Thank you for the balaclava hat hack! I had never seen someone do that before!! We have a balaclava from ski lessons that no one cares for / has used in years, but we are also short a hat in one of our vehicles, so I just repurposed it and tossed it out there!!
I swear by merino wool when it’s below zero or windy; from accessories, base layers, to mid layer. I bought a pair of down lined wind and rain resistant pants from Amazon last week. What a difference! One thing about keeping warm is to eat something. Food in stomach is like fire inside body. Eat less, eat often, eat calorie dense food will keep core temperature from dropping fast. Footwear that isn’t waterproof is torture, not even wool socks can help. I usually didn’t find out until in the rain or snow. I have footwear that I don’t use in winter because moisture or water somehow would get into footbed from experience.
Thanks for the great tips! One thing with her, but if you don’t want too much food in your stomach, otherwise all the blood will rush from extremities do your stomach, causing your hands and feet to be cold. 😉
I'm team packing cube. Level8 is great! When I first started traveling I didn't have packing cubes and when my suitcase needed to be inspected it was a mess. Now, with packing cubes, it is so easy and quick.
Unfortunately, I had the same experience that taught me a very valuable lesson about packing cubes. They inspected my luggage and everything with jumbled around and it was not fun to search through to make sure I had everything that I originally packed. Plus I have stayed in places where they don’t have a dresser so I’ve had use my suitcase as a dresser and this helps. Keep me organized on the road.. thanks so much for your feedback and wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway!
Level 8 luggage is functional and secure luggage. I used several of your travel trips during my holiday trip to Colorado. I packed snacks in bento boxes. I separated must haves in my carry on luggage just in case luggage was lost. I was part of the Southwest Christmas Eve delayed flights. Your YT channel resonants with me. Please keep your travel tips coming. Thank You
As a knitter merino wool is self cleaning. So with sweaters for instance made with meriono wool unless really soiled with food, just air out. Since likely it is cold weather and you are able to hang outside for a few hours and instant clean! So, perfect use when traveling to wear Merino wool clothing.
Merino wool really is the perfect fabric for almost a year round and definitely for travel! I don’t know what it is about lol but it never smells and like you said unless you get something spilled on it, you can wear it for a long time and it looks good too! I’ve been trying to find some good marina wool to crochet with, but I can’t find anything. I really like at my local stores and buying things off Amazon. I just never know if it’s any good so if you have a brand you’d like to recommend I’d love to hear it.😊
Congrats on the 10K subscribers. Level 8 is great. I'm "Team Packing Cubes", for sure. DH and I just did a 4 week winter trip through Scandinavia and the Arctic and were moving around a lot, staying in hotel rooms with little to no storage and also 11 nts in a tiny inside cabin on passenger ferry with very shallow shelves in the closet . Our packing cubes fit just perfectly while keeping everything organized and safe. I was also glad to have a few pairs of slippers for the flights, hotels and cabin, and an umbrella for protection from rain, not so much from sun in Arctic winter.
Sounds like we are cut from the same cloth! I think a lot of business travel has taught me a lot of things! Thank you so much for supporting my channel and wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway!
Level 8 is great! I, too, am team packing cubes---specifically compression ones (after years of constant business travel). I love that there are others out there who appreciate sharing their travel and emergency hacks like I do. Congrats on reaching 10K subscribers. You're bringing great content and allowing us to share our hacks too! Keep up the great work!
Level 8 is ggreat! Congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers! Yes to packing compression cubes. Get every inch filled is my motto! I always overpack. 🙄
You inspire me to try to pack lighter, however I am one of those who end up having to pay for an extra checked bag. Here i believe that Level 8 is great!Especially if its dimensions work well with European airlines. The unique design would allow me to pack a bit more in my carry on and not have an expanding backpack that will get gate checked or, I will get told it is too large for a carry on item. Those European airlines again. I hope that you hit the 20K subscribers! Your videos are one of the best out there for travel. I have been subscribed for awhile now, and I always try to like the videos (helps me remember later that I have already seen the video) and comment. Doing both of these pushes the RU-vid algorithm to feature your video so you can get even more subscribers. Oh and I am team compression cube. Reason why I need extra bags is my tech, and beads that I bring to back and forth which is my favorite hobby. Native American beadwork is my favorite. This year, I may leave my beads behind and just buy new per project.
