The Cole Brothers Circus was scheduled to perform tonight in the parking lot of the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford, CT, but due to a mixup with permits it was cancelled. This offered unprecedented access to the animals, which meant we could get right in there with everyone else to take photos & videos. While this was an exciting opportunity for people to view the animals up close, it also exposed the sad living conditions these animals endure for audience's pleasure. They were standing on hard pavement, many tied with ropes shorter than my dog's leash, crammed in cages, showing signs of distress such as pacing and swaying, surrounded by the commotion of cars, people and noisy generators. Most of these animals walk dozens of miles a day in their native habitats. This is likely the only fresh air and sunshine they ever get exposed to. Traveling cross-country from town to town in cramped, unconditioned trailers is probably the only roaming they get to do. This is NOT NATURAL. Please do not support circuses and share this video which shows what goes on behind the scenes.
