Chris is so beautiful as a person. He sings with his arms open and is always running or jumping in live shows, he's so free spirited and colorful, and has a beautiful, soulful voice....so full of life...reminds me of a bird. I love coldplay. He's literally a butterfly in this, and the music is the universe.

I think we are talking two different things...I was talking about the songs that most "Coldplay Fans" probably don't even know exist. Comparatively, Amsterdam has at most 2 million views while while this has 35 million. Trust me I am not a Coldplay newbie. I own every EP and love all their work from 1998-2015. So yes, while you are right that Amsterdam is classic, only true Coldplay fans know of it. Other than that it is severely underrated when compared to songs like this that have garnered major success.

Similarly, 'Mince Spies' and 'Ode To Deodorant' both seem to sell for silly money too! The 'Spies' unreleased single from the USA is also worth a lot of money. I remember seeing Coldplay at the V Festival in 2000, there were just a handful of people stood watching them. Chris Martin commented that his Brother (who was in the audience) had actually lost his job for wanting to see Chris play with Coldplay at V Festival that day - his boss had said that if his Brother didn't come into work that day, he'd lose his job! The rest is history, as they say.

My boyfriend currently lives in Alaska and in June we went camping at Denali for a week. Every night, I would stay up really late and just look out over the lookout and see all kinds of absolutely beautiful mountains and stars while listening to this song. Seriously the most stunning thing ever.

It bothers me how many people keep calling for the "old coldplay." Coldplay is Coldplay. It's the same band. If they kept making the same record over and over it would become stale and they probably wouldn't be together anymore. Progression is good. It's good to grow up with your favorite bands.
I really don't get why so many have hated on Ghost Stories? Amazing songs. It's one of their best albums in my opinion! I mean every album they have made are very different to eachother.

One of the underrated masterpiece of Coldplay just like a Message. This songs won't give you happiness but it takes you in different universe where you remember everything that happened. A quick flashback of emotions. Sometimes you feel sad listening to this. I used to listen when I'm traveling sitting at window seat. this is an underrated piece of art. the visuals. the harmony. chef's kiss. perfection at its purest form. it doesn't have a ton of lyrics but it's one of the most entrancing songs I've ever graced my sense of hearing with. I listen to this on a loop all the time while I'm studying because it helps me tune out everything around me so I can focus on what I'm doing. one of my absolute favorite songs ever.

This song reminds me when you stay up really late at night, drinking or whatever and go for a walk to your nearest park with a viewpoint. You walk through the trees and then look down at all the city lights and the suburbs and everything takes on a totally peaceful, tranquil perspective. I don't know why, but this song reminds me of the galaxy, and the dark reality we live in. But at the same time, Sky Full of Stars brings this image to my head, the stars overhead, the world lit up, but the dark is still there. I can believe in both, right?
I love this band and their tremendous range. Each song and each album is different from the next. I feel like most popular music today is shallow and surface-level. Coldplay's songs are so abstract and mysterious, dripping with honest emotion. I love it!

Coldplay is experimenting.. that's part of the reason they sound so different, but...every album they've made so far are classics. As musicians, we have to switch up sometimes to keep the audience interested. For example, you wouldn't want to eat the same thing or wear the same thing every day right? its OK to try new things. I find it so frustrating and depressing that "Ghost Stories" was underrated. "Sky Full Of Stars" was the only song (it appears) that EVERYONE LIKED... but what about "Magic" and "Midnight".. these got.. no support?? C'mon son..

people put the bands they really like on a pedestal, they want all of their records to be perfect. I can't blame them, i do this too. But, you can't always like everything they're gonna do, & that's OK. Also, like you said you have to *listen* carefully, take some time and listen again. After a few listens I really like this track. Everyone saying ''we miss old Coldplay'' needs to realise you can still listen to their old music! They're challenging themselves. Real Coldplay fans should be happy they want to give us all something fresh.
I kept waiting for Chris' magnificent vocals to shine through, but they didn't, I miss the old Coldplay so much, they never needed any change. Even the MX album was alright, it grew on me, as will this song, but its not like the rest that instantly captivated me.
Then go listen to them, they're there for a reason! Coldplay is trying something new, and I'm glad they are. I'd rather hear new things from a band rather than the same old same old. (I'm looking at you Nickelback)
