About the Americans fighting in Ukraine, most of them are not active duty members of the military rather they are mercenaries or volunteers fighting in Ukrainian uniforms. Now there HAVE been members of active duty US military killed in Ukraine but how they handle this is: First, they are not all from the same unit rather they are listed as on Temporary Duty. Next those killed are said to have died in a plane or helicopter crash, very sad. The thing is that since they are not from the same unit, the families and press don't realize that 100 people were officially killed in that plane crash not the 10 that they said. They have been doing this stuff for decades especially with Special Forces, there are always supposed plane and helicopter crashes to explain deaths where we sent troops where they weren't supposed to be and officially never were.
