Ralph was brought in initially to be an advisor, get a good look of the team, write a report and put down a plan to get the club where it should be. The problem was that United being the incompetent shit show it is decided to cheap out again and have him as the manager as well instead of an actual manager. After a the season finished with players downing tools and Ragnick out of his depth managerial wise the higher ups knew the report wasn't going to stroke their ego and would cost a lot of money so they sacked him instead. Him getting the Austria job would not effect his ability as a club advisor so anyone claiming that's why he got sacked is full of shit. All in all the position we are in right now isn't down to Rangnick, it's down to the players and the higher ups who have fucked us for over a decade. The Glazers are using his poor managerial run as a shield from fan criticism, nothing new just the same old shit because the majority of our fans seem to have the memory of a fucking gold fish and forget the main problem and instead attack the newly presented problem caused by the main one.

The same "incompetent shit show” team which finished 3rd and 2nd the seasons before. The same “incompetent” team which lots of pundits claimed “was like a family” in previous seasons. Went on good cup runs too. Let's be real here. They had a bad season under numb skull managers like Ole and Ralf, accompanied by Ronaldo’s disjointed chemistry with the attack. They will be back to where they are fighting for titles under ETH again, now that Ronaldo will no longer be playing Also, Ralf should be blamed. He did not do anything useful at all and was clearly incompetent to handle an elite big club. Even had the audacity to force the United board into paying him to be an "advisor" or "consultant" for two years when all he did was whine the whole of the 6 months. United were right to sack him. You can’t be an advisor or consultant of something you can’t coach.

Agree with your view as a Man Utd fan. While Ole is obviously not in the "top manager" bracket, and even if it is a flattering statistic, he still managed to take MU to 3rd and 2nd in his two full seasons at the helm. He was one penalty kick away from the Europa League trophy too. Against that background, the way that the players stopped trying to impose themselves on any game (CR7 excepted) during all of the 2021/22 season would have seen them given the sack in all other walks of life. Rangnick was handed a poisoned chalice, and now he is Austria's gain.

@@user-ls8ks7kv8c Yes, well said, that is exactly what occurred, and it is quite evident that the rotten attitude has not been eradicated yet. Unfortunately, it seems like a generational change or a complete overhaul that is needed at present, which will never happen in a single transfer window. Lots of armchair critics have a lot to say about the age of certain players brought in - a complaint which is not without merits - but it looks to me like Ten Hag is happy to bring players in who have some of that mongrel, knock-me-down-i'll-get-up-again attitude about them. Experienced players who can drag those with the lazy & entitled demeanours along to work a bit harder...until they shape up or ship out. Of course, I don't know what happens behind Carrington's closed doors so I could be completely wrong on everything. Still, I am convinced that the fastest possible cure at present is to enforce change at the top and then also at the bottom where Ten Hag MUST be given as many years as needed to build a high-performance squad again at which time the younger stars can be easier integrated into a winning culture. I feel so sorry for the Iqbals and Savages and Garnachos etc but I do not want to see them get trapped in that shell of negativity either. It's going to be a very difficult season in many ways.

As a german and Bayern fan, who despises the Premier league for their compromised morals when looking at investors, ownership and origin of money, I always respected Man United and when Rangnick was appointed I was hyped. I was like „United might be the English club I can support“. I watched every game, ever press conference, etc. It was so visible, that Rangnick knows exactly what he wants to do and what he needs in order to get there. The January window was a complete joke. It was this moment when I understood how shit and rotten this club is top to bottom. Rangnick was made false promises of influence and the team is just the worst assembled group of individuals I have ever seen. Rangnick is a good coach, but the fitness levels of the team need to be acceptable. The players looked like they had been chilling on Mykonos for the whole year when they came lol. English People always talk about the physicality and speed of the game, but tbh I think when you look at mid-table teams, German football is as fast and physical, probably even more. The issue is United wasn’t physical. (Just look at how Austria plays under Rangnick. They destroyed Croatia in his first game.) The use of modern technology at united is also shocking. They didn’t have an Analyst. Looking at their fitness tests and monitoring for me as a Bayern fan, where they use the best stuff in the world was absolutely shocking. United has more money than Bayern. Why are they training like my hometown club who just promoted to the 3rd german division? Now with Ten Haag there is gonna be some Bayern DNA in the club, Gegenpressing and fluid ball movement in possession will still be the type of football United is gonna play, so I will keep watching and supporting on a national level, but they really might have to let everyone go and start from scratch with young players who identify for the club. The guys they have right now are just bad on the field and bad in the dressing room. This was definitely proven by Rangnick EDIT: I just read on twitter they will start having monthly BMI tests, that sounds like the last century lol wtf. I hope Man United fans can remember that we weren't dominant right away under Sir Alex Ferguson. From his appointment as manager in 1986, it took him until 1990 to win his first trophy when we won the FA Cup that season. If Ten Hag is the guy to make it happen for United, he's going to need time and United fans absolutely have to be patient like we were with Ferguson back in the 80s. It's a very good parallel. Ferguson inherited a team that occasionally won cups but was lightweight and had a drinking culture. It took him 5+ years to turn it round to a team that could win the league consistently and bring in enough new players in his mould. Ten Haag may need a similar period. It speaks volumes that this fanbase idolworships an idiot like Ralf, who a broken AC Milan had the good judgment to reneg on appointing given that they finished 2nd and won the title in the 2 seasons which have passed since he was supposed to get the job. I say the good judgment because he was going to sell Zlatan and Paolo Maldini was going to leave if he got appointed given how he was criticising him for the decision to bring Zlatan back to the club and effectively called him incompetent (Maldini halved the wage bill and recruited so well that Milan won the Scudetto with the youngest squad in Italy based on what Il Capitano did). That should have been the warning flag that United should have considered. They'd have been wise to raid Inter for Beppe Marotta, an absolute genius who effectively rebuilt Inter and Juventus (the only reason Inter are struggling is because the Chinese government froze the assets of their owner, literally zero to do with Beppe). The biggest mistake United made was passing on Conte

