From what I've learned on NASCAR engines. The oil needs to be running temp when the car is fired up. And the oil pump primed so that all the hot oil is circulated. Otherwise you're just ducking up the engine
@@drivewaystar6485 no. What they do is that roll cart that stays near the car before the race? That's the oil heater for the tank behind the driver. They have belt driven oil pumps that can be spun with a drill to prime the system when you slide the belt off it.
Nah him dying was the best thing that happened to NASCAR, I know this sounds fucked up but no one else died in NASCAR after he died due to the safety things nascar implemented after his death
@@CalamariTasteGood ur ignorant dude, 3 people died in nascar that year not to mention the nhra and others racing associations had several deaths as well in that year
@@CorruptInfinityOfficial you are the ignorant one, while Adam Blaise and Tony all died in the same fashion, with out dales passing the safety fixtures in every national nascar event would not have been fast tracked like they were and likely wouldn't have been instituted for many more years.
Me too. Dale was my hero growing up and NASCAR has never been the same for me. I still watch my favorite tracks and keep up with some of the drivers a bit but after Dale died, it lost all its allure and magic to me.
despite Dale Earnhardt Sr been gone for 21 years..... listening to his car's power still INTIMIDATES me! hey, he was the Intimidator after all we all miss you Dale and I know you're proud of your Son Dale Jr.
I'll never forget the sound of all the cars starting their engines when I was a kid in the 90s. Shit ripped. My dad tried to get me to put on ear plugs and I was like fuuuuuck that. I need to hear this!
I imagine Dale hopping in, cranking it, tearing off, smacking into the back of whoever is in front of him and peeling out of the parking lot at the head of the pack.
@@corymcdermott5096 If it's an original Dale Earnhardt Lumina, it shouldn't have boom tubes. As far as I know, the 1995 #4 Kodak Lumina is the only one that originally had boom tubes since it was the first to use them and the team paid to exclusively run them that season to get an edge on the competition.
My grandfather bought one of dales cars, but we havent tested the engine yet. Before starting it up, does anyone here have any information that i should know? Or even the name of the engine thats in here.
Actually you spend the engine till you get some oil pressure up can you turn the fuel pump on pump the carburetor about three or four times lightly then you fire the bad boy up and let it warm up I used to love to race that sounds like one mean machine be nice to know what cam was in it
man that thing sounds like a monster. and i know the last car he actually drove sits in the daytona infield as an exhibit and has a sign on it saying do not touch
Also cause is tuned to run steady at 160mph+, that's a long way from idle! Can't really have both. It spends most of its time goin fast, really only goes slow up to the line, to the pits and if you're Dale, to the winners circle.
