What type of music is this?

I've grown up listing to this song. I would lay down in my bed and play it at 11, dreaming of the things I would write and the places I could get away from. Now that adulthood is knocking on my door and I've changed so much... I wanted to come back to my roots and recollect of how I survived and how I promised I would do so much more.
