@@BenjaminChuang youre right in a way, darryl was probably a pretty notorious or infamous criminal and is perhaps the earliest one to strike a deal of cooperation with the humans, considering he was helping Sir Patrick to clear the undead as early as Episode 2 (Cold as Ice). Just a theory but he also could've helped Patrick in negotiating and recruiting the other criminals like Stella the Witch and the others in order to assault Herobrine's base in "Goodbye".
Yeah, I know. I believe that’s also why he got his purple eye back. I have a theory: The reason Rain the Dragon Tamer didn’t get his purple eye in ender wish, is because 2 out of the three ender watchers are alive. In this one, all three died, and he is now the last ender watcher.

The witch is not a vampire but the true nether princess and the dragon tamer curse is lifted but his purple eye represents the his ties with ender watchers. As first the song with the Ender Watchers,the Ender princess said to relay on their successor in the over world the dragon tamer. Also secondly the Ender princess has purple eyes like the dragon tamer.
