Bold vs. Bland
Rachel and Jehred’s home has become a battleground of bad design… And while they insist they have good taste, their hideous interiors feature a sexless blood red master bedroom, a mismatched and ramshackle ‘country’ kitchen, a tidal wave of kids’ stuff, sickly shades of yellow paint, and a hideous brown leather sofa set. After an ambush at the local amusement park, Colin and Justin vow to transform the couple’s home into a harmonious and family-friendly oasis… And in addition to creating an elegant and timeless décor that balances modern and traditional elements, they vow to teach their charges about judicious color use, and about making informed and unanimous design choices. Rachel and Jehred are on board from the start… But can they learn to agree? And just how will they react when they find their cherished heirloom dining set has been whitewashed?

I love blue and white and always have. My china has a blue and white Chinese pattern. This house, though, has too much blue and white. There needs to be more color added--such as a chair with yellow upholstery and some green plants. Some small orange accents would be nice, too, because blue and orange are complements. (If both of the sofas had yellow upholstery, for example, they'd warm up the living room.) The rooms are so one dimensional and claustrophobic because the rooms are the same. It'd drive me crazy to live in such a monochromatic home. The small red accents in the bedroom don't soften the all-white bedroom at all. The mirror above the fireplace is great but wrapping the fireplace in mirrors that reflect all of the blue and white chaos makes me feel disoriented. This is definitely not my favorite house in this series.

They replaced hardwood floor with vynil :(

Some people don't have any appreciation for beautiful elements such as solid wood floors. The furniture should not have been painted white. The dark wood would have broken up the blue and white monotony and added richness.
