was my brother Rodney's favorite song. He passed last month, We played it at his Memorial January 7, 2017. Thank you for making it available. Could not find it anywhere else.
OMG! I was trying to locate the name of this song for a while after just hearing it on the radio. I thought Side Effect who sang Always There around the same time sang this.
Hi Denise and everybody - Coke Escovedo was Sheila E's uncle. A great timbalero. Her father is Pete Escovedo also a great timbalero and congero. Both Coke and Pete had their moments in the Santana Band. They later formed a large ensemble called Azteca which was their pride and joy. I provided lead vocals on most tracks on the "Coke" album except for the duet with my brother Calvin Tillery on "If I Ever Lose This Heaven."
Hey Linda Tillery I really appreciate your input and correcting the fact that Coke was Sheila E's uncle instead of dad however you and your brother Calvin Tillery both "put it down" on that album...no doubt!!!! You deserve every bit of accolades for the vocals!!! It was a real pleasure knowing that you actually read my post and corrected me with taste.....
Hi Denise - people often get the Escovedo lineage confused. There are Four siblings - Sheila, Peter Michael, Juan and Zena. I met their father Pete and uncle Coke around 1973. They were playing a club in San Francisco. I was barely 21 years old and very green. Had never really experienced Latin music live. Changed my life permanently. Now you knows more than most people and thank you for contacting me. Best regards, Linda Tillery Sent from my MetroPCS 4G LTE Android device ----- Reply message -----
Linda Tillery Always in my box, Linda. Blown away when I heard it for the first time. Prefer the 45 over the lp btw. Love your soulful, passionate voice. I usually play out for youngsters, and they really feel this song too. Many thanks, much love!
Linda Tillery. I still have this album on vinyl and it's still one of my very favorites out of an extensive music collection. (BTW I'm a musician.) Your vocal performances on Make It Sweet and Love Letters are classic. The album got radio airplay in NYC and a lot of people were hoping that you guys would come East on tour . . . . I'd love to hear what you're doing these days!
