This takes me back thru the years. Grew up in Chicago, in Uptowns Hillbilly Heaven. Shined shoes in the many taverns, where folks would meet, who made the journey from Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, up the Hillbilly Highway to find jobs in Chicago. Heard a lot of great music as a boy, by way of impromptu bluegrass jams, and juke boxes. Glad to see the younger generations keeping the culture alive.
This is that youngster that sets at the old general store around the woodstove with a group of old men and contributes to the conversation. Reminds me of me.... when i was a little girl lol. Great music i love to hear it
In some ways you remind me of John Mellencamp once he dropped the Cougar part. I hope you take that as that compliment I intended. Bluegrass? Really? I'd have thought old-time if not singer-song writer
I just love your music and your poetry… I not trying to pigeonhole you but I want to describe your style as Bluegrass Blues. Bravissimo mi piace la tua musica.
I’ve listened to the song three times today.. twice to the album (Tales of Misfortune) and to this one. Something about this one is better imo. Love both. I’ve come to conclusion that Leanne was deaf.
