Hey if you're here from Fire Force and wanna know more about Coldrain: They're a japanese metalcore band from Nagoya in Japan and started making stuff in 2007, and have released 6 albums (2 Japan exclusive) and 3 EPs. They're a 5 piece and they are: Masato (vocals + screaming), he's Japanese american and the one with the blond hair Y.K.C (lead guitars + programming I believe), he's the one with the brown/blond hair on the far right) RxYxO (bass + backing vocals), he's the one with the hood Sugi (rhythm guitar + backing vocals), he's the one with the short green hair Katsuma (drums), and he's the one at the back with the kinda long hair Btw the guy who screams the bridge is Ryo, lead vocalist of Crystal Lake who are another great metalcore band, he collabed with Masato on the track The Circle, go check it out. So yeah, if you like what you see so far, go check out their 2019 album The Side Effects or their 2015 album VENA as entry points to the world of coldrain, and enjoy the music. (Update) as well, they’ve just had a comeback with a new album, Nonnegative, which is really good. Go check out CALLING and Before I Go, and the b sides too, the whole album is great.
@@phase-nk6gr metal is the general genre of this music. Saying things like metalcore or deathcore, are the sub genres. Shut up, your elitism is showing and nobody likes to see it.
Coldrain already 4 times sing anime theme song 1.ED Hajime no Ippo new challenger "8 AM"(this song a bit pop punk) 2.OP Rainbow "Were not Alone" 3.OP Kings Game "Feed the Fire" 4.OP 2 fire force(ongoing)
They just have bad taste is all, they like chill music which gets them hyped, I’m like wtf its a nice opening but how can u get hyped from an opening that is not hype worthy. I hear coldrain again after watching Kings game, IM FUCKING HEADBANGING ALMOST SLAMMING MY HEAD IN THE WALL AFTER THE BREAKDOWN! The best anime openings imo were in attack on Titan, parasite the maxim, Kings game, and now the second opening of fire force
The fire is the souls breath; the black smoke the souls release. The soul is ash and to ash it returns, may your soul return to the flame. Laaaaatom 🙏🏽
ProFireFox YT and all of their lyrics are English, though he’s also fluent in Japanese. Post-hardcore is better when the instrumentalists are extremely proficient, and Japanese musicians tend to be perfectionists. Japanese post-hardcore is the SHIT. Wish these guys would do a NA tour.
Patrick Morgan true, but this is usually more difficult for Japanese singers because of the “l - r” vocalization difference between the two languages & others issues which are similar. It’s why Japanese bands with English vocals that do NOT have this accent nature are remarkable, and why people would be interested in why their vocalists don’t have it. It is most often due to the singer being a native English speaker from a very young age, because even the most fluent of Japanese English-as-a-second-language speakers often have trouble with it - it’s part of the language difference, and it’s actually super fascinating to people like me. This is, of course, different from covering up an accent between two languages which share almost all of their sounds. That can usually be done by simply practicing, but transitions between Japanese and English require the addition of multiple phonemes, as I understand it (and my understanding is limited to that of a hobbyist), which simply do not exist in the original language, and the elimination of some of the the pronunciations which the speaker has been taught from birth. It’s really kind of impossible to imagine, at least for me. It makes the work of those who learned English at a later age - like almost all Japanese singers - that much more remarkable for the degree of success that they’re able to achieve.
@@tukuiPat think about this Keith Urban is an Australian native yet he sings perfectly with no accent so some foreign vocalists don't need to have their voices equalized or otherwise edited such as Tokio Hotel which is an all German band (watch an interview and you'll see that they speak fluent German).
Nope. In Masato's' own words: "... think that you won from day one but soon the devil will come you know just why he wants you, don’t you? ..." They need to keep refining their lyrics and their sound; they need to keep proving WHY they belong where they are right now, IMO.
@@DerpDoesBF3 Keep your tilted/one-sided sentiments to yourself. People like me drives innovation, while the likes of you would rather wallow those artists that they "like" stagnate in narcissistic calm.
As far as I know their problem is only touring in Japan? the reason Crossfaith is big is that they travel a lot, I do think Coldrain can do amazing stuff with they were to travel, maybe join Crossfaith on their next tour or something
@@DemMedHornene I think the first opening fits but the second one is kinda iffy, as soon as I say that everybody gets mad saying "THE SOMG ISNT TRASH YOURE A DUMBASS" see the thing is with anime openings not only does the song need to be good but it needs to fit as well, so the case with this song I'd that it's good but it doesnt really fit. Even though I do think the metal genre just adds some extra badassery
@@SK23. personally I think the problem with the second opening is the fact that they didn't bother trying to animate according to it. The first opening was great because they animated it with the song in mind, the second opening was a montage that could go with literally anything
To everyone thinking this doesn’t fit to fireforce, it is such a lie, the energy from this song is extra compatible to the energy of the anime, i’m not a metalhead but i absolutely LOVE this song. It fit so much to shinra
🤘Lyrics🤘 Take what you got and leave now You're wearing out you're welcome No one here wants to see you, hear you Think that you won from day one But soon the devil will come You know just why he wants you, don't you? Your crooked desire left us in disarray Misguided, divided at the point of no return You started a fire, you're gonna watch it burn Try to save yourself like you always do Every bridge we build You think it's yours to burn it down, just burn it down When everything is gone You'll wish you only heard us out, heard us out Screaming mayday, mayday Act like you've only done good Unfairly misunderstood Play the victim it's so you, what's new? Lie after lie after lie We all stopped counting the crimes You know why we can't trust you, don't you? As many people here say that this kind of song doesn't fit anime well, I just want to say that I was genuinely surprised when I heard all english opening in anime. I'm not a metal fan myself, but I think David Production really did a brave move by using this song and it was a right move. And that's why I think this opening is beautiful: it's one of very few english openings and I guess many non-japanese anime fans will be glad to hear familiar words in anime openings. Hope english songs will appear in anime more frequently.
