@@erk5475 Oh yea, don't get me wrong, IMO Polyphia is it's own thing. I was always more of a Chon fan myself, bands like Chon and This Town Needs Guns are who got me into modern Prog/Math Rock so I owe my allegiance to them in particular.
I just bought the Chon S/T tab book today and what gave me hope was a little "easter egg" which is an excerpt of a chat between two of the homeys. Its says: "what's the meaning of life? I don't know but I want to have fun while I'm here. The music we made here is the most fun i was able to have playing the music at the time, transfering that uncut "fun" to the listener is an added bonus especially when I am the listener. It's like a double bonus at the end there Fukin tru Let's keep it going There's more music to be made Wanna meet up and jam? Yeee"
this album came out during a time in my life where i was growing as a person. new lessons learned, new foods appreciated, new bands (like Chon) in my life, etc… they were so influential and progressive with their music, that it moved me in directions i didn’t know i’d reach. thank you chon, till next time 🙏🏽🔥
I've always wanted to re watch some live videos of chon, the limited edition live Dvd at the troubadour that i've never been able to buy, the full video of the live transmission of grow in 2020, and the full show at audiotree festival in 2017.
