@@sadaapricotlet me just give you a perspective from someone who doesn’t pick sides. Shit wasn’t as expensive when trump was in office, and I disagree with some things, but it was better than Joe’s term.
This guy Mark Halperin, the one comparing the election to 9/11 later got fired after a dozen women accused him of being a weirdo, pulling his dick out and stuff like that. You can read about it on his wikipedia.
I didn't vote for either of them, but I completely agree with it being the most shocking election outcome. Nothing has come remotely close. That Clinton was so widely propped up, more money spent etc and Trump was getting no love from almost all the media... that he pulled it off by focusing in electoral votes in a few toss-up states, was nothing short of earth-shattering. That there was such broad dislike for Mrs Clinton in so many states, which rolled up the electoral votes for Trump, and how dominant she was in fewer locations by count really played out interestingly. The biggest negative of the night was her not even addressing her people - who you have to give a lot of love to for being 100% all-in... that was a big mistake IMO. She must have been a mess emotionally. Same with the shattered media who were nearly all totally convinced she would win... We'll see how it all works out with Trump, but it was a shocking turn of events. The videos of people smugly guarantying Clinton election and laughing about it - pretty sober reminder that it's not a popularity contest decided by the media and entertainment world opinion... it's about making sure you're supported by a lot of states for their electoral votes as well as popular votes.
Well he said "cataclysmic", not "shocking". It doesn't mean the same thing. And it's not that shocking unless you believed what fake news the liberal media was spreading. Just because they said she was going to win based on the polls didn't mean it was true. I mean it obviously wasn't true because she lost states that she supposedly was going to win in according to their "polls".
For me, it's the same net effect but I'll accept your point there as having some value. Maybe the choice of word on their part "cataclysmic" reflected the medias' overwhelming buy-in and posturing for a favored candidate and being completely repudiated in the results. You can see it in their faces - lots of hubris... polls missed some things -especially in a few classes of people - like uneducated white men that was noted going far in Trump's favor. The one nothing-burger from my personal conversations with people was the Comey letter - I don't know anyone who gave it any importance at all - most thought it was a reasonable thing for him to have brought up, pursued and then closed out - given that he'd been testifying about the same topic earlier. The several D's I know who voted for Trump said they'd never vote for Clinton because of "her", and said it early. I'm not really big on the label "fake news" as a matter of course, but there's certainly a slant to news depending on which outlet is speaking... I live in UT, which usually goes R - a lot of people here didn't like the guy at all and voted for Evan McMullin - 22% I think - Hillary got 25/26 - Trump got 45-ish. That's the smallest percent Trump got of any state he carried. Not a pair of good candidates IMO. Big shocker election. I've been watching a lot of these videos retrospectively trying to see what carries over to the mid-terms, if anything. It's been an interesting 18 months thus far.
I also have been watching a lot of the videos recently. I actually was not really into politics until recently so I am trying to educate myself. It's true it all depends on which media outlet one watches. I still am trying to find one as unbiased as possible, but it's hard. It's like you cant believe anything you watch or read any more, its really depressing actually.
@@ninab.4540 there was a huge hate train for Trump by a bunch of people who never even thought of politics until they were basically forced to hate him (and I won't lie I was somewhat hateful of him too) but if you really looked he wasn't a bad president at all. In fact things were fine throughout his entire presidency.

I sometimes still get the feeling y'all overreacted to 9/11 they killed maybe 10k of u in a terror attack and now u basically killed more than 50k with a lot of those people being civilians and the 50k is without ur drone strikes which is an insane number of kills by itself with a lot of them not even being able to be confirmed as either civilian or terrorist. All I'm saying is that a terror organization struck u but it seems that instead of striking at the organization u just bombed the shit out of the country where they came from hoping to take a few out while the rest hit civilians.

@@ELECTRICBIGE don't be dumb. The country had FOUR years of peace and grew in wealth for EVERYONE. That is LITERALLY the best thing that can happen to a country.
