Man Kunto Maula is a beautiful kalaam written by Hazrat Ameer Khusro and one would find umpteen renditions of this online! But this Rock-Qawwali version perhaps is one of its kind! Kudos to Jaffer Zaidi's imagination here for visualizing and writing this fusion arrangement. While Javed Bashir delivered an expected masterclass performance, Ali Azmat's rock prologue helped exaggerate Javed's performance! The point where Ali stops and Javed starts with 'Man Kunto Maula' gives you that 'aha' feeling. The instrumentation too is designed to go with this with a build up of rock music during Ali's part which transitions to dholak and harmonium to go with Javed's qawwali.

Man Kunto Maula is not a kalam of Hazrat Ameer Khusro .It is saying of Prophet Muhammad (s.a) which muslims calls "hadees" Man Kunto Maula fahaza Ali un Mola means "Who ever consider me as master Ali is also his master " word mola is a very powerfull word

Javed Bashir, undoubtedly a classical music supremo. The way he took those variations, I was breathless just listening to it, imagine how difficult it would be to sing it. But he does it so effortlessly showing the years of riyaaz and prayers that has made him such a genius. Faheem Abbas You are going down a dangerous road with this thought. If what you were saying was right Muhammad (saw) would have supported this in Hadith and there's no mention of it. The title of Maula goes to Ali because he sacrificed everything (including his life & the life of his Children) for Allah's religion. So he's a Shaykh Ul Islam (Maula) If you want to study Sufism, please find a true Shaykh, because a lot of people wear the robe of Shaykh without knowing anything about Shariat, Tariqa, Haqiqa & Marifa, then they go delusional.

This should be edited, "Ali is the saint of Sufism". Rumi, Imam Gazzali are Sufi Saint. Ali is our Mawla, he is Sher-E-Khoda, he is one of Paak Panjaton. Muhammad(SA) is mawla of every prophet and Ali is also the mawla of every prophet.
