I randomly clicked on 'Faasle' and I am hooked. I had never heard of him before. His voice is out of this world! Perfect control, beautiful timbre, hauntingly melancholic and filled with ache. Wow.
Coke studio will always be remembered as one of the best things that happened in the field of music. I am Indian and I respect Pakistan and admire its people for their talent. Music is like jewellery. Every piece is different and beautiful.
Thanks Zoa... Your comment is more a compliment for Coke Studio team and a hope to believe in abilities, to reach higher and higher. And you have A.R Rehman, what a Gem of a person and a music university in his own...
Imran Nisar Arslan Arshad We are blessed with different things. The fight will never end but even talent will keep increasing. Some things are beyond Politics and I look at those. I am going to watch Raees just for Mahira. I'm bashed when I say this here but what's true is true. I still watch bin roye and wonder how anyone can even write such a story. Kudos to the team.
In 30 years of being around I have completely failed to understand as to why we are two different nations. But on a different note Coke Studio Pakistan has given me so much joy and continues to do so because of such supremely talented people and the quality of music has only got better with every season!! You guys are a world ahead of the rest!! Brilliant!!
I sincerely pray that the friction between two beautiful nation will vanish. India and Pakistan, how beautiful and diversified you are. Unite in love and you will be more beautiful than ever.
Jaffer's voice is like honey; thick and sweet and so soothing! One of the most romantic Pakistani male voices in my opinion. I could bliss out listening to him all day. I do prefer when he sings in Urdu over Punjabi though. And even though I loved his voice here I was hoping the song would pick up a little at some point. Hoping there's more to listen to from Kaavish this season. I'm not prepared for Jaffer to sink into oblivion again so soon! I need more!!
+Zaynab Hasan Yeah... you said it "I was hoping the song would pick up a little at some point". But nothing to complain. Coke Studio Season 8 is beyond this world!
No one could have delivered the verses of Shah Hussain's kaafi in a way better than he did. Plus brilliant control of vocals and accent of the Punjabi language. Hats off Coke Studio and Kaavish.
He barely moves a muscle, yet, each time (in the countless times I've listened to this gem) I'm moved - I'm sure everyone is. One of the best of all time.
The reaction from Omran Shafique and the other Guitar player at 6:25 is just priceless, They are feeling the bliss and appreciating Jaffer's singing...
ek like se kyaa hogaa... lakh do lakh le lo yaaar. kya awaaz hai bande ki...kaavish as a band is awesome as well. :) kitni khushi dete hain aap sab.. koi allah ya bhagwaan hai toh aapko salaamat rakhe.
Jaffer's voice, his music-directing talent and finesse, his dexterity in playing the piano, fills me with a weird wistfulness... I shall never be able to meet this guy face to face and tell him how deeply I admire and love him :-( :-(
Nindiya Re was my one of favs songs.. later I got introduced to Coke Studio Pakistan.. so many beautiful songs and talented artists.. not just singers but I am awestruck by looking at everyone's contribution in making a perfect melody.. I have watched video songs so many times just because everyone's coordination is so much satisfying to watch.. Love from India.. keep it up Strings.. you are doing a good work there.. and please come Mumbai once.. big fan of your songs too.
People are there who work solely for art... The depth can be felt echoing worldwide... The divinity performing magic. This magic is called music. Something beyond borders, called humanity.
This is Kalam written by Faqeer Hussain... Describing how he feels like when you fall in love the the creater who holds the world and rulling it.... Sometimes you feel like he is unaware of you but actually he pretends...
Now, we're not talking just about a heavenly and great voice... it's beyond that, we're talking about An Artist! My deepest and most respectuous bow to him, to Kaavish, aka the "piano guy" ,lol! I saw him in the making of sammi mere waar and even though it was for a few seconds, I changed my mind about him, he didn't look like someone just executing a task, he was also contributing, he looked like a master who's trying to approach a new piece of art. I hope I'll see more videos of you singing!
His Name of Jaffer Hussain. He is the son of Legendary Singer Nayyara Noor and His Father is a great actor. Jaffer got an advanced degree in Music from Abroad as well.
