Colin Kaepernick gave a powerful speech in Amsterdam when he received Amnesty International's Ambassador of Conscience Award 2018. His former teammate and close friend, Eric Reid, was present at the ceremony and handed him the award.
This young man is everything I would love my sons to embody and embrace. He is standing tall on the shoulders of giants, his sacrifice is duly noted and highly appreciated! We love you Colin and will always and forever stands with you. Also a massive thank you 🙏🏾 to your friend Eric and your family.♥️♥️♥️🇯🇲 love you both my brothers
devinngeorge Please don’t bother with your ignorance and stupidity on something that I am well up to date on. I don’t need to propaganda machine to teach and educate me and my children, I do it myself and maybe you should take the time out to do the same. With knowledge comes growth, maybe you should try it before trying to tell someone else how to like her life and how to teach my children about the real world. Their real world 🌍, ps if you didn’t notice I am Jamaican/British, Marcus Garvey should be a reference when talking to me. Freedom, justice and equality for all.
Where's Colin now Mammy??? that 3rd stringer NFL bust only knelled to get attention for himself..I have a better chance at playing QB in the NFL ha ha ha ha ..we put his pretentious black ass out of business for good
I only noticed how unintelligent he sounds, ya know how you can just tell some people aren't that smart just by listening to them speak???? The struggle is real in the NFL!!!! haha
Kevin B. Hes not smart but wise, and wisdom has long life in one hand and riches and wealth in the other. So before you try and down Kap what selfless act have you done lately. Repent and get on the narrow path that few find.
@@Emily-ho5fc No shit he did it for publicity and attention, he's a famous qb and he wanted that to go to work spreading around the idea that racism hasn't gone away. And systematic racism does exist dude.
The brother is passionate about his cause and his words runs deep in my soul. What a message!!! Delivered with simplicity, eloquence and amazing articulation! God bless you Colin. You're a beacon of hope and love, for us people of color everywhere!
I applaud you Bro.Kapernick. YOU HAVE Spoken. I hear your ❤ HEART. WOW. Love is the root cause. Sounds like. Dr. King. Blessings to YOU. YOU took a stand by bending a knee without violence. What a risk...WHAT A MAN..FEARLESS!!!!
Yes and I love his speech. So unapologetic and truthful with it. He does indeed look like a King and I'm so proud of him standing up for our men. Thank you Colin Kapernick.
@@buddyboycandy it's the fact that he even put himself in that position to loose everything and what was on the line is bigger then just money the man is obviously still going to want to have some income so obviously he did the deal with Nike that don't take away from his legitimacy and what he sacrificed he deserves all the good things that come his way after that if that means a Nike deal so be it.
@Delphic Tableau trying to explain to Rob is clearly falling on deaf ears. He's probably the same guy who thinks kneeling has to do with the flag and thinking it's disrespectful to our men and woman who fought for our country when really it had nothing to do with that. It had to do with the system of oppression and how it's being ignored. People of color see it and understand it because we deal with it everyday.
This beautiful human being has touched so many. Martin is embodied in the soul of this man! He will overcome. He is us and we are him. Stay beautiful my sweet brother.
Largesse1000 Aptoide After carefully examining the Colin Kaepernick situation, you are telling the truth. I do not care for race-baiting at all. And I have found out, that all of this is behind him not being able to throw the ball down the field as he supposed to, and being pussy-whipped by his supposed to be black girlfriend. I wish him well.
So....because a person hasn’t “struggled” your saying they shouldn’t use the platform they have in an attempt to bring awareness to people who actually have struggled? Why? What’s wrong with using what’s he’s been blessed to have to shed light on those less fortunate? There is literally nothing wrong with wanting to help, no matter what social, political or racial background you come from and The idea that someone is demonized for wanting to do so doesn’t show doesn’t show his lack of character, it shows others.
Anantavijaya Das well at the end of the day I respect anyone’s opinion whether they differ from mine or are the same. I’m a 34 year old black man. I’ve had my experiences with the police, some I deserved (speeding, DUI, car accident) some I didn’t (Walking in a nice neighborhood, being searched outside a store on Black Friday (the irony) and just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’m not knocking how anyone feels no matter what side they stand on the issue. I do think however, people should realize we are not all the same. We have not all had the same experiences with the police or in life and general and because of that we should not dismiss another persons feelings or life experiences. I’m not trying to start a race debate or anything but as someone who has experienced racism from coworkers, friends and yes the police, I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t exist to satisfy anyone’s desire to sweep it under the rug. And that’s not a shot at anyone in this comment section either. Just my opinion.
@Anantavijaya Das it does not require someone to suffer something to speak against it,if you see an evil going on in your society,it does not require you to suffer the evil to speak against it,slavery in america was also fought by people who were not slaves themselves.
u still don't get it with ur narrow mind … he's more than an athlete … he's a HERO … and will be remembered for a long long time … and nothing u can do abt it ...
A very historically and contemporarily specific and powerful speech. But more importantly he backs such words with action and his own money via his foundation. So glad this was posted!
Colin Kaepernick makes all mother's proud. This speech demonstrates leadership which is essential to address some of the horrible aspects of American society and is way more important that football.
He is a hypocrite, he takes money from Nike, which uses forced labor in China to make its shoes and pretends he cares about justice. He's for justice as long as it doesn't interfere with his income.
What manner of man. Colin Kaepernick like so many freedom fighters before him, will be remembered for a very long time, even after he leaves this planet like the rest of us.
