Chris brought Coldplay to the future, with all this love and respect in their music and performance! Michael isn't only a great actor, but is a warrior too!
Every concert will always bring the best of the man...Coldplay, dont forget he was able to visit the Philippines, so wht he can say of the Philippine audience, the best or not!!!
My sister took her life on 6 July 2024 after over two decades struggling with mental illness. We had been estranged for over a year, but we were soulmates from the time we were children. I couldn't fix her no matter what I did, and towards the end of her days, I had to choose to save myself, as a sufferer of mental illness myself, when I realised my own trauma and realised it wasn't my job to fix her. This song embodies everything in the loss and the pain of being left behind, and all the words unsaid. There is a pit in me that can never be filled. This song was there for me as a lost and depressed 15 year old. And it's here for me now as lost and broken and depressed 34-year-old. Lights will guide you home, my darling sister and soulmate. Until I can hold you again.
I cannot begin to imagine what you have gone through, or are going through, but this random stranger internet is sending you all their love and fortitude. ❤❤❤
This song now embodies the strength and courage you had in being a sister. Putting someone else before you to help in anyway you could. Thats. Everything. Never change.
Watching Michael J Fox do that kick before the huge crescendo in that song will forever bring me to tears. The sheer amount of effort to do that, knowing how he was and what has happened and the effect he had on the band and my life, damn.. makes you hope that humanity still has a chance.
Beautifully said .... Tears streaming down my face also .... Nice to see the demons out in full force, even on a comment like this desperately trying to harvest some of our energy .... Keep trying ❤❤❤❤
Chris, thanks for teaching us how to be a great human being! Bringing Mr. Michael J. Fox on stage it is the most humble act a pop star like you could do! I'm so thankful for Coldplay! You guys are way ahead of many bands out there.
What is what people together with music can create? Don’t be naive. It’s just a festival where they go to sing, they leave the venue and go back to ignore the real issues and fight against injustices. Wish all that people sing and shout to demand a ceasefire for example.
Hey, I understand where you are coming from but it’s not easy to create this, and yes just because people go back to the real world after it has happened it doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen and for the band themselves this is what they do day in and day out, they create positivity and they absolutely make this world a better place for all of us and that is the most amazing thing a group of people can come together and do, I love coldplays music, but more than anything I love the positive contribution they make to the world and to the people who support them, no one brings people together in a concert like they do and in a world full of negativity, I think everyone should be a bit more Chris Martin (or Coldplay)
This video captures the best of humanity in the current time. Different people, different nationalities, different beliefs, collectively enjoying and engaging joyfully. No hate, no violence, just pure emotion. This has been Coldplay’s legacy, and this can be seen and felt through all of their concerts but especially Glastonbury.
As someone who spent 7 hours stuck in traffic driving back from my holiday in Cornwall because of Glastonbury I had a bit of resentment for this festival over the last 48 hours. But watching this video and seeing so many people together having a good time and enjoying music after we all the shit we suffered with covid and now with all of the problems going on around the world this was a nice reminder that we need unity now more than ever and music is the universal language for that. Still, 7 fucking hours it took.
Your fault for driving anywhere on the biggest weekend of the year in the UK. Glastonbury festival, Euros and it's Pride in London too this weekend. Yo fault.
I will never understand the hate Coldplay receives. Chris Martin has written some of the most beautiful songs ever, and they deserve to be recognised as a great band. They haven't had an album out for a long time but are still selling out stadiums, so that speaks volumes to me. This performance was outstanding, and every time I have seen Coldplay they have been. L❤ve.
This is the best thing I've seen in years. This old man is sobbing. Thank you for recognizing a good man and blessing him with a night he will never forget.
*This is what the human race was meant to look like... No hate... No racism... No homophobia... No prejudice... No mobile phones... Just everyone coming together as one... Nothing but love*
But like anything popular it grew, and had to handle the masses. If it was just 'open', there would be, and was chaos with added exploitation to the situation. Thats why it needed to become more secure. Just sit with in the fact that you got there to experience it as you did. Its over 35 years from when i first went. There were fences then. @Archiesquaddy

@@robtaylor5893haha highly doubtful! You die with Parkinsons, not of it! There's a reason he's in a wheel chair when he could walk and that's to prevent a fatal fall which is a massive killer of this disease.
I was there and honestly was the most emotional moment I had during a concert. This is the reason why music is so important to people, makes you realize how lucky we are to be alive.
I didn't grow with Coldplay but it'd be stupid to ignore this. Some shit is just pure art and there's no other way around. This song could never be what it is if Chris' essence didn't relate.
It's amazing how humble the band is. Chris thinks he needs to tell everyone the lyrics and the rest look like they're about to burst into tears from the crowd signing like its the first time they've heard their song sung back to them.