Thank you, Stormbrise! I’m an over packer too I am just good at organizing it so I can fit more in😂 Level8 is sold in Europe so I presume they have the carry on limits down. Wishing you the best of luck with the giveaway!
Level8 is great! We are the luckiest 10,000 people on the planet! Thank you for such interesting and useful videos. You have enlightened me to such great, quality products!
Thanks for all the wonderful tips. I'm definitely a packing cube person. I prefer the compression packing cubes for longer trips were I need to take more stuff.
Uniqlo heat tech long johns are my go to under layers. Pro - tip, a scarf or neck gator will keep you warmer than most heavy sweaters. The Eddie Bauer Evertherm jacket (made with proprietary compressed down sheets for insulation) paired with a cashmere sweater is all you need for most cold weather climates up to 10F.
I agree! I would rather layer thin layers on then have bulky layers on any time! You can always peel away, or add on if you get hot or cold! Plus it’s just more versatile💕😊
Perfect timing, I leave in a week for a trip to the midwest (I live in the desert) and it's been close to 30 years since I've been in cold weather for any length of time. This is a 3 week trip so I know the weather can go from cold to warm overnight (I grew up in the midwest) so packing just the right stuff is necessary (I never would have thought of taking an umbrella but it's now on my list). Congrats on the 10K subs, you deserve it and more, your content is great! Level 8 is great!
Congratulations on reaching 10K. We are Team Packing cubes, and thru your videos I am learning how best to use, them My daughter is for sure Team Packing Cube. It is amazing how much you can get into your bags 🤩
Some people have commented that you can packing cubes take up space, but for me it’s about the organization. We really don’t need as many clothes or other items that we usually take on our trip but I like keeping everything really organized.
Level8 is great! I'm heading to NYC in March, and I will be cubing! Your content has been very helpful since it has been a while since I've travelled. Thanks for all your hard work!
Level 8 is great! Team packing cubes all the way. Although as an over packer not a huge fan of compression cubes by the time I zip them up they are as dense as a brick And I can’t squish them into corners. Love your content!
Congratulations 🎊 Level 8 is great. I love your videos. I prefer packing cubes. Since I’m usually minimizing, I use my travel knapsack as eco bag as my packing cube.
Thank you so much! I use purse is another bag all the time as alternative packing cubes because it helps me get an extra bag when I need it into my luggage. I did a whole video on that and you’ll find that video link at the end of the video here wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway.!
Congratulations on reaching 10K subscribers!! Love the video on what and how to pack for cold weather! Level 8 is great! Level 8 luggage looks amazing! Love their packing cubes. I am team packing cubes all the way, and preferably compression cubes! Continue with your great work learned a lot from your videos 🙏🏻
I'm glad I found your packing video. Very thorough. I enjoyed watching .Now I'm going back and started watching from the beginning. of all your videos. I know it'll take me awhile but it's very interesting. Thank you and keep it coming. I'm a packing cube packer.
I haven’t tried them on cobblestone, but I will tell you that these are the best wheels I’ve ever felt on any luggage I’ve ever had! Wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway!
level8 IS great! as are all of your videos! love the merino wool sweater/joggers...must haves for my upcoming trip to jordan! i've found that compression cubes are a drawback for me because i can fit more into them, resulting in more weight in my bag. i always travel carry-on only so have made the switch to regular cubes. keep up the great content-always fun to tune in!
Yay! Thank you! Appreciate your support for my channel! He won’t regret getting those Merino wool joggers! As you can see in my video, they’ve got some pilling on them because I wear them almost every day! Wishing you the best of luck on the giveaway!
