Jon B knew he was fine with his little caesar. Coko was just blowin' like always. She is so gifted. HavPlenty was a solid soundtrack. My favorites were the Chico DeBarge and Faye songs. And of course this one.
Boy!!!! Cocoa was FINE!!! SHEESH! Jon B always had some laid back vibe music!!! That was his lane and he controlled it!! His labels always held him back
@ troyramseyyy, yeah I have a lot on VHS. A lot of them I already see on RU-vid but I have a few th@ I haven't seen posted. I'm gonna stop being lazy and post 'em. Lol!
And dont get me started on that non acting low budget ass movie that you cant even find in the clearance bin at Walmart....the soundtrack was better than the damn movie...Ijs
Lmaooooo!!!! I totally agree!!!! I was just telling someone I saw the movie but really can't remember anything about it. That says a lot! I remember the soundtrack tho'! Lol!
Damn I hate to be the one to be a critic especially as much as I think this song was hot.....and enjoy BOTH artists....But gawdamn....Jon B sounds horrible live and shoulda let the track keep playing behind him, Coko seems like she too good to even be in stage with him, and for this to be a collabo with the 2 of them they had NO interaction with each other u til the last 60 seconds of the song....
No he doesn't sound horrible live; this just isn't a great performance. There are other live videos on youtube where he sounds phenomenal especially his Motown Live performance.
The biggest question is why wasn't their music video for this song? it seemed like a missed opportunity. Jigga was in his prime so was SWV plus, Jon B was doing his thing.
EXACTLY. This song & soundtrack should've been a guaranteed chart topper, it's one of my favorites. How it didn't BLOW up with the 3 of them on the track, I'll never know. You're right, they missed an incredible opportunity falling down on the promotion. The entire project failed to make a mark because of the lack of promo...From the movie all the way to the soundtrack, although, I think the soundtrack actually did much better than the film did. There's songs on that soundtrack that are INCREDIBLE...."Keep it Real" is just one of them. SWV did a cover of the Jackson 5's, "I wanna be where you are," which was produced & remixed by Missy Elliott. The Pointer Sister's "Fire" was covered by Babyface & Desiree, it is also 🔥🔥.
Yup, would've been a big summer tune. I could envisage the music video with backing dancers (typical 90s style), people riding around in convertible cars, sunglasses, sun, maybe even a beach party or something
