And as always when it's cold don't forget to bring a little antifreeze with you (Papa's) to take the chill off

Fished Tampa Bay for 50 years! Man, how old are you? You don't look old enough to have done that unless you started at 5. Great video. I'll probably watch it twice.

Great video as always and thanks for the tips. I can't forget about the old bubba jig curl tail in pumpkin seed with a chartreuse tail. Used to wreck them in canals in the winter with them.

I fish Sarasota Bay/New Pass area often. Bite here has been slow since. How's the bite in Palma Sola?
@ADVENTURESOFBZ
@ADVENTURESOFBZ Год назад
@@YurMom68 non existent!!! I fished Sunday in Palma Sola and a bit in the intercoastal. Not one red did I see. It seems there's zero grass!!! It's like a freakin desert!!! Just huge sand flats with no cover for any kind of life. Maybe in the mouth of Manatee river it's not bad, haven't made it there yet. Or even up the river but I've been bass fishing instead lol

Howdy Captain, we got into the 20's here in deep south Texas. The south padre island and lower Laguna Madre area have just experienced tons of floating dead fish. As our temperatures started to warm up from almost a week of brutal cold that started to decay the dead fish. Therefore an abundance of dead fish have surfaced. Most appeared to have been mullet as what I could observed on the local news. In closing now we are up into the 80's and possibly close to 90. Just thought I'd share that info with you. Thanks Captain

🌴 Hey CA , as always great vid and informative, usually cold weather is hot coffee and fly tying time for me , or rod or reel maintenance , or honey do jobs , but if I do go fish’n I look for dark bottom areas , slow down my retrieve , and make up not so nice names for the fish I miss , this week things will warm up back up to the high 70’s , the water will still be cold but it will still make things more pleasant outside, wishing you and the family a Happy New year 👊🏼 tight lines .

Hey CA, do you have any suggestions for wade fishing in Charlotte harbor this time of year? I go to the burnt store flat but it’s such a big flat it’s hard to locate them sometimes. Where should I target on a negative tide?

I’m here in NC around the Pamlico River, Pungo River System and water temps have been in the 40’s and sometimes up into the lower 50’s in the afternoons. So just to say, that’s what we’ve been dealing with here. Just a question, could you not use the Trout Tricks on the Ned rig jig heads? Why the TRD minnows?

Good info as usual. Could you also address water clarity. Where I fish the water went from murky to nearly clear after the cold weather. What tips would you have for that scenario?
@flatsclasscharters
@flatsclasscharters Год назад
Clear water generally requires you to employ smaller more translucent baits on the sunny days and natural opaque style baits on the cloudy ones. But lure speed and size are almost always more important than color

A couple of questions please. Do you think the same results would be obtained fishing a paddle tail the same way? Also i usually use heavier mono and braid as they say when fishing around docks you have to get the fish away from the pilings. Would 20 pound mono and braid make that much of a difference?
@flatsclasscharters
@flatsclasscharters Год назад
When fishing in the docks, Steve… yes you might want to have heavier weight line. Most of what I’m speaking to here is deeper middle of canals

Hey CA I've got a new soft plastic bait that's got the cold water trout up here in are neck of the woods just jumping on it! Looking for a business partner to maybe mass produce it. It catches trout, red's, snook, flounder, sheephead, black drum, any thing that eats shrimp or bait fish will pounce on it! PM me if interested.

CA's demeanor was different in this video. Perhaps due to how serious that cold snap was. It caused some fish kill in the IRL.
