I got so much respect for Collin recently since seeing his absolute love and devotion for his special needs son. What a father and true man. Let alone he’s been sober for 16 years and going and true acting talent. Beautiful person.
I've been brought to this interview after seeing his vid about his son as well ! And same, so much respect for him, he seems like a really good person (and anxiety riddled which brings me hope for myself)

You know when you have no real opinion on someone but then you see them interviewed and they blow you away. That. What an incredibly intelligent and sensitive person.
Never saw any Colin Farrell movie till last year- Tigerland. Watched it to see another of the actors. What a revelation. Respect for Colin was born! Just watched Colin in Banshees…. I’m slowly becoming obsessed. His wit and heart!!!! ❤️

Hi anxiety could be confused with him being on something but I'm glad he is open enough to say he isn't anymore, he's a lovely down to earth guy and so intelligent.

And it wasnt just one vice, he was a proper hard living son of a gun! He finally entered rehab after making "Miami Vice" with Jamie Foxx.. Reckons he cant remember weeks of shoots!.. It was touch n go whether hed get back to the top. Found himself a better home in character pieces rather than a "blockbusters" leading man.
What a lovely genuine guy, an incredible actor. I also can't help myself when I say I love an intelligent Irish man. Irish fellas have all the charm in the world lol.
We clearly didn't watch the same video. This is uncomfortable to watch! What do you call authentic? A person who's gesticulating uncontrollably because of cocaïne consumption ? He is very handsome but he's an actor, what people look on camera and behind are two different things.
@@pellier08 I think he is just very, very nervous, he even mentioned it on the end. And there are a lot of "heavy" topics in the interview so to be nervous and gesticulationg a lot is quite understandable. But he did great. :)

year 2023 , in awe of your performances both in the north water and banshees ... reading n watching what youve gone through ... respecting you sending you love 💚charming gemini rock on 💚✅
He said in an interview he doesn't have a formal education. The thing is that he is reaaaally good with words. There's this interview with Screen Actors Guild Foundation, the last 10 min, are remarkably touching. He should write (he also said before he wanted to be a writer).
No he didn't attend any college but he attended a good high school in Dublin till 17, then, as he was already a restless boy, he left his studies, working in Ireland as a line dancer (Colin was a good dancer, he studies dance for years, and a soccer player too) and eventually going to work and searching for some fortune in Australia. But there he had a very bad experience, being arrested as a suspect of murder. Actually it was a mistake, he was completely innocent, it was simply an exchange of person, so he was set free, but he did not stay there any longer. Australia wasn't his lucky place. So he went back in Dublin and there he began to attend a famous Irish school of acting (Gaiety School of Acting) and drama but he didn't finish it because of his talent. He was discovered far before finishing the academy and stated working in the TV serie Ballykissangel, in 1996, when he was only 19 years old. Tim Roth saw him and wanted him for his movie War Zone. After this Colin played roles in other series and movies (Falling for a dancer, Drinking crude and others) in Ireland and England and went back to theater acting for the Donmar Warehouse in London, where Kevin Spacey saw him (a nice talented boy) and wanted Colin to play a role beside him in his new movie, Ordinary Decent Criminal (2000). After this movie with Spacey the doors of Hollywood were opened for Colin and he reached his fame thanks to Joel Schumacher (Tigerland, 2001) and Bruce Willis (Hart's war, 2002). Colin always says sincerely he does not have a formal school education but actually it isn't completely true. He did not finish the academy because he was talented and stared working for TV and movies, but above all he made his experiences with acting in theater dramas. He loves very much reading a lot and he's clever. This is why he is so articulate.
In Bruges has proved to be a long-lasting hit, and his skill as an actor has only grown exponentially in the intervening years. His sensitivity and intelligence are also stellar.

