Baud's analysis of Ukraine's Kursk incursion bears resemblance to Gen Lee's desire to ruin Northern morale through invasion and to Hitler's use of the Luftwaffe against England in 1940. Both were aimed at annoying the adversary population enough for it to tire of a war to which it was potentially not entirely committed. This effort in Kursk looks like for the third time the strategy will not work.

I just visited Russia for 2 months. Their economy is better than what it was before the war. They say they struggled for the 1st year a little bit, but now they have had so many new partnerships, everything is booming.

Everything, except one part, is clear in the analysis. That of some parts of Western Ukraine, which never been part of Ukraine, no Ukrainian present, up until Stalin occupied them and illegally attached them to Ukraine. We are talking about parts of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. Why nobody in the West willing to admit those lands and people living under brutal Ukrainian occupation.

The part about the Ukrainian history is not correct. 1. Charkow was never a Ukrainian city, it is part of the territory added to the Ukrainian Sowjet Republik to strengthen the proletarian part. Nobody in Charkow perceived the SS as liberators. This is exclusive for the Western Ukrainians. Charkow is far in the east. 2. One should not forget that Western Ukraine had a population that consisted out of three more or less equally large groups - Ukrainians, Poles and Jews. After the "Ukrainian state" in WW2 there were only the Ukrainians left. There is a genocide forming this history, and laying the base for the nationalist hysterics. 3. It is somehow weird that Nuland and - who was that, Blinken? . should perceive themselves as Ukrainian. They are descendants of people the bataillon Nachtigall would have eliminated, had they not emigrated before. I never understood why that should be.

The Colonel is correct about the past being the past in many wars and states move on and cooperate unfortunately the past in Ukraine has been nurtured for decades and blown to full form 2014 onwards by proven western interference and fanning the embers back to life. Ukraine could have had EU membership and trade deals with both blocks, a bit like how on a smaller scale Northern Ireland economically gained from Brexit by in the end keeping a foot in both camps. Ukraine could have had the best of both worlds given it's resources, even the Istanbul deal as late as March 2022 would have provided for this once NATO wasn't on the cards. Grimly they were told to fight on and tragically here we are.

I think we should not forget , that Soviet Union was totalitally controlled first by Stalin and Beria , who were native Georgians , and then the Soviet Union was rulled by ukrainians - Kchruschow , Brezhnew and his defense minister Andrei Gretchko , even Gorbatchew on the end was a native ukrainian . For the West to hate Russia because of some outstanding debt to the Soviet Union , doesn't make a sense . They should then hate Ukraine and Georgia - the countries who became the pets of the West .

I agree with the excellent Jacques Baud on both Palestine and Ukraine. I do, however, have one fundamental disagreement. Jacques Baud keeps repeating that it was not Nato/EU that planned the conflict in Ukraine against Russia since 2014 and even before. You have to call a spade a spade: he talks about the West in a vague way, but the West is NATO/EU/EURO/DOLLAR, which are managed by US imperialism, and this also applies to Palestine as it does to Ukraine. Ukraine does not exist in absolute terms. It is a puppet manipulated by the EU/EURO/NATO/DOLLAR. And the same applies to the Kursk incursion, which is the result of a tragic mistake by Putin, who never wanted mass conscription. As a result, in February 2022 Putin launched this famous ‘special operation’, a sort of private war with Wagner, the Chechens and others, without a massive contingent to defend 1500 km of border. Wagner's operetta revolution over a year ago, with just a few hundred private soldiers, almost reached Moscow. It was therefore obvious that the madman Zelenski was going to do the same thing, this time with 20,000 of the best Ukrainian troops and massive EU/NATO support, and he had no trouble getting into Russia like a lump of melted butter. Unfortunately for the Russian people, this is a serious failing on the part of Putin, who in my view is an ultraliberal political loser who is afraid that one day he won't be able to get his footstool back at the G8. I much prefer the analysis and proposals of the Russian Communist Party and the KPRF, which have been calling since February 2022 for a real patriotic war to be launched, as Lenin did from October 1917 to 1924 and as Stalin did from 1941 to 1945.

The torture and pain that the Palestinians suffered for 75 years have gone on long enough. Israel’s powerful friends looked the other way for all those years and are still looking the other way during this horrific genocide. The Middle East and the rest of the world need PEACE!