Stephen Colbert; “I’m not sure I can put a happy face on this right now, and that’s my job.“ Well Stephen, that’s because you suck at your job. Your old show was amazing, even though most of the time, you were on the opposite side of the aisle as me, when it comes to politics. That didn’t matter to me, and realistically, it still doesn’t. However, unfortunately it’s all you talk about anymore, and I’ve often wondered why you’re not promoting Vagasil more often on the show. Clearly, you have some major pussy hurt going on, and you just can’t except that Killory Clinton didn’t win.
That's right He actually told one interviewer that they had a lot of content written and prepared for when Clinton would be projected as the winner. Apparently they were so sure of her win that they had nothing in store for the hitherto unlikely scenario of a Trump win. When he won, he had nothing to give the audience but consolation.
"Outside of the Civil War, WWII, and including 9-11, this may be the most cataclysmic event the world has ever scene." Wow....a recovering economy, record low unemployment, and record high jobs is "cataclysmic"? What a knob....
globoxsas It would take a real serious red vs blue partisan blind sheep to say the economic uptick, low unemployment rate, the real chance of pulling out of NAFTA, and peace in the Korea's is a bad thing.... That's the problem with most Dems and Reps, you do not care about real world results. You only care about the pageantry of the bad mouthing, the late night watching highlights of the person your party told you to love or hate, proclaiming your team's candidate to be superior even if they are an obvious dumpster fire. I will catch shit from your mirror opposites for this one but I liked Bill Clinton, I though Bush and Obama terms looked almost the same, and like many others I thought this election was a screwed from both ends scenario. I was 100% wrong, the right person won. The proof is in the pudding so to speak. Almost any and every measurable statistic says the country is doing exponentially better than it has in a long time. You need to let go of the whole red jersey/blue jersey thing, stop wishing for failure, and stop letting premature judgments made by cnn dictate how you view someone.
You know, Johnny Carson was being interviewed one time, and he was asked why he doesn’t talk about politics more often. And Johnny Carson said this, and I’m paraphrasing : “ it’s our job as late night hosts to make people laugh, and take them away from the daily grind. I am aware of just how much power of influence I have, and I believe it would be irresponsible of me to promote one side over the other. That’s not our jobs, and I hope that it never becomes a political endeavor.”
Well, these late night hosts sure don't take advice from the most famous Late Night hosts there ever was in American history, tell you that. They virtually ruined their own career. Zombies watch their shows now.
Luis D. Amézquita : You’re correct, the country HAS changed, indeed, the world has changed. Now, instead of information being massively distributed through radio and a few channels on the television, we’re given a plethora of what SHOULD be, very diverse options for receiving information. However, because of the incredibly unbalanced shift in power when it comes to the media, we have nearly 90% of that national media coverage (both in radio AND television) that’s both owned and operated by a liberally biased group of millionaires. Now to throw in the real change from then to now, which is of course the internet. More specifically speaking, social media. Also owned and operated by a very small and tight group of liberally biased individuals. Google also has these biases, as you’ve seen in the interviews with the owners/CEO’s. M THIS, can be frightening. Especially when it concerns the youth of the nation. The reason trump won isn’t hard to see. At least for truly informed and self educated citizens. However, for those who consume every little bite of information given to them by the social media, google, and national news network giants, they take everything they say as truth. Once this becomes THEIR truth, it’s very hard, if not impossible, to make them see the facts and the reality that they actually live in. It also doesn’t help that these tech giants, are literally working together to ban and silence conservative voices. Simply furthering their inability to properly inform the youth of the nation. However, there is hope. Hope in the means of the liberal media, tripping itself up, and showing it’s true colors. Oh yeah. The world is a different place alright. I just hope that regulation can be set in motion to restore these conservative voices, before the massive misinformation campaign can go into its final stages of elitism. Okay, I’m literally falling asleep doing this. Goodnight all!