The battle of Gaugemela was one of the best historic cinematic battle scenes ever put to film and the musical score for that scene was epic! Just for that scene alone the film was awesome imo
I agree 100%!! That's the best scene EVER filmed, in my opinion. That whole movie is the best movie, and definitely super underrated. Oliver Stone is so talented, and Colin as Alexander was SO impressive to me. I think he's too hard on himself, blaming his hair for the movie, or himself in any way. But I've heard him say in another interview that he doesn't regret that film, and he loved doing it so much. That movie is how I fell in love with him and Jared Leto.
he is still such an all around, total babe. i’ve never even seen this interview but i adore him even more so now. he has that same quality Brandon Lee had. intelligence, humor and that special spark. magnetic person!

Colin Farrell, contrary to the impression I had of him in Alexander(the hair!) is amazingly honest, articulate beyond belief (Irish) for someone not well educated. Really very aware of how to express himself. Terrific man.
I wonder why you think he was not "well educated". He was educated at Castleknock College, graduTion from which is the equivalent of B.A. in North America !☘
Yes! That movie didn't get the credit it deserved...and Colin's willingness to play a gay/bi historical figure, at that time, was gutsy. He legitimizes the art of acting by giving sole focus to the character and not to career status or public opinion. The movie may have been panned, but its real effect was the calming of worries from other high-profile actors about playing such roles at the height of their careers. So many movies after this featured straight men portraying gay figures in a respectful and accurate way.
He's a brilliant actor and personality, but in Alexander, he was miscast, even he admits he got overpaid for the role. Far from convincing as the legendary military leader and tactical genius, or the awe-inspiring megalomaniac front-line warrior that men would follow to the ends of the earth. Oliver Stone lost the plot not one of his best directed, and the screenplay with the bisexual references was a bit cringeworthy.
@@mermaidthea It was the truth, no problem with that, but didnt convince he had a grasp of the complex character in Alexander, and I could sense him struggling to convey that dual sexual aspect of the character. Nothing wrong with the antagonistic romp with Roxane (Rosario Dawson) that was something wild (she acted very well), but what the hell was going on with him and hephaistion (Jared Lehto)?
@@mermaidthea At least Oliver Stone made a fair stab at that (pardon the pun) as a real-lfe Vietnam Vet with Bronze star war hero credentials, and Oscar winning Platoon to his name, it was expected. 🙏🏾

12:31 THAT speech, is something from another world, just like Colin. Only people who suffered and struggled can fully understand but everyone should hear those words and actually LiSTEN and understand what he meant by saying what he said. Amazing actor, but most importantly, beautiful soul ❤

I LOVE 'In Bruges!'. It should have been huge. Love Colin Ferril and Gleason is, as always, terrific. Fiennes is amazing as well. I could watch Collin do anything. His interviews are always do honest. He doesn't take himself to seriously. If anyone has a reason to be full of themself, it's him. He's just not.
This is fab. Farrell is a top guest whatever show he's on, which is lovely. I don't watch Ross's shows because he too often makes it about a) the women he's interviewing that he's trying to flirt with, or b) him. But that means I forget that when it's a bloke, and he's interested, he's a quality interviewer.

I loved him in Ballykiss Angel, but he totally sank my heart in A Winter's Tale as Peter Lake. Colin Farrell is an amazing actor, and a devoted and beautiful father. May he continue to thrive. Oh, and I've watched The Banshees Of Innisherrin so many times, I've lost count! Brilliant! Big Love Colin!
wow... I didn't know Colin was so honest, open, bright and aware... I'm a fan now... and I love long haired men... and the way the Irish talk... Bless you Colin... : )

Nice he has his act together nowadays. I would like to make the point that just because somebody’s pics or video is released, doesn’t mean one has to look. 🤷🏻♀️.

Colin Farrell is a great actor. I've seen most of his movies. But, I have to say..... The hair is a conversation of its own. I love it! I wish I could grow mine out like that. I'm still sporting the 80s mullet. The bangs are too much to tend to while trying to grow them out.

💐The self effacing emotional transparency here by Colin was lovely, but I cannot imagine the average person coping with such invasive probing and investigation so well. Good performers/artists feel for us professionally and publicly as a service to us and I wish we had more compassion for our fellow men in this respect. Money and isolation can be killers.
