Such an amazing song. These guys lived in a a house madew ith a brick garage where they practiced the vocal harmonies. The acoustics gave them the ability to create a truly underappreciated sound. They pulled elements of southern rock and metal into the alternative rock genre. The acoustical version really lends a different feel and emotion to the song. It also allows the audience to experience a more raw and uncut harmony that gives the lyrics more power to dominate the accompaniment without drowning out the skill and musicianship. Masterpiece.🔥
Much better than I anticipated, listened in 2018. I remember hearing the original on XM radio when it first came out, somewhere in 2005. The album was great. So much music got overlooked. The economy was in flux, music was rebounding from file sharing. So much great music slipped thru the cracks. Chances couldn't be taken. A lot of bands in this time frame could have flourished with a little extra support from their labels. But it just wasn't in the cards. Such a bummer.
its sad but I kind of like having my own little unknown band that no one else knows of. It's like it amplifies the feeling of seclusion when I listen to them
This version is incredible. The harmony vocals and overall vocal inflections, coupled with the beautiful acoustic underlay, conveys feelings the original doesn't quite capture.
Looking back at me I see that I never really got it right I never stopped to think of you, I'm always wrapped up in things I cannot win You are the antidote that gets me by, Something strong like a drug that gets me high What I really meant to say Is I'm sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so Cold to you, I'm sorry about all the lies, Maybe in a different light, You can see me stand on my own again Cause now I can see You are the antidote that got me by, Something strong like a drug that got me high What I really meant to say Is I'm sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold I never meant to be, so cold I never really wanted you to see The screwed-up side of me That I keep locked inside of me so deep, It always seems to get to me I never really wanted you to go So many things you should have known I guess for me there's just no hope; I never meant to be so cold What I really meant to say Is I'm sorry for the way I am (Is I'm sorry for the way) I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold
This is my favorite version of it aside from the original when the time calls to rock out, but in a chill setting, this will always be my all time favorite acoustic rock song. Highkey would want this to be the last song I listen to/play at my funeral
I have a different acoustic version on an old mp3 player that still works. Can't find it anywhere else. Here's hoping this thing lasts forever! The vocals on it are pristine and absolutely gorgeous.
Oh wow, thank you so much!. The band had this version posted to their myspace ten years ago and Ive been trying to find it ever since. Again thank you.
I just said the same shit not 3 days ago! Flaws are sometimes what makes something "PERFECTION," unique,if you will. Right on brother!! If you're really into Breaking Benjamin, try to find acustical version of "So Cold" recorded in 94.9 Zeta's studio Ft. Lauderdale 13yrs or so ago ,It's so bad ass!!
I remembered i stumbled across this version on 93.3 back in the day and have always favored the acoustic version so much more hut a true gem regardless!
i always thought this song was some relatable shit when i was 14 having never even been in a relationship, well now to say the least i now understand the lyrics to this song on a hard level
Ho. Lee.. SHIT!! I haven't heard this version since like 08... I just decided a few days ago to learn this song and thought... "Wait why not the acoustic version? It was lit..." Lo and behold it is MUCH better than I remember! Glad to see it's on here! Damn this took me way tf back!
Brings back so many memories from 2005 - for me, a true Masterpiece, everything about it. It started my love for making indie rock music just turning 15 yo. ❤ Thanks for uploading couldn't find it on Spotify.
Come back crossfade! come back to us we need you! everything you guys do including Ed’s solo stuff is amazing! But we could really use some new fade these days!
Crossfade was one of my favorite bands of all time. The first 2 albums was absolutely amazing then they came out with the last album and it just was not them anymore.