Xxpresso0 woah you guys are completely out of your minds. Why does this upset you so much? Why does giving a voice to people murdered with impunity & facing daily violence & oppression & humiliation from the state (& the president & his lackeys & frothing cultists as you appear to be) make you so damn angry? He's taking a stand against state violence against the people. Aren't you guys supposed to hate the state? What is wrong with what he's saying, anyway? He's completely right about what people face. Maybe take a breather & realise just how insane you sound when you fly off the handle this much over a man protesting state violence. Something isn't right in your head when you get this enraged over a perfectly just protest.
Darc Gibson I'll answer that for you with an excerpt from Malcolm X that CK just used : *_"I'm a human being first and foremost and as such I'm for who ever and what ever benefits humanity as a whole"_* . These kinds of people are _inhumane_ and most cannot be helped. Sometimes we have no choice then to let them bathe in their misery and hate while praying their offspring don't follow them.
Taking a stand knowing it would cost him his career, his way of life and millions in earnings black listed from a career he worked hard to achieve.. Most of us would not even give up a minimum wage job much less hive up millions. I'm proud of him.
Don't worry about his bank account. He's not stupid, no where near it. He's gonna make way more money with his activism and hopefully make a change too.

It may have cost him his millions in the NFL but because of being found guilty of collusion by the NFL owners, managers etc. he was paid big time and Nike endorsing him there's some more millions for him. Don't worry about his bank account! He's doing just fine. See, when God is on your side nothing can stop. Thank You! Mr. Colin Kaepernick for taking a stand for the voiceless! Your parents raised you right!!
@Rob YOU ARE THE TROLL HERE I SEE. SIT THEFK DOWN, AND LISTEN TO SOME OF THE THUMBS UP HERE BC YOU CLEARLY ARE THE MINORITY & OUT NUMBERED OF THE THUMBS DOWNERS ON HERE. NOW SIT CHO ASS DOWN
Dwad3flash1_ yes, a hypocritical asshole raised in privilege by adoptive white parents who gave him everything in a country where one can become a millionaire by throwing a football around. Of course, no wonder he feels oppressed and mistreated.
When he said he fights for anyone suffering at the hands of police brutality. I kept on thinking about the time the Catalan police officers where repeatedly stomping on women who were in line to vote.
live a good decent life, respect your elders, treat your parents right, you will never meet police brutality, Long story short take the high road. Colin never lived a black life, just like Obama. There is no Aloha spirit in Colin, because Aloha is a two way street. He got no respect for the cops, they will never respect him either.
@Snooty Fox Damn, you have to resort to calling people bitches just because of their opinion, damn what a miserable life....you sound evil & mean spirited
Strong example of what a true leader should be. Speaking truth gives me hope that there are still some with integrity and qualities beyond fame or money that is still alive and present among a few who will stand against what they know is wrong
They are still killing us in our home own home without any cause. Look what happened to Botham Jean in Dallas. When is it going to end? I support you 100% my brother.
A few year's ago he dint look this black.. He is fine and doing fine things.. He risk a lot of money to be able to speak out... Its too many of us who won't risk $100 compared to his millions... Let's stand with this brother.. Go bro go!!!! Don't stop believing!!!
In September 2018, i remember going to Macy's to purchase some Nikey...I told the Sales Clerk with a hand on my heart, I was doing this for Colin Kaepernick...I thought he was amazing, bold, fearless and courageous...He was my hero, took a stand even when it wasn't popular...Lord, may we listen to his outcry, thank you for giving him a voice for the voiceless...Also, Nikey thank you for believing in him when everyone discarded him...You both rock: Colin Kaepernick and Nikey.
As An Older Brother I Am So Proud Of Colin And Have Been A Supporter From Day one!!! I Love This Brother And At This Moment I Am Watching All The Rats That Turned On Him, Scurry Under The Cover Of Political Correctness To Now Acknowledge That He Was Right. Peace And Blessings To You Colin!!! 304 People Disliked This Speech... Shameful!!!!
I got nothing but love for you my brother. Keep on keeping on. YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO ALL OF US. You are the voice of all our ancestors and all our people. YOU REPRESENTS THE STRUGGLE AND TRUTH AND THE VOICE OF OUR PEOPLE. WE HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR, WE SUPPORT YOU FULLY, WE ADMIRE YOU AND WE THANK YOU AND ARE VERY HONOURED TO HAVE YOU REPRESENTING US IN TRUTH AND OUR STRUGGLES TO BE ACCEPTED AS A PEOPLE AND TREATED LIKE S PEOPLE WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY AND THE RIGHT TO BE HEAR AND AND TREATED FAIRLY AND JUSTLY.. ONE LOVE✊🏿💪🏿👊🏿☝🏿👍🏿✌🏿🙏🏿💯☀️🖤❤️💚💛☀️
Colin Kaepernick, a living legend of supreme sportsmanship: beyond beautiful inside and out: to give up untold wealth for a moral principal: a MAN ABOVE MEN....Colin Kaepernick.... a wonder, and the stuff of which heroes are made.
I seems tough to maintain your humanity when you are enveloped by wealth and power, as it happens so seldom. I can't help admiring this man who, though wealthy and famous, is willing to risk both to stand up for something that matters so much more than to preserve a celebrity status. Thanks. Mr. Kaepernick, for being the best kind of role model.
Great example of humanity , MLK , Mandela and Ghandi to name but a few , would all be applauding your stand for black lives matter, you were right all along and ahead of all of us with your bravery 👍❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏
