Glad that you love this version, as all of these versions have their own unique style about them…..and glad that you appreciate what Ian Moss does…. Because in our humble opinion he’s right up there with the greats …..because he can play outstanding guitar and sing, and sometimes write a great song when he puts his mind to it…..can’t wait to see your reactions to album no 2…… Breakfast at Sweethearts….. another step forward in the Cold Chisel career.
You are so humble Greg. I enjoy your reactions. I have a song for you that you may not have listened to yet, it's called "One word". It's by an Australian band back in the 90s called The Baby Animals. lead by female vocalist/guitarist, Suzi DeMarchi. The lead guitarist, Dave Leslie kicks ass. He's another underated Australian guitar legend. It's good Pub rock music that I think you'll enjoy. Cheers Greg, enjoy ✌️🇦🇺 And thanks for your honest and humble content. You're a breath of fresh air.
I actually won't listen to any other versions of this song since hearing Chisel's version. It's not the greatest song ever written and quite simply, Chisel kills it, so i can't cop other versions anymore. You will find this hard to believe Greg but there are some Australians who don't like Cold Chisel????? Love your reactions and i can tell that you are sold on Ian Moss...all true Chisel fans feel the same as you...pure talent. All i can say about u making the Chisel concert, is that i grew up falling in love with this band thinking i would never see them live...i had heard their songs before but became a fan in 84, just after they broke up...well over a decade later, they reformed and i got to see them live...i was about 4 feet away from Mossy the whole concert and i still rate it as the best live concert i've seen, after Metallica of course, who i've seen 3 times.
I think Greg has already seen it or heard it. I love every version I heard of it. Was listening to the one they did in the German , Rockpalast concert tv series, I think the show called and they do a bit of reggae in part of it.
Yeah, I'm not supposed to talk about politics on a reaction channel but I figure music is often political so how could I avoid it anyway. Besides, I'm not trying to get 30,000 subscribers so I just say what I think. Besides, it's shit that's very real in my world so why not talk about it. I have pissed off some folks but oh well. I try to do this channel like I'm just hanging out in my kitchen listening to music with some friends. If you guys were here, we'd be talking about all this shit anyway.
This is a cover of the song by The Troggs, but with more rock! The live version by Chisel at their Last Stand concert is the best viewing of the wild and gorgeous Jimmy Barnes, who jumps into the crowd, and Ian Moss on guitar is so fire 🔥. Ian never misses a beat as Jimmy takes him to the ground singing together, and also standing up again. Do yourself a favour Greg, play it one more time live.
Wow, I thought I watched it but now I've got myself confused if it was that tour or not. I also listened to a great version from a FM radio broadcast from Bombay Rock in '79. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LMghYvNz-dI.html
Modern American politics reminds me of the sucession of Soviet Premiers after Breshnev that came and went in a matter of months. As the old guard tried to prop up a failing dictatorship. Of course i say this with a sense of cheekyness. Its what Aussies are best at when trying to cheer up an old mate as the US is to us. Sometimes it easier to say what we arent and what we dont want. David Bowies song 'this is not America' reminds me of these times. I believe in the human dynamism of America. I believe good things will come, even after a brinkmanship of this failing autocracy of privilege, through this de-evolution. If an old lefty like me can see an optimism through the lens of that human dynamic, than know that others can see that too and find comfort in that faith. But if im wrong, then take the first greyhound you can to Canada.Even Sitting Bull once took sanctuary in Canada. Peace.
Cannot remember if I heard Jimmi Hendrix do this song but will have to check it out. Only remember seeing Cold Chisel do it and Van Halen, but not listened to the Van Halen one for decades. I do not envy your position living with the nonsense you have to tolerate of your President elections. I still shake my head there are only 80 year olds running as the main guys and the only one that is a decent person seems to struggle to talk without forgetting simple things. I heard he called the Ukranian president Putin overnight. I have no idea how Zelensky took that but would have loved to see his face at that stuff up. He probably just rolled his eyes and tried to laugh it off but it ridiculous that the leader of nation is so old that mistakes like that will happen. Surely someone else in his party that younger should step up and he retire? It crazy stuff. Anyway Wild Thing is certainly a good song to take a break from that craziness.
The debate performance was horrible. Biden couldn't put sentences together and became so confused that my gut just dropped. Trump just said shit, all lies but with no one to call him on it. If the party won't even admit there's a problem and do something about it, you could see the end of democracy in the U.S.
