Well played defo enjoyable. Your young link has a few things I havnt seen from toast or tweak or anyone. But I been link from melee and always have loved for young link. It’s hard life for young link, I feel like you gotta really put the work in(in the lab) and know your percentages and combos character specific down to the T. You give hope for link mains but dam that speed and set of confirms for captain falcon is mean looking. Making me play flacon for fun these days. That knee is too satisfying or wounding to be on the wrong end of. Change your whole day ffs 🤣

Ausar the Vile lol its probably a good option in this matchup. Young links usually follow up their projectiles with an aerial or some other close up attack so shielding the projectile then using up b to catch the follow up seems like a good option.

I got to play Colinies on elite smash the other day, my falcon against his wolf tho, not his young link. it was a really fun game, but we only played once :( I also got to meet him at Smash Con a few years ago, my brother and I sat next to him during Top 8 for Smash 4 and he was telling us all about VoiD cause he was good friends with him (or something like that). Colinies is a super chill dude. Always cool to make that human connection, and see them a few years later being even more sick with their character!!

@@bestplayerofalltime105 Nope I lost! We were both on last stock though, him at around 40% and me at around 70ish(?) and I got two-framed by wolf d-smash at the ledge. I gotta learn to mix up my recoveries because he called me out on every attempt back to stage basically.

Winterlogical I think I remember fighting henke once. Though it was when I was pretty bad at the game. I joined during his st. Judes charity stream. I was k. Rool and he was young link. Needless to say I lost pretty hard.

Glad to see Fatality will keep the entirety of these instead of cutting them. Most other top players who started doing FT10 too have been cutting or editing the whole thing and it's less enjoyable imo.

Yink grab is like frame 14 with like 50 frames of end lag. You usually get about a 30-40% combo on falcon off grab. Not to say you shouldn't use it, but it's definitely a risky move and the risk-reward isn't great.

Y. Link is dumb scary in the right hands. The amount of combos (both with projectiles and without) he can pull off is insane. Unfortunately the character’s reputation is kinda marred because of the online spammers.

Colonies needs to use waaaaaay more upsmash, it’s a frame 10 move with pretty good range for YL standards and kills around 110. So many times he tried and often failed going for flashy kill setups when upsmash would’ve worked

Spade yeah I use that up b after bair but he could incorporate turn around grab after bair once the opponent starts to catch on and tries to shield the up b but ya definitely he is really fun to watch and see all the different ways he plays right?!

Never thought Id see a falcon spam more than a young link. So many up B's he could have punished but instead got away with. Also 9/10 times fatality did jump from ledge option but colonies never picked up on this

Good match, but there was a lot of sloppy play. Offline this would have been a tougher match up for Fatality. He still would have won most likely but I saw quite a few SDs from Colinies and up B whiffs.

Jump a bunch and capitalize on his moves that leave him vulnerable like his boomerang throw and his grab attempts. Stay in his face the entire matchup, running him down the entire time. Dont let Young Link control the pace of the game or you'll end up in a bad situation.

All baiting with ultra safe aerials over and over and doing flowchart punishes, thats the game. So if it aint hype then what is? Just about the only other style is Olimar/ROB/etc zoner styles.

Could I get an honest guide to beating young link? All the videos on RU-vid I feel like are about beating online young links that press the b button without thinking much. I get the closest with PT, Wolf, and Marth, but I feel I still struggle a lot.

Watch matches of your mains against YL and take notes. He has really good frame data and punish game (and neutral) but struggles offstage and has to get somewhat specific kill setups. I think all those characters do well against YL, maybe Marth the most but not sure