Well Tower of God's dub uses the English version of the song which is, meh. But God of Highschool's OP is in all English and the singer is Tyler Carter from Issues (another metalcore band.) And Arifureta's OP was all in english (shame the show is trash though.) Not to mention the two inserts in MHA season 4 were in English (sung by an America's got talent competitor), which is arguably more brave if you ask me, (unless, of course, your name is Hiroyuki Sawano.) Edit: Forgot to mention two of the biggest ones: "Out of Control" (Psycho-Pass 2nd OP) and "One Reason" (Deadman Wonderland OP.)
I was blown away when I heard a metal song in a pretty big anime, I’m a massive metal head and I’m so glad it’s leaking into the world more. Just hope it’s not compromised.
Massive respect to Coldrain and Ryo for making this absolute banger. I look forward to the day Crystal Lake lands an anime opening with one of their songs.
I fucking love this song, probably one of the best metalcore songs in my opinion. Also, seeing Ryo and Masato screaming together is probably one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
This is very rare to happen for those who think this is pointless.. We barely see any metal anime openings and I think these guys deserve so much credit because they've put a lot of effort into this. It doesn't matter whether you agree or disagree with me but it's my opinion.
Yup saw Crystal Lake live with Currents/Erra/Northlane. THEY WERE DEFINITELY FULL OF ENERGY. I really love Ryo's vocals and how much of an absolute banger Crystal Lake is live.
Never listened to Coldrain but heard this song on Fire Force, and when I saw who it was by and saw Ryo featured on it I had to listen given I'm a big fan of Crystal Lake This song is awesome, Japan have some incredible alternative/heavy bands Going to need to listen to some more, that's for sure
I don´t think that I need to mention how incredibly awesome coldrain is in generall but... THEY ARE TRULY AMAZING!!! Every damn time, when Ryo enters the stage I get a hell lot of goosebumps and life seems enjoyable. This is one of the most needed collabs ever created!
Since Fire Force got its new opening this video immediately popped up.... I've never been so blessed up from this day. This is my favourite song from The Side Effects.
RU-vid recommended- 1% Actual fans of this band- 2% Fire force fans- 97% Edit: I do know coldrain had a lots of fans but the comments are mostly about fire force, so I just being sarcastic lol, don’t take it serious
I don't know if you guys noticed but the lead singer from coldrain looks like shou with his hair and Ryo from Crystal lake looks Shinra😁👌this song is a bop on its own and them fireforce united with it boom
Saw em live on Adepts 10 year album anniversary in Gothenburg. Was my first ever show. Crystal Lake were so insane and I went fucking hard in the crowd
Saw them at a fucking dive bar venue here in the states. They, imo, were the best band and the crowd went fucking insane for them and were pretty meh for the rest of the bands. They all carry each other so well.
I found out about this band through the anime Rainbow and became a fan since. I know about this song before watching Fire Force and the smile on my face when I heard that song in the opening is indescribable.
1st heard coldrain from an anime called King's Game. Soon after, heard all of their stuff, later i found out they were making a new album, found Fire Force. Just finished Ep15 where this song was now shown as an Opening. Now i am here and beyond happy!!!
Me: Metalhead that randomly found this song Comments: "I hate Metal but like this song from the Fire Force OP" Also Me: *_Confused Moshing Noises_* Edit: No you guys are interpreting it wrong. I'm confused why you like this song when you hate metal. THAT MEANS YOU LIKE METAL.
@Simon Tide jpop is popular but you cannot deny the fact that kpop isnt popular in Japan. Its huge in Japan also. Japan is always in the top 5 countries with respect to album sales of kpoop
shahmeer khalid K-Pop stands for Korean Pop. So it’s dominant in Korea. There may be a minority of K-pop fans in Japan, but most of their fan base is in Korea and the U.S. for some reason.
im tho hated them since exo rise cus, their song it was suck and just fuckin generic... btw,i talk about japan music bruhh japan was bit different than another nation they're always open up with all of genre music
This song is the perfect introduction to Metalcore. If you're new here and you dont like this song, you probably wont like Metalcore as a genre, I can say that almost with full confidence lol. It's just a perfect blend of what the genre offers. Song itself is basically perfection.
I often wonder how some anime can get opening song that perfectly match its theme and genre, it's like somebody on production commitee is telling some music studios what songs they have to make
Y.K.C say the lyric is based dark side of shinra, and thanks for information from Anime Comitte that Ohkubo Sensei(FF author) is fan of aggressive music. That why davipro choice coldrain to sing 2nd opening of fire force anime.
I was just here looking for more metal music. but reading the comments I can clearly tell that I'm the odd one out. I guess there's an anime I need to check out though so that's sick. glad to see that anime is finally using metal for OP's
I don't care what anyone says. Fire Force is good anime. This song is perfect for the opening and is also the reason why I am here. Good job CR and Ryo!!!
Coldrain made the perfect opening for one of the best new animes currently out there. Proud of them !! and props for Ryo Kinoshita as well !! Crystal Lake been putting some fire out there.