One of the most informative videos I've seen this season. Thanks for all the info! I see many things that I could use even while traveling by car various places. I need to go to Missouri this month and it's *cold* there compared to where I live now! I'll be looking for a similar gray purse/bag right away.
That purse is a few years old, so I have not been able to find it online and I haven’t been able to find anything similar yet. Once I do, I’ll probably make a whole number video on my favorite travel purses and where to get them!
I needed this video last May when Colorado Springs went from 35 degrees and 6" of snow to 78 degrees within three days! Level8 is Great! and so is getting to 10k subscribers! Congrats.
I am already subscribed! I gave you a thumbs up! Level 8 is great! My travel umbrella is a second hand London Fog that is 6 or 7 inches long and has a built-in removable flashlight. I don't have experience with packing cubes but they sound nice.
Level 8 is great! I'm still on the fence about packing cubes, I can't seem to make them work 100% for me! I LOVE to be organized when I travel, and your vids are awesome and have very creative ideas that I love using; thank you! Check on the other two "secret tasks" lol!
Team packing cube, but no compression. I find that the compression portion only really works on the outer edge, and the center stays the exact same height. Since that's the case I prefer not to add any additional squeezing and I avoid any extra wrinkling.
Great packing! I’m packing my bag for a two month trip to/in the snow in the US and Europe. I can’t wear my snow boots on the plane from Australia so they stuffed full of socks, in plastic bags and are in my carryon. They take up an awful lot of real estate in my bag but are so necessary. I will be wearing my runners and my third pair of shoes are black slip ons that do double duty to wear in the hotel for dinners/breakfasts and also as slippers.I pack light. I have three pair of pants and exercise leggings that can also be layered under pants if it’s cold. I chose jeans, fleece-lined pants and dressy sweat pants. For tops I have a blouse for dinners, four Marino wool sweaters and four thermal wool tops. I will wear a t-shirt, fleece sweater and jeans on the plane. Other essentials for my bag include a small first aid/COVID kit, exercise bands, gloves and scarves. I have to keep my total bag weight down because of my bodgy back but it is fully packed and weighs 8.5 kgs. I’m hoping I’ll get it on as carryon but may need to check it. I will also take a small backpack and my Hedgren crossbody bag which will hopefully fit into the backpack. The backpack will have my headphones, medication and vitamins, (minimal) toiletries, hearing aides, electric toothbrush, my iPad, phone, chargers, passport etc. I think I have it all covered.I’m still deciding which coat to take but probably a ski jacket (even though I don’t ski anymore) because it will keep me warm and dry. I figure one coat will work better than a puffy and rain jacket. I’m leaving in 9 days so still have these last few days to mull over the final contents of my bag. Now I have to pack for my husband which is much more challenging!
If you want a little extra head, I would use my Crossbody bag as a packing cube so that you can get it in your luggage and use it later and then wear a waist pack around your waist when you’re getting on the plane. Most of the time you can swing that around to the back and tie your jacket around your waist so that it’s hidden and you can get on the plane with that small extra bag. I did a whole video on this and you’ll find that in my travel hacks playlist. regarding a raincoat, I would consider bringing one because I’m not sure where you going in the US and Europe, but it could be raining or sleeting, and your puffer could get wet and not keep you warm and take forever to dry. You can buy a packable, thin rainshadow that you can lay her over the puffer or that you could put over a nice puffy vest, which will keep you relatively warm unless you’re in extremely cold weather. Thanks so much for your comments and chips and wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway away.