Muhammad Zubair Javed , Thanks for all these info... his attitude shows that: educated into a family of artists AND he studied music in an academic way. I hope he'll get more recognition worldwide, he's a hidden gem of Pakistan... and he's no less important than the pakistani stars, in fact, he could overshadow them easily because a groomed talent lasts longer.
Mohd Ali Ameer, lol , I'm not that familiar with pakistani scene but his presence is very noticeable but I didn't know who he is, he was the "piano guy" for me, hahaha!
Jaffer Zaidi, you beauty, the reflection of his mother's voice, the pain with which she sung Faiz Ahmed Faiz's ghazals, the same resonance is in her son's voice!💓
The most underrated singer in Pakistani Music Industry ...... I have been listening to kavish band songs since long time .... their is some thing special in Jaffar's voice which touches the soul ... we need more of his songs ....
This is an absolute masterpiece. Why is this not getting millions of views! Why did i miss this? almost a decade ago. Jaffer your voice is just beyond this world!
I am actually hurt to see that people have actually missed an opportunity to witness this magical song. Well, this song is much more above this view counts thing. Kudos to the whole team, let there be more music like this. Cheers everyone ❤️
Coke Studio Pakistan is incredibly underrated. How id love to be in their studio watching and listening to their masterpieces.....love from South Africa
This is kafi by baba shah hussain a renouned punjabi saint. Eternal love is the message of kaafi. That is the beauty of my great Punjaab; the land of 5 rivers, it produced the unchallegeable class of poetry and sufism.
+dakhan i didnt mean any offence . i m pakistani first offcourse. just to emphasize my live for punjab. i like indian punjab too. bcz we share culture.
+Dr Vicky the cultures of balochistan, sindh, mohajirs and pashtuns is not any less than that of punjab. surely punjab has produced some amazing poets and sufis. and though i am not punjabi its a matter of pride for me too. but as a pakistani.
I am indebted to these wonderful artists, perhaps it would be hard to imagine, how good companion music is for an introverted person like me, and how much serenity and companionship, I find in these beautifully composed, written, sung masterpieces. I can't thank you people enough.....
It's been 8 years to this song it still feels like I'm listening it for the first time, Jaffer Bhai your voice is therapy, Thank you for the soulful music 🙏❤️

Pakistan damń You (pardon me). You have put us in eternal tension by making this beautiful mesmerizing melody. I am speechless and will remain so. Thanks to the person who translated. the song.
Pora Coke studio aik taraf aur yeh song aik taraf....Hats off Jaffer bhai... i dnt know but i feel ur soul has some really deep scars... stay Blessed brother
It takes everything to sing such melody. Kaavish delivered it so naturally. I cant get this out of my head. every time i listen to it i feel alot better ❤
With that voice how can he be so lowly praised. His music soothes soul, it has the purest of essence. Seriously people have lost taste in music. I may be cynical, but todays music is hyped by sexy girl and fancy cars in the videos with some rubbish singing and of course swagging. These singers have so much to offer yet they are deserted. Pak coke studio rocks..and Kaavish is always phenomenal
Like Aatif Aslam has an electric guitar voice, Jaffer's voice has a deep feel and effect. Pakistan has such a talent which has been brought up by Coke Studio .... Keep up the good work
The translation of "Be-parwaah" here as "un-caring" is a bit mis-leading.... I think Shah Hussain is using this word synonymous as "Be-Niaz"referring to the God whose existence is "independent" of other creation....... Also in the stanza "across the river is my Ranjha.......... i made a pledge and must go to him......... i beg the boatman to take me there", hes using the following metaphors .......River: metaphor for materalistic life, Ranjha metaphor for God, boatman metaphor for Angel of death...........
I mean its so deep, i can go for ever..... for instance, this stanza "keeta qaul, zaroori jana........ I made a pledge, so must go to Him" is actually referring to the pledge as mentioned in Quran (7:172)....... with that pledge in mind, shah hussain is requesting angel of death to make this transition from this world to hereafter as smooth as possible, so that the boat doesn't sink while crossing the river........ metaphorically speaking.... "mintaan karay mallaah day naal........ I beg the boatman to take me there "
He's an amazing person as well! always genuinely compliments on his covers, send me best wishes and soon he's going to drop another album :) love from India been listening to this song for more than 2-3years!
