Under coach Langel, Colgate has been building up to this kind of performance for many years. It is not an embarrassment for a young SU team to lose to such a veteran team. Coach Boeheim will make this early season loss a learning experience and SU will improve.
First sentence is accurate. The remainder --not so much. The loss is an embarrassment. Boeheim's sell-by date was about 2015. We'll be lucky to win five games in the ACC (BC, Pitt, ????).
@@mberly5625 I agree. Syracuse basketball should not be losing to Colgate period. What’s embarrassing is the way we lost. By double digit in a home game!!! The team isn’t talented like they were 10 years ago, but coaching has been pitiful.
And as long as Boeheim keeps using the zone they will continue to lose , the game has changed and most of the top teams have excellent 3 point shooters on the team and a zone sucks against this !

It's seriously time for a change at the helm. Year after year Boehiem is only padding his record to go down in history. Our teams haven't been good for quite some time and it's time for something new.
Did SU play zone, man to man or no defense? Kinda, just kidding. Colgate is a veteran team, very well coached and they executed (and shot) to perfection. I thought SU played decent in the 2nd half to only lose by 12. Hopefully they learned something.

We are also losing the recruiting battle this year as players who had high interest for Syracuse (Mike Williams, JP Estrella) all chose other schools and we have no commitment. Will need to hit the transfer portal.

That's the most surprising thing for me. I lived in Syracuse for 6 months back in the 00s. I remember a snowy weekday night game against Va Tech (hardly a traditional foe) and the Dome was jam-packed.
