Guy with the voice is Jimmy Barnes - best male vocalist still singing today, anywhere!! Check out the 4K remaster of this song on my channel, also a heap of Jimmy and Cold Chisel there, all high quality. Cheers.
I'll introduce the band foy you. 🎉🎉🎉 The guitarist and lead singer for this song is Ian Moss, aka Mossy. The singer not playing an instrument is my favourite artist and dead set(means good) legend Jimmy Barnes aka Barnsey. He is the regular lead singer. Aren't they blessed to have two great singers???❤❤ The bass player is Phil Smal. On piano/keys is Don Walker. On Drums is Steve Prestwich who passed away on 16 January 2016. RiP 🕊 That normally would round up the band. However on this occasion there is Dave Blight joining the lineup. One of the best harp contributions on a song that I've ever had the luxury to hear.
Cold Chisel hail from Australia....commenced around 1973. They perfected live pub rock performances. Jimmy was 16 and a half when he joined. Their first album was quite a few years later in 1978. All members of the band wrote songs, but the main writer was Don Walker who also has a degree in Physics. They disbanded in December 1983 but as per this concert they have reformed plenty of times since. Both Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes have had great solo careers. Jimmy has has had heaps of number 1 albums and songs and has sung with the likes of Joe Cocker, John Farnham and Tina Turner. Jimmy has had hip surgery, and two heart surgeries. He has just returned to headline at concerts once more. He has three autobiographies called Working Class Boy, Working Class Man (one of his famous solo songs), and Killing Time (which is a Cold Chisel song). He will celebrate his 68th Birthday on 28th April this year. Happy early Birthday to my favourite artist 🎁🎁🎁🎁
@@kazz3956 My favourite artist as well happy bday Jimmy hell Jimmy is so good the country should celebrate all of August as Jimmy Barnes month make it so Albo if ever you read this
Next stop. 'Wild Thing' - live the Last Stand Concert from 1983 on their original break up tour. There is a very deep , deep rabbit hole of gold to check out from them.
Great reaction.. new subscriber. These guys are Australian legends especially Jimmy barnes (guy singing who is not playing guitar). They have huge music catalogue..
Huge stars in Australia 🇦🇺 especially lead singer (Jimmy barnes) who was not playing guitar. Jimmy has had duets with people like Keith urban, Tina tuner (simply the best) and other aussie legends INXS (goodtimes). Plus many more including John Farnham (when something is wrong with my baby). Along with Jimmy, John Farnham is thought of like a GOD in Australia. Jimmy can sing rock, blues, soul, reggae, poprock, pub rock etc. he was in a band with some members of another aussie group AC/DC. Before joining cold chisel.. in Australia cold chisel are thought to be more popular then AC/DC and INXS. All the band members can sing but Jimmy and Ian Moss on guitar do most of their songs Heaps of reactors have reacted to cold chisel with many also thinking ? Why did these guys not make it big in US. Well they went to US where they were treated like crap by music executives, so they came home and wrote a hit song called “you’ve got nothing I want” as a massive get stuffed to the music executives All their songs are great but especially the ones from early in their careers. If you want to see Jimmy blow most of other singers away I recommend watching him sing “change is gonna come” and “knocking on heavens door” a song he sang at a memorial blowing all the other musicians off the stage with his voice Cold chisel also do an epic cover of “wild thing” with Jimmy climbing thru the crowd still singing whilst being intoxicated and not missing a beat..🙃
Hiya it's always a pleasure to see someone who hasn't experienced the greatness that is Cold Chisel and our legendary Jimmy Barnes who goes onto a solo career with success in the 80s... this year Cold Chisel has announced their 50th Anniversary Tour around Australia and i just found out they're touring New Zealand...so yeah welcome to the greatest Aussie pub music band .. and yeah Jimmy Barnes is the greatest rock singer EVER.❤❤
It has been son long most of this band would be in an old person's home by now. Still a Aussie classic. I think Khe Sahan (one of their songs) should replace our current national anthem
Bro Khe San by cold chisel. It should be our national anthem. It gets us Aussies blood pumping. Can’t go wrong with this band and also check out jimmy barnes when he went solo after cold chisel. Ian moss the lead guitarist also went his own way and started his own solo career after jimmy left cold chisel. 🤙😎🇦🇺
Hey brother. The reason u got confused is the harmonica has a distortion effect on it so it does sorta sound electric guitar-ish. Best harmonica performance in any song for mine!
I didn't realize that was Peter Garret on the Harmonica, he's the lead singer for Midnight Oil, and was also the Federal Environmental Minister for a few years.
Jimmy Barnes Cold Chisel’s lead singer with the James Brown voice. He’s been singing like that 50 years this year and Australia is looking forward to Cold Chisel Reunion tour. He was a wild frontman in his younger years and a heavy drinker now reformed for health reasons many years ago now. He’s now a real family man and all his kids sing or play. He penned a few hits himself for Chisel and later when they disbanded in 80’s he went solo and is one of our top vocalists. Look at Wild Thing Last Stand Tour live. He will blow your mind. Watch Something is wrong with my baby duet with John Farnham. Two best voices in Australia and in my opinion, the world of rock. Phew. Also listen to Working Class Man and Driving Wheels in his early career then Lay down your guns featuring The living end (my favourite version over his early Two fires track) and later in his career Stone Cold with Joe Bonamassa on guitar solo. Whoah Ian Moss the lead guitarist also takes the lead in some songs and has a more mellow voice but together the harmonies are legendary. The drummer Steve Prestwich who wrote a number of their top 10 hits on Circus Animals album passed away just before their reunion in 2011 and replaced by Charley Drayton. The bass guitarist Phil Small wrote their hit My Baby and last but not least the legendary Keyboard player Don Walker wrote the majority of Cold Chisel’s songs, many were controversial topics. Don is the thinking man’s rocker. Highly intelligent. Dave Blight Harmonica player is not in the band but often brought in for concerts and albums. The band is adored and revered in Australia. Attempted to break into the US market but when American record executives tried to tell them how to sing and perform they told them to shove it and came home where Jimmy Barnes wrote “You’ve got nothing I want. Other Songs to watch besides Wild Thing are Flame Trees, Cheap Wine, Forever Now, Khe Sanh, Letter to Alan it live no band could top them.
More Chisel please...check out Wild Thing from the Last Stand concert. This band has two great lead singers but Jimmy Barnes is a legend in Australia and has more number 1 records than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. I've now subscribed. This band has 5 decades of great songs and don't have a bad song. I also suggest Flame Trees which is a favourite here in Australia.
If you like that you should check out cold chisel wild thing live and when the war is over live 2003. You will get lots of new subscribers from Australia. Also jimmy Barnes and Joe bonamassa doing stone cold!!
