What’s amazing about Stanley Tucci is how well he’s avoided being type cast. Other actors (DeNiro, Pacino...) are essentially only playing themselves now but Tucci has played and continues to play so many vastly different almost unrecognizable roles. He should be teaching acting at NYU
Editing. They shoot the interviews as one whole thing and then the editors cut it where they need to. The interview probably went on for a bit but they had to cut it
Really? I'm a huge fan of both actors - but I found that clip slightly cringey, and thought "well, that's 10 bucks saved". What did you like about it? Is there some hidden message or point I didn't get?
@@lenkacfk7155 if you didn’t get it the first time you watched the clip, then you won’t get it..it’s about what they make you feel, apparently it didn’t work for you and that’s ok.
It’s so good to see Colin firth! I’ve only ever seen him be once on Jimmy Fallon’s show back in like 2013 I never realised how much I loved him until now! 😅
@@sallysmith920 I’ve watched it! And you’re right, I loved every second of it! I’ve seen all his films at this point, I think it might be unhealthy lol
Anagha: You MUST 'know' him from the King's Speech (excellent), Kingsmen (didn't like it), he can do so much more than being sultry Mr Darty.... - I'm SO looking forward to seeing that new movie. Love Tucci too, this will be a treat!
@@kikivolauvent1 it definitely will! I absolutely love the king’s speech but the role that me fall head over heels for him was definitely Bridget Jone’s Diary! (I know it’s mainstream but what can I say?) I also like underrated movies of his like, the railway man, the girl with the pearl earring and many more! Tucci is an absolute legend with everything he does
Your show is absolutely great, I watch it here in Europe with breakfast, as it has been just posted, like a baguette that just came out of the oven... Congratulations!!
One good thing about this quarantine is that I've learned to make cocktails that are more than just booze plus one mixer. Now I use TWO kinds of booze with that one mixer! 😛😝
This interview totally warms my heart, even corners of it that I wasn't aware existed. I wish I had 20-some-year friendships like this one to show for (and to lean on, if need be). Anyway, much to my chagroni, I only have my pooch to shower with affection and anecdotes. Which is absolutely fine, too. 🤍
I remember my husband driving me to the hospital in our little Italian town when I was in labor. That was 18 years ago and to this day is the scariest car ride I’ve ever had! Stephen, your wife is lucky she wasn’t in labor!
The movie about Nazis they are referring to is Conspiracy. It is one of the scariest movie ever and all it is is people talking. Amazing performances by many actors.
I wanted to see during the first part of the interview that Stanley seemed a bit "influenced" looking at his red complexion. When he lifted his cocktail it confirmed it for me. He is drunk.
Can I just say that I love your show!! Specially this interview with Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth. And you have the best band ever!!! Love you Stephen! You make my life all the way here in Manila, Philippines bearable! More power to you!
This isn’t the specific piece of music you had asked about, but I hope it’s still helpful with what you’re looking for. In this first video, Jon Batiste and Stephen talk about Jon’s new album that’s about to be released in March called “We Are.” ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zNDIHa_0BGQ.html This video is his single that they just dropped from his upcoming album. It’s called “I Need You” and people should definitely experience the song by watching it, not just listening to it, at least the first time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AXT00sWwuTQ.html Now, the last video I’m sharing is “Jon Batiste & Friends (Live) | Jazz Night In America” and it is an hour of fantastic (in my humble opinion) jazz. So I hope you enjoy it too!🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gyds04mi_Z0.html
@@KatySueWho - I would have known that too but that you went to the trouble of looking it all up is super! I hope that Christie appreciates your help :)
I read in interview with the director he worked really hard to get ready for the movie. Sounds like he picked it up again and decided to do some playing during the pandemic. So it sounds from the first part they switched roles 2 weeks before the shoot. I can't imagine he had a lot of time even if they shot it last and it sounds like the shot close to chronological. They say you can't crash practice. He did. Give him the oscar for playing mobile.twitter.com/ETCanada/status/1354515944178143234
Yes. Because he shot the movie it sounds like he has interest in piano again and was playing during pandemic. He picked piano up again for the movie. See the end of et Canada video in my previous reply
So hilarious about driving in Italy. When i went with my family we rented a car and dad LOVED driving in Italy xD it was very intense tho and mom did not like riding in the car
Fun stuff but bad interviewing on Colbert's part in this segment. He doesn't let Tucci answer and keeps going to Firth for his comments. Seriously, just watch it again and add up the mere seconds Stanley Tucci is allowed to speak vs. Colin Firth. Stephen Colbert is actually the guy who takes the most (and by far!) air time. I love all 3 guys, but am disappointed by Colbert here.
“I have this strange notion, we are a democracy … if you can’t get the votes … you can’t [legislate] by executive order unless you’re a dictator. We’re a democracy. We need consensus,” he told George Stephanopoulos.
I don't think Stephen realises how common a term bungalow is. Most of us live in semi-detached (duplex) homes so to have a bungalow is a big step up and far more than a lean-to.
Firth is believed to have homes in London and Umbria. Tucci lives with his wife and children in London. I don't know if he has properties in the US and/or Italy as well
How convenient that they didn’t have to fly to the states to be on the show! Not that much else about quarantine has been nice, but that sounds pleasant.
They play a couple and they travel around in an RV in England. Stanley’s character has early onset dementia and it’s about them learning to deal with that.
Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy is a six-part CNN Original Series that follows Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci as he travels across Italy to discover the secrets and delights of the country's regional cuisines. Starts on Sunday 14th February
im sorry i thought that flickr image was a real proof like Our Lady of the Fjords (newfoundland) if u look closely at high res image (use a contrast tool in paint) at the face it is the christ's face - wasnt trying to upset you - i know u switched all these monologues and i get it
Colin was punished for LGBT propaganda... his wife cheated on him..they got divorced... now he is facing old age alone... he shouldn't have played gay... He should have played Hamlet and King Lear!!! Very sorry for him!
I love driving in Italy and Sicily - the sheer feeling of being alive, at the end of the journey, is worth all the fear! I once had 3 cars pull out, in front of me ... and nobody got hit!
Sally, you're lucky to live to tell the tale. Many years ago my then puppy dog jumped out of the open window when we drove through a market town (on the day of the market) and 'recovering' our doggie is still a harrowing thought all these years later, and my husband once found himself on the staircase of a church (in the car) because he was 'squeezed' between several young and eager drivers in old battered cars, plus driving on motorways was a test of Do you REALLY want to live or are you just going to give in anyway..... :)