I chose this song for my 25 yr old son, Benjamin’s funeral. He was found deceased in a ditch with his fiancee from a motorcycle crash. He was a year clean from heroin.
I love Michael J.Fox's quote, 'With gratitude, optimism is sustainable'. And what an anazing human being Chris Martin is. I am a new fan. Thank you Coldplay, Michael, Glastonbury, thank you BBC, and everyone there. It was a phenomenal evening, even for people just watching on TV. Shows us how generosity, joy and connection can be done.
My dad has Parkinson's. He fights everyday. My heart breaks everyday. This song has always been special to me because I would love to "fix him". Seeing Michael J Fox up there ....wow. Makes me smile and cry at the same time.
My dad as well man. After watching this performance I watched the doco on Michael j fox. I learned so much about Parkinson’s that I didn’t know. It’s really helped me deal with my dad. If you haven’t you should try and watch it. It’s called Still. Take care
It’s the leg kick by MJF at 3:11 for me. Thank you to the BBC for letting this life long American Coldplayer feel like I was with everyone at the farm in Glasto in person for this magical show…
That part and when the camera's really close on a woman singing "Lights will guide you home", both really made my anxiety just melt away for a few minutes.
This is so beautiful and I'm bawling. thank you Coldplay for honoring your hero, thank you Michael J Fox for being the amazing human you are, thank you Glastonbury for putting it all together, and thank you to that incredible crowd for showing the world what humanity can be. Music is the Magic!
Not sure why....I mean they aren't a great band. Some good songs to be sure but don't understand how they get to superstar status like U2 or the Stones....I just don't think they belong in that category.
My 24 year old daughter died in 2001 and I sat by her bed and said so many times " if I could only fix you " this song was released years later and now means so much to me. R.I.P my beautiful Berenice ❤🙏🏼
I have an autistic son... This song means so much to me. Tears stream down my face very often, but we are fixing our lives together, just he an I against the world! Thank you Coldplay for letting me cry, smile and feel hope, all in one song💙
Hi there from Canada. I’m a mom to the most amazing 3 year old boy with ASD and I want you to know I too often have tears steaming down my face during this unpredictable journey. Let’s also smile together to this beautiful song ❤
@krohaladiI listened to Renaissance Man. You have a good message and you sound great. I believe in Yahweh and Jesus so it really was quite the surprise . ❤
Meanwhile those of us who choose legitimately to not pay their rip off licence tax in the UK are breaking the law by watching...yet free for the rest of the world with zero repercussions
I find Coldplay and Queen very similar. When I listen to Queen, it makes me feel the same. Even though Coldplay is very different... it's good that you exist Coldplay..Greetings from Turkey... I wish a similar concert could happen in Turkey?
I don't listen to Coldplay, but I'm familiar with this song, but seeing MJF play with them on stage and the palpable atmosphere in the audience, I'm crying my eyes out. This is the most wholesome, beautiful thing I've seen in a while.
We used this song for my son in 2010 when we had to take him to St Louis children’s hospital to have an operation to make him walk. Always makes me cry because we did it
My dad died of parkinson 28 December. Fighting the disease for 10years. I wished I could've made him better and fix. I just hope 1 day they find a cure for this disease. Michael j fox you're a legend,
One of the saddest parts about Parkinson's disease in the case of someone like Michael J Fox, is that Parkinson's disease is often followed by dementia, they almost go hand-in-hand, but he doesn't have dementia, so instead of waking up each day not remembering the struggle of the day before, he suffers everyday and has no option but to watch his body degrade while his mind stays in tact. For over 30 years now, he has lived with this cruel disease and still continues to shine and inspire as many people as he possibly can. He is a blessing to the world. And, if you didnt already know this, this is not the first time that Coldplay has brought Michael J Fox up on stage to perform with them. Coldplay have a big love and appreciation for Michael J Fox and it seems very mutual.
My mother passed from Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson's Disease. She too was a warrior like Michael J Fox and music was her medicine. Love you Coldplay and MJF!!!!!!
My dad passed with exactly the same horrible dual disease and feel your pain! They were/are all warriors to battle as long as they did/do. This is amazing and so much credit has to go to Chris Martin and Coldplay, a truely amazing human being as well as the legend that is MJF!! Class acts! ❤
Sorry to hear that. Not nice to see lose their dignity and who they were as people but beneath the horrible imprisoned shell enforced on them their true spirit burned strong within and always will 🙂
This song has some of the most emotionally powerful lyrics in music history. It's definitely one of Coldplay's most legendary songs, along side Adventure of a Lifetime, Yellow, Paradise etc. Hoping I get my opportunity to experience this in person one day 🤞
Even if you don't enjoy Coldplay's recent music, you have to acknowledge that they have created some of the most significant songs in history and are one of the most influential bands in music history.
