The Cold Steel Natchez Bowie Knife is a bigass survival, tactcical, self offense blade that's just a hair under12 inches. Lynn Thompson saw other punier Bowie knives and thought… these need to be bigger and we need to cut rope with them. So I decided to make a video that has part slow mo, part regular mo and also I pretend I know how to use a knife. I chop, I cut, I prance. If the samurai fisherman can do it, so can I. I once met an aussie in the outback who had a 12 inch bowie stuffed down the side of his drivers seat, when I said 'holy shit what do you need that for?' he explained that if a roo jumps out on a track and comes through the windscreen, you gotta kill it before it rips the shit out of you trying to kick its way out. I post a few of them there... I know people get uppity about them sometimes. I was banned from r/knives for posting 2 different videos several weeks apart with absolutely no warning. So I'm wary to people thinking I'm spamming. However I don't see much difference between posting photos or videos... you either chose to view them or you don't. Thanks man! The bottles of colored water were no pig carcass, but the musical score more than made up for it. Also, Cold Steel is well aware that murderous rebel armies in developing countries cannot afford $200 Bowie knives. That's what their $20 Bowie Machete is for.

I will be buying more Cold Steel and Benchmade due to Spyderco upping their prices ridiculously. They make a Recon 1 in S35VN now without the mall ninja coating. I have a Hold Out 3 in Aus 8 and that knife rules. There is also an older model barong machete that I use to edge my lawn with in the garage. I sharpened it on my driveway. You should make some punji sticks to protect that Alamo.

Theres a story of a man that had his rifle with him on bear country. A huge bear attacked him by biting him in the chest and making him fly more than 10 ft in the air. When the man landed, all fucked up, his weapon was nowhere to be found. He stood up, pulled out 2 Arkansas Toothpicks he had (12inch blade ea) and yelled at the bear to come get it. The bear actually left. Thats one very real story, and a very real scenario where a big, or two big, bowie knifes like this would work.

Excellent video as always, watching the bottle cutting was funny instinctively looking away from the splashing water. Knife fights however are to be avoided if you'd ask me, and if one was to get into something where sharp pointy objects are used by both parties involved I'd take something like an Oakeshotte type 12 or 13 sword myself. But that would no longer be... a knife fight. Perhaps a good design like an 1821 pattern sabre would be preferable?