Other than WW 2 and 9/11. This may be the most cataclysmic event we've ever seen? What a horrible thing to say. No matter if you liked Trump or not. To compare it to those 2 times in the history of our Country is Ridiculous and just insane.
Liberals sharing their true feelings. They are the party of hatred. They hate any of any color (but especially people of color) who think differently than they do. It's quite fun to watch.
WW2 and 911 are the only things worse than Trump. Trump is still somehow worse than; Hurricane Katrina, mass shootings, the assassinations of 2 presidents who were in office, 400 years of slavery, the murder of Martin Luther King Jr during his fight for civil rights, the aids pandemic, the genocide of an entire nation of Native Americans, and probably about 100 more things I could find if I spent a minute on google looking for national tragedies. If someone doesn't like Trump, i'm like... fine, but it's really annoying how whiny the liberal media is. I know this video was on election night, but they are still complaining about it.
PeeboTyson Only people who followed the lamestream legacy media were convinced Hillary would be the nominee. Everyone else who believes in reality knew Trump had the greatest chance of winning. It was very much an echo chamber/circle jerk by the establishment press and Hollywierd bubbles.

If Colbert was replaced on his show with a tape recorder that said "Trump is poo poo" for one hour straight, Colbert"s fans would still sing his praises. I'm not a Trump fan. But I think the people who believe he's talented really mean that they like hearing Colbert mock Trump. It helps satisfy their hatred of Trump.
@Nick Thompson he tries his best to be funny. I wonder if people in the audience matured to know that this guy isn't funny. Im not a fan of Trump or of Hillary. dont wanna be insensitive but why do you want to hear about slavery? nobody is saying it was good. why do you want to add to something that wasnt there? are you a slave now? my personal way of living is let it go and try to move on, i dont think you constantly thinking of slavery is helping you, unless you are some sort of a historian. and calling someone racist for no reason isnt really fair to anyone.
Exactly. The reason they hate Trump is because none of the issues he ran on effect the likes of Colbert in any way. Illegal immigration? Why would he care about that. Colbert has bodyguards and lives outside of neighbourhoods away from illegal drug dealers and murders. Economic growth and a return of jobs? He is a millionaire. Why would he give a fuck about that. Supporting the military, cops and border agents? Colbert thinks these are all racist oppressive groups. Building a wall? Colbert supports open borders, and thinks ICE agents are equivalent to brown shirts. Scrapping Obama care and reforming the VA? Colbert doesn't give two shits about veterans who are suffering, and has expensive private doctors for himself. America first? Colbert is a globalist. Fighting political correctness? Colbert is the most virtue signalling PC snowflake to walk the earth. Get along better with Russia? Colbert legitimately thinks we are at war with Russia, and that Trump is in Putin's back pocket (even though Trump has been harder on Russia than Obama ever was). I could go on. The issues that Trump ran on have no bearing on Colbert's elitist life. Plus, he is expected to attack Trump as part of the Hollywood elite. With all this in mind, its no surprise that Colbert and his ilk are so out of touch. Fuck knows what they will do when Trump wins again in 2020, and this time has the popular vote. If he attacks Trump supporters then, he will be attacking most of the country. Fuck him, and fuck all the other spineless elitist late night show hosts. (Bill Maher in particular - cunt)

ThePianoPlayer elitist is not how much money you have or the ability to close an umbrella. He was saying that it was just as cataclysmic. Which is basically just comparing it to those things. Just because people treat it as such doesn't mean that it actually is . So I don't know where all your tension came from but relax.
Ya know, I watched the Colbert report for years and he was a thorn in the conservative side the whole time but this was the only time I’ve ever seen him look defeated.
David T during the bush days (2000-2008) the republicans and bush himself were doing really dirty stuff so he had some ammunition against them ... now with trump administration the democrats are the only lying scum in the pond so all of America is finally exposed to their lying bias (that was admittedly much less before when bush was president , but it increased as soon as Obombers reign was enacted).