Thanks so much for your comments. I had thought of using the Hedgren as a cube and it’s been in and out of my bag numerous times. I like having everyone I need all together and everything seems to get lost in my small backpack so this seems like the best option, even though it’s slightly fiddly. An alternative would be to have one of those long passport wallets but that would just be one more thing to cart around. I still can’t decide on the coat. I love my puffy but the ski jacket is just as warm and has the added bonus of being waterproof. Even though I don’t ski anymore we will be spending much/most of our time at/near ski resorts so I would fit in well either way. I’ve taken the puffy before and got wet because I don’t carry the shall around so I can be be hands-free. I’m thinking about buying a new jacket overseas but need something until then. Thanks again
Compression Packing Cubes! I definitely try to be a minimalist traveler. Congrats on $10K subscribers! I have not hear for Level 8 before but I will check them out. I currently using Briggs and Riley.
level 8 is great. i am now a packing cube convert. i have given them as gifts to my travel companions. i enjoy your videos and find them very informative. it great to see ideas for a woman who is not in their 20/30's. as a senior, my needs are different from young travellers. congratulations on 10k subscribers.
Level 8 is great! Love their luggage! Look sleek and quality! Congratulations on your 10k! You certainly have earned it! Love your videos! I usually share to my love ones! You think of everything! Very well planned and always organized. Learning lots from you! Thank you for your hard work! Always enjoy watching your videos!
Level8 is great! I like to use packing cubes for some items. Really enjoy your videos Eunice and have learned some new packing tips. Please take care. I’m on the East Coast but have been watching the weather problems in your part of the country.
Thank you so much, Patti! The weather here has been so dreary for the last three weeks…raining practically every day. We have been more fortunate than others. We’ve only lost one tree in our front yard but there’s another one about ready to come down! But all in all, we are doing well! Wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway!
Level8 is great! I'm definitely team packing cube. Keeps me organized! Congratulations on 10K subscribers! My mother and I watch your videos all the time. She keeps telling me that she sees so much of me in you 😆❤️
Well, I want to thank you and your mom for supporting my channel! It’s because of viewers like you that I keep making this continent and you are such an encouragement! Thank you so much and best of luck in the giveaway!
Level8 is great! i have just been on my first trip where I used packing cubes. I used 2 compression ones and 2 without. I think I have become a team packing cube. They were so handy. Congratulations on 10K!✈🎉
Love this video! One thing that I learned and wanted to share with you is to look for a duffle bag that best fits your luggage and has all the wonderful features a bag can have especially in plane travel use. I'm using Nomad Lane's Bento Bag and it's a good choice.
Hi Eunice! I appreciate this video as I’m currently on day 2 of packing for a 3-week winter vacation (Zurich, Zermatt, Munich). I’m so overwhelmed right now. I really am not a light packer. Hopefully I can pare it down a little. Wish me luck! 💐
I like using packing cubes - Level 8 is great, Subscribe, Thumbs Up, 👍 I like your videos - most of the stuff you show I didn't know about 🎊 congratulations on 10,000 subscribers 👏 Thank you Eunice
Level8 is great! Congrats on the new milestone with subscribers! Thank you for an informative content. Team packing and compression cubes combo for carry on and personal item bags…*wink*found the 3 places for the contest. Love the faux earmuff idea on other hats❤
Lol! I probably should’ve kept in a bloopers real for all the times I was cussing when the power went out! 😂🤣 thank you so much for watching, and wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway!
Level 8 is great! I am team packing cubes and mine are also the compression type. Congratulations on reaching 10K subscribers. Thank you for all of the great tips!
Eunice, Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subscribers! I have learned so many travel tips after watching your videos which I really enjoy! The Level8 luggage looks great and would allow me to pack in cubes and be more organized when my husband and I travel internationally later this year. Please would you let me know where I can purchase all three pairs of slippers, the large toiletry bag, and chelsea boots you shared in your video? Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making the very informative videos. I will continue to watch your videos and hope that many more people will subscribe and do the same! All the best!
Hi Minnie! Thank you so much for being a follower and being a part of this community ! You can purchase all of those things if you go into the video description, I have all the links to those things. 😊 best of luck in the giveaway.!
