Covington has been on the Submission Underground podcast calling out Masvidal.. Covington says that the holdup is on Jorge Masvidal's end.. Covington also said he already signed a contract for that for that fight.. It is a bit strange that Masvidal hasn't spoken Covington's name knowing that it is the biggest fight that can be made pay-per-view wise and knowing Covington wants the fight! Chael you need to call Masvidal and get to the bottom of this! It can't be a money issue seeing Masvidal is so willing to fight Covington anytime and anywhere.. Or is he? Lol.. I honestly I believe that Masvidal knows that Covington can more than likely get him his second loss in a row hence the reason Masvidal is keeping Covington's name out his mouth...

Masvidal had an excuse for losing to Usman, even though it would have gone the same had Masvidal trained for 3 months. Taking the Covington fight will also go the same way, his only option is waiting for Nate Diaz.

The ESPN deal was the best thing that could have happened to the UFC especially now with Covid. They can put on any fights they want & not worry about the fans watching or paying fo PPV. If anything they're getting away with not making the fights fans want to see and short changing the fans more than ever. No more trying to save a fight card by giving someone more money Masvidal was the exception.
Covington vs Masvidal is probably the hottest fight in the UFC aside from Connor vs Dustin and Jones vs Adesanya. I reckon they'd save it for when fans can return.

If Pereira loses to Chimaev first the BMF fight would be less interesting. The BMF fights should be made outside of the consideration related to the official ranking. Not about quality and skill, but about spectacle and craziness.

He even brought renowned wrestler Bo Nickal to practice for Usman. It was in fact Usman who was preparing for a completely different fighter in Gilbert Burns and yet accepted a 6 days notice Masvidal fight without proper preparation for that!