Even if i saw their concert clips a thousand times, tonight's performance made me realise exactly that, one of the most important band of this generation for sure
My mom passed from PD in 2006 and she always loved Michael. I was diagnosed last year and Michael J. Fox's organization has done SO much to make my life with PD to be better than those before me. This is a great performance by both!
Nobody can hate it because it's not a real band, it's just an event company run by music industry corporations that carefully write their songs to avoid offending anyone, addressing sensitive topics, or straying from what is accepted by the gullible people of the Alexa era. The business of this band is to have melodies to sell to documentaries, advertising products, movies, etc. In essence, it's a rock substitute.
As someone living with Parkinson’s, this song has meaning for both sufferers and the families affected by this dreadful disease. Listening and watching this, tears are indeed streaming and will for sometime to come. Hearing that they came together as a band because of Back to the Future and MJF seems that they were destined to write what’s is an anthem for the cause to find a cure. I’ll be coming back here often, brilliant performance by all at Glastonbury but especially Chris and the band. Thank You All ❤
Best wishes and bless you. carry on strong and carry on for tomorrow, for next year and beyond. We are all important, rich, poor, young and old. I wish you the best
Sending love and strength, from one person with Parkinson’s to another. The song has so much meaning, indeed. What a great gift Michael gives us in his optimism, honesty and fight.
i see nothing wrong with using phones at concerts. It's a way to keep memory. As one example of it, I was at Sziget festival in 2014 and saw lots of greats bands and musicians, but i don't remember a good part of it (yes, i know that there're some pro.recordings provided by the festival itself, but not all band i saw and not from my prospective), so shooting a couple of seconds don't hurt
As long as Coldplay music is there , I would always have a place to feel amazing, no matter how crazy a day might be!! I wish everyone an amazing life!🎉
The love of my life Sammy, loved, by far, this band and especially this song, more than she loved me, she dedicated her life to healing people with mobility disabilities. With just 45 years old she passed away exactly a week ago... I know, I'm absolutely sure that from heaven she can't stop crying seeing and hearing this magical performance.. ❤

Michael is an inspiration to millions. Having met him several times and having him in our Delorean's, he really is the most amazing human. GO JOHNNY GO GO GO!!
My husband died six years ago today . We played this at his funeral , I still cry every time I hear this . But I love it so today I watched it again on bbc iPlayer go Chris .
on the day i was in tears watching this , and whenever i watch it again i'm in tears, it inspired me to do a cover version on my channel, thank you Coldplay for a brilliant festival.
Absolutely beautiful! My husband died almost 6 years ago and this song resonates with me. Having Michael J. Fox playing the guitar and his enthusiasm brought tears to my eyes.
One of my friends passed away recently and as it was a family only funeral we were unable to say our proper goodbyes. Being in the middle of that crowd with my best friends singing that song acted as some final closure and a goodbye. Thank you to Coldplay and everyone in that crowd, it truly was a special moment which I will remember forever
My nephew died age 9 and this song was a fixture on the radio as we drove in and out of the hospital to see him. It holds strong memories and emotions within me and my family. This just reminded me the power and strength in music. There is good and kindness in the world. Its simply starts with us
Michael J. Fox, a truly amazing man, a truly amazing philanthropist, an amazing family man and a wonderful Canadian born individual. My husband had Parkinson’s and knowing the changes over time, it is truly amazing to see what Michael has accomplished in his lifetime. This is the first time I have seen any part of a concert at Glastonbury (even with its long time reputation). I am so glad this was shown, thank you.
Coldplay never disappoints me. The obvious love they have for their audiences, for people everywhere, sometimes brings me to tears. Because in this world we need more people like Coldplay. They show us love. And this world needs more of that.
we buried my brother in law in march he was 45 yrs old and we played this song at his funeral very very fitting to a young man who was very well loved by so many we tried many times to help and fix him but he didn't want help God bless Gav xxx
I’m not a fan of Coldplay, but after watching this performance I was moved to tears. Everyone in the audience sang the same song at the same place, without taking pictures with their phones. This is the power of music. And the performance of Michael J Fox was so amazing and powerful.
I saw Coldplay live with my wife in Singapore earlier this year and it was one of the greatest nights we ever had. I lost her in April and seeing this pop up on my RU-vid home screen makes me feel like she is watching out for me. Thank you.
Beautiful!!! Living each day with Parkinson’s...I choose to find Joy...and push through! Thank you Michael J.Fox you inspire me and others living with PD! ❤️