Level 8 is great! I am team packing cubes. I also use compression cubes. What beautiful suitcases Level 8 has. I would love to own one! Getting ready to travel to New Zealand and Australia. I enjoy your informative videos. I've learned a lot from you and use your wisdom on my travels. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Michele! Level8 does make great luggage, and like I said, a video I own almost everything they have! I’m so happy you are enjoying my content! Wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway, and a wonderful trip to New Zealand and Australia!
Level 8 is great! I just joined your channel. Congrats on 10k subscribers. I'm definitely pro-packing cube / compression as it makes such a difference in how much I can squeeze in. Love your hacks and I find your tips very useful.
Thank you so much Catherine, and welcome to the Theory of Simple community! We are excited to have you here and look forward all of your feedback on my videos! Wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway!
I am converting over to Merino Wool. You can wear Merino Wool in any type of weather more than once and it doesnt hold sweat or the stink. . I recently bought the Women's Unbound Merino Wool Capsule. You can also purchase Merino Wool Shoes.
I absolutely adore merino wool year-round as well! For exactly the same reasons!😊 I had not heard of the Merino wool shoes, so I’m going to have to take a look at those! Thank you so much for sharing that helpful tip!😍
Level8 is great! I am team compression packing cube. That doesn't mean I cram as much as it could possibly hold though. Compression just means everything is held down tightly so it can hold more. It won't shift in the packing cube.
LEVEL8 is great! I’m definitely team packing cubes. I have some regular and a couple compression cubes too. Congratulations on reaching 10K subscribers! Your videos are great & so helpful for traveling & being prepared! Keep them coming & thanks for the opportunity to win such an awesome giveaway!!!
Level 8 is great! I am team packing cube and my wardrobe is also pretty black, gray, and white but for me, I add pops of red. 🙂 Thanks for the link for the Slip on Grip Slippers; am picking up a pair of those!
Another wonderful video. I would love to own a Level8 carry on or larger size luggage with packing cubes some day. Thank you as always for the great ideas and tips. Congratulations for the 10k subscribers! Thank you Level8! Take care
Level 8 is great! Congratulations on your 10,000 subscribers. I love your videos and I get many ideas from you. I am team packing cubes all the way. Keep up the good work!
Level8 is great! I’ve recently bought compression packing cubes and I’m looking forward to using them. Fleece leggings are my jam! They’ve saved me the last few weeks. I’m saving a pair of snow pants for a possible trip that may prove rainy. I’m on the hunt for a new carry on. Mine is 22 years old!
Congrats in your 10K subscribers! Love your videos! I am team packing cube - compression packing cube. Love packing small and organized. Still need help on the packing less stuff but learning :-). Level 8 is great!
Excellent cold weather packing tips! Level 8 is great! Congratulations on 10K subscribers!! Love your videos! I’m definitely team packing cubes; they’re great. Haven’t tried compression ones yet but want to.
Level 8 is great! I’m on team packing cube; as yet mine aren’t compression packing cubes. Thanks for all your helpful videos to share your experience and knowledge. My DH wants to compress our travel into a personal item each and one carryon between us. I call this a fun challenge!
Hi Eunice, Level 8 is great.! Another fun & info packed video! I have always brought travel socks for the plane but then I need to remove them and put my shoes back on to use the toilet - but no more, thanks for the travel slipper links. 😀. I am a packing cube person too, I don’t think mine are compression though.
Level8 is great! I am team packing cubes varied with rolling and folding, placed strategically. Going on a 13 day cruise to hot weather destination from Canada to NYC for embarkation with a carryon and a personal item back pack. Congrats on 10k subscribers.
A cruise sounds wonderful right now! I know it’s hard to pack in a carry-on during this weather, but I know you can do it! 😊 best of luck to you in the giveaway!
I am glad it's not only me who thinks about tracking what comes out from the bathroom on my feet when flying. It's for this reason I don't really throw my personal item on the floor under the seat in front of me. I let it rest on top of my feet during takeoff and landing if I need to. I've yet to not have cupboard space for NY carryon luggage. Knock on wood. I hope you are doing well E!