Yeah I fully agree with your points on Ten Hag. Man Utd has fallen into an incredibly toxic cycle whereby new managers are brought in, expected to deliver instant results, fail, and are then sacked. In the interim they've signed a bunch of players and tried to implement new tactics which just confuses the players, makes it harder and harder for them to work cohesively and just decimates team morale. I can't blame the players for looking like they've just given up at this point, if I had a new boss every year with an entirely new system and way of doing things I'd be reticent to listen to them too. The board and fans need to give someone a chance, accept that things are totally fucked right now and won't be fixed by just signing a bunch of new players, but that any new manager needs some time and patience to test things out, fail a bit, and find a system that works (as well as get players that work for it). A new manager won't magically make a team that, as you say, has been built by 5 different people to do 5 different things good, nor will he magically be able to make team morale good or change what is, from the sounds of it, an incredibly dysfunctional and toxic dressing room atmosphere, and it honestly seems like the whole thing needs to be reworked Sadly, my best guess right now is that everyone will be calling Ten Hag the messiah, he'll manage to win a few games, everyone will assume things are good now, things'll start to go wrong and he'll be sacked in six months to a year

I honestly think losing Ronaldo is extremely bad. First of all, before thinking on the long term lets ask ourselves the simple question who our next striker will be if he leaves, because quite frankly there really is no available replacement for him. Then lets think whether or not we will actually be able to convince De Jong to come at our club if one of the players who showed desire just leaves because we are showing no ambition, given the fact it seems he isn't particularly sold on the idea of joining united. Besides that where did the whole idea of being able to influence younger players in a positive way vanish and why would we assume that Ten Hag who said that Ronaldo is part of his plan is straight up lying to us. As much as Ronaldo might not press he is doing his main job as a striker, which is scoring goals, really well, I mean besides the fact we were shambolic in defense without Ronaldo the attack would have clearly been just as bad. Another thing is that you just can not tell me that his pressing problem is worse for the team than things like Rashford who never tracks back, Maguire who is our captain and the example he gives is just...(the memes say it all) and McTominay who is our defensive midfielder can't pass a ball forward (I know De Jong may take his place, but De Jong won't play every game and he might just get injured at some point and in that case he and Fred are our backup, I don't think talking about Fred's flaws is necessary).

So because a pair of losers like Ole and Ralf failed, no manager can do better? Maybe, just maybe, you'll understand that a title winning squad needs an elite manager in their prime like Conte. I'm not in anyway saying that the squad inherited by Rangnick was a title winning one, but man for man, it was at least equal to the one Conte won the PL with at Chelsea. Conte is the type who wouldn't suffer fools and he'd have gutted the squad of criminals/wasters like maguire, Mctominay and Greenwood. Bruno would finally be able to work for an elite coach (his 2nd language is Italian and its why him and Pogba communicated so easily). Ironically, Fred's best form has come when he's played alongside Bruno and another Portuguese speaker (Casemiro and Matic are both fluent in the language). Pogba would have stayed as would Matic while Cristiano would have a coach with a similar mentality. Remember that both have been at Juventus since the Bianconeri built their new stadium and world class training facilities- no way would Conte tolerate the bs. He'd out the glazers and demand better. No matter what you say about Conte, he connects with fans in a way that very few coaches can. It'd be like getting the 2013 version of Mourinho (still in his prime) rather than the slightly past his best version that we got.

OK, so Ronaldo's not a presser, but without his goals last year Man U would have been nowhere. They only beat NORWICH 3-2 because he scored a hat trick! You can build a team with one talented player if the other 9 all work hard to fill the gaps - as with Matt Le Tissier at Southampton. But Man U's attack-minded players don't do that. A bunch of talented players, but not a team.

Anyone who blames Ralf is really just exposing their lack of knowledge on football. Players downed tools mid season. He even said that these players were doing things that they didn’t agree on for example the high defensive line against Liverpool which led them to score in the first 5 mins as Harry Maguire was pulled out of position. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions but some opinions are just plain wrong and stupid. They didn’t respect him because he demanded more intensity from them and they knew that he was only an interim manager. These players are no good, they get managers sacked for fun, they did it to Van Gaal, mourinho, Solsjaer and now ragnick, give them 2 years and they will do the same to Ten Hag if he doesn’t sell most of them. Ralf Ragnick even said that these players blatantly ignored the patterns of play and instructions given by him and the coaches and they would go on the pitch and freestyle then get beaten, and all of a sudden thats ragnick’s fault.

Ralf was like a substitute teacher that everyone know has no power hence they didn’t respect him. I hope ETH does a good job at ManU because its nice to see Dutch coaches doing well abroad (since there arent that many). But him winning the eredivisie with Ajax means very little. In an attempt to keep up a bit with the European top clubs they have started spending big. Maybe not compared to premier league clubs but Ajax regularly buying players for 10+ million is something other dutch clubs just cant keep up with. It sometimes feels like Stevie Wonder could become champions with Ajax. He also hasnt really had to deal with a dissatisfied squad. This year after their dissapointing elimination by Benfica in the champions league Ajax sometimes looked empty and even almost bottled the league, that was with them being in 1st place. I wonder how he is going to motivate the Utd squad after they get spanked 5-0 by Liverpool again and are dropping into 6th place. I really hope he does well in Manchester but this will be a much harder job than Ajax so i hope he can show some things that we havent really seen before from him.
