Jared, great review. Nice to see how you go over not only the ergonomics and material but the blade geometry as well. Very well rounded review. Really like how you go over how you sharpen and the progression you go through. That knife is a monster! Cold Steel makes a lot of knives that are out of the typical EDC realm, thats for sure. Not necessarily my type of knife because at this size why not go for a fixed blade. Still, interesting. Thanks man!

Finally pulled the trigger on the AK 47 in S35VN. Got it purely as a self defense blade. It definitely won't replace my spyderco Manix in S110V, benchmade griptilian S30V, or my tops thunder Hawke. But it only has one roll to play. Great video

I have been on the same page as you as far as the stop pin and no liners, but it has been well proven and well document with cold steel knives it's a non-issue

My coworker has the ak47. I've played with it and it seems like its built really well. He's skinned a few deer with it though so it needs a good cleaning!

I love mine but it's aus8a still impressive steel compared to other aus8a knives ove had. It's an assisted opener tho how rare were the assisted?

What do u think about the blade shape? Is it a true clip point? I love the overall look of the knife it looks like “Top Predator”. I love the handle and the back metal piece protects your hand and can be used to crack a windshield or someone’s head. Most knife makers forget about making the handle look good. The recon family in Cold Steel has that problem according to me. The handles look boring like a table knife. I would love to Cold Steel releasing: spear and tanto versions of the AK-47. Also I am not too happy it is only 3.5 inches; I’d like to see a full 4 inches. Thanks in advance.

I've got a CS Black Talon in S35VN. The 'wave' feature requires some finesse to say the least. Lock up is MF solid AF though. The 'wave feature' isn't as acute as my Fox karambit or my Emerson Super Karambit. However, I wholly trust the lockout on the CS where I'm not as confident in the other two models. Great review though bro. I'm digging the channel.

He's a very bright guy and really nice. His reverence within the knife world is well deserved for all of his contributions in both design and engineering. If you go to blade or shot sometime, you can meet him.

Its hard to say, I hope so the quality is supposed to stay the same but thats what they would say no matter what, only time will tell, we should know by the end of this year

I Love my Cold Steel Knives but never carry any because I can’t open them with a flick of my wrist like a lot of other ones that I have is there any way to loosen them up to do that? I have tried that out of the pocket draw that’s supposed to open it but that only works about half of the time.

Everyone having a problem with pocket wave draw must be carrying front pocket. I'm the exception I EDC back right pocket, no pocket clip, and the wave draw on my Cold Steels are virtually 100% every time. Of course I usually have a .38 in my front pocket so speed drawing a knife isnt in the playbook for me, but still prefer knife in the right rear, wallet in the left.

The AK-47 just doesn't do it for me. I recently picked up the drop point Airlite though, and I think it may be my favorite Cold Steel as far as edc typ blades go. I really like it a lot.

Cold steel doesn’t play follow the leader. They go their own way. I’ve carried an AK-47 almost every day since 2012. I’ve tried many other knives but I come back to this. I removed the clip and just let it hide deep in my pocket. It’s very flat so it is often invisible in a pocket. Finding it in my pocket and getting the right grip on it is easy because of the size and shape of it. It deploys faster and more reliably that any other knife I’ve tried. So much attention to the details of the handle on this knife. That’s what makes it really unique and superior for strength and speed of deployment. Ideally I’d want one with the addition of a flipper, an axis lock and bearings. That would be the perfect knife in my book.

Ernie is coming to go Steven Segal on Jared's ass for calling the Demko thumb plate "the WAVE". Lol how did Cold Steel not get sued? Its the same damn thing. Certainly qualifies as patent infringement, and Emerson would clean up. Anyone know more about this? Is Lynn tight with Ernest?