Thanks, Brandon! It really is amazing how filthy those bathrooms can be, and sometimes on those long flights to give you those socks to wear, but they just soaked through the socks on your feet and it’s disgusting! I also always make sure I wipe the bottom of my shoes before I put them back into their carrying case!
I put my under seat bag in a washable grocery bag and wash it when I arrive to use there - I also put a large ziplock in the seat back pouch to put my items in - keeps them clean, and I don’t lose or forget anything in the piuch
@@TheoryofSimple I like hard soled travel slippers for the same reason, and wipe them with antibiotic wipes before repacking them. I like the FitKicks, they take up absolutely no space at all! Even in my purse (because of course I would never be such a barbarian as to wear outdoor shoes into someone else's house!) I pocket a few of those foot cover pantyhose toes when I'm in a shoe store to going through airport security, that way I can just toss them in the garbage once I'm through. Saves having my socks on that icky airport floor!
@@jenharvey3397 great ideas! I hate going through airport security, and having to remove my shoes and be barefoot! That’s why I TSA pre-check is great because you don’t have to remove your shoes!
@@TheoryofSimple Oh i know. Its fun to share this perspective with my friends because some people just are unaware. We always wipe our shoes with anti-bac wipes when we get home from a trip or before putting them back into our shoe pouches.
Congratulations on 10k subscribers. Level 8 is great!!! I have hit the subscribe button and I clicked on the the thumbs up! I am team packing cube. I have both the regular and compression and use both. I love the idea of taking pictures of the luggage, tag and contents. I would have never thought of that and will start doing that on my future travels...
Thanks for the sub and I’m so happy to have you here in this channel. Looking forward to more of your feedback and wishing you the best of luck in the giveaway.!
Subscribe - check, Like - check and Level 8 is GREAT!! Definitely a packing cube gal. Thanks for all the great tips. You definitely have travel packing down to a science!❤
Thank you so much, Lisa! Always happy to share what I know and always happy to look at the feedback that other people have because it helps all! Best of luck to you in the giveaway!😀
Wow, you thought of EVERYTHING girl!! Level8 IS great! Those bags are gorgeous and so roomy to hold everything! Congrats on getting to 10k! You put so much thought and hard work into your videos, I know your channel is going to continue to grow and grow.💜 BTW, I am definitely team packing cube. I dont have any compression cubes, but hope to get some and give them a try one day.
Congrats on reaching 10,000 subscribers! And for surviving Mother Nature's wrath so far. I have admired that carry on roller case in past videos of yours. It looks so much more stable than my Away carry one! So I am really excited about the chance to win one!
Level8 is great! Wow! What a fun treasure hunt looking for those arrows! Great video. 10K subscribers, what a milestone! Congratulations and well deserved! Looking forward to seeing you achieve 20K! Love how you combined golden nuggets from 2 other videos into one! Brilliant!!♥️ P.S. I’m a fan of compression cubes. 24:47
Thanks so much! Yeah, I figured it was good info and some others may mot have seen those videos so I combined them! Wishing you the best of luck in a giveaway😊
I want to be team packing cubes. I like how they keep things organized. Verdict is out on compression cubes, I’m just trying to find some that fit best in my suitcases. Great tips on the pictures at the end and I also use air tags in my luggage 😉 I wore a pair of rainboots flying out of Sacramento in the summer to Vancouver for an Alaskan cruise. I was traveling for the week in a carryon and I knew if I didn’t have them I would need them. Of course I didn’t need them as it didn’t rain much but you know Murphy’s law. 😂
Oh my gosh, I have the opposite happen for me! I did not bring those boots to Alaska thinking I would not need them and I did! I think I should do a whole other video what I pack for my summer trip to Alaska! 😊❄️ You also gave me a good reminder on a video to do about packing cubes so thank you so much for that.! Thank you so much for sharing with us🙏😊❤️
